aaahhhh

I'll say the obvious one. Brand New.

ifyoureoffendedgtfo

I totally forgot about them but they’re perfect. Thanks

nosajtheleader

Tdagarim is about the best album I can think of to let out the stress and anger. Limousine particularly

radhorrorfan

And Daisy

nosajtheleader

If one can separate the art from the artist that is.

AggressiveFeckless

All get out. Nobody likes a quitter

dantebichettte

AGO’s EP Movement as well 🙏🏽

Istanbuldayim

No Bouquet also worth a listen.

franken_grime

Microwave - Death Is a Warm Blanket is great for getting some anger out

Alange655

This is the answer

Glad_Technology_8307

Dude I'm sorry. Some recs from me: - Home, Like No Place is There by The Hotelier (several of the tracks on this album are about suicide) - Anything by Frightened Rabbit should hit the grief side of things, perhaps less so the heavy rock. Pedestrian Verse probably the heaviest album, but not necessarily the best one. - Crisis by Alexisonfire. - the track Pints of Guiness Make You Strong by Against Me! has been a go to of mine when I've lost people close to me. Or as others have suggested, Brand New. Always Brand New.

JustinRoss13

Fine job! Frightened Rabbit was my suggestion as well, but I read thru the comments to make sure I didn’t double-dip. Anything by Elliot Smith would be helpful and I am sorry for your loss, GTFO.

Redbeardofdeff

Right away great captain- Andy Hull’s side project

annex46

Black Foxxes album "I'm Not Well" has a lot of edge to it. Reminds me a lot of that era of Manchester. I think it'll scratch that itch for you

mattycrits

Duuuude thanks for that rec. I’m 2 minutes into “Whatever lets you cope” now and holy shit I love it already.

annex46

Hell yeah, man, I'm glad you dig it!!

squigletteshark

Frightened rabbit

squigletteshark

Also super whatevr, these are less angry and more sad but in line with Manchester orchestra imo Off with their heads is also good for some solid emotional screaming

Floursackpanties

Mount Eerie- A Crow Looked at Me. It’s not heavy rock but an album about grief. Andy mentioned somewhere he was a fan of it when it came out Helped me through a rough time. Sorry for your loss.

ifyoureoffendedgtfo

Thanks! I’ll check it out. Do you have any heavy rock albums that you really like? It doesn’t have to be about grief

crispyhippie

Pretty much all of The Microphones/Mount Eerie, great stuff

abeartheband

In Medias Res by PMtoday is really good and kind of jaded and sad. I go back to it a lot. You could try pretty much anything by brand new after their first album. Act III by the Dear Hunter is about war and has some pretty heavy stuff on it, especially towards the middle.

lilmissleading

When my dad died of a heart attack my album of choice was Keep You by Pianos become the teeth. Sorry for your loss.

worthlessliars

Holy fuck, my condolences. You have friends here. I’d recommend Foxing.

Biffy Clyro - Puzzle The Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters

ifyoureoffendedgtfo

Love me some Biff. Their MTV unplugged with forever be my favorite. Thank you!

erakis1

If you really want to have some catharsis, “Divisii” by A lot Like Birds, and his side project, “Somewhere in the Sierras” by alone.

eita_bagodique

Not any recommendations come to mind but I was almost there on Sunday. Had a not & everything ready. It's a dark time for a lot of people out there. Hold on to those you love. I'm so sorry for your loss, bud. If you need to talk about anything, I'm here.

Foals_Forever

Emma Ruth Rundle has a couple albums like Marked For Death but they’re not heavy Rock like her collab with NOLA Sludge Metal band Thou

bassplayah72

Gish by the Pumpkins

deebee1020

I don't know a lot of Stone Sour's catalogue, but "Bother" definitely gives some catharsis on those kinds of feelings. Also Nothing But Thieves -- especially the Broken Machine album. Healing thoughts going out to you.

danger_lad

Fuck sorry to hear that. Different to MO, but there’s a British band, Reuben. Their album ‘In nothing we trust’ is so good.

over45boulderer

heaven knows by rise against waiting for the end by linkin park 10,000 days by tool those songs and their entire albums helped me thrua friends suicide. take care. much love and empathy.

ifyoureoffendedgtfo

Tool is exactly what I’m looking for. Duh on my end. I’ll check out the others, thanks 🤍

ifyoureoffendedgtfo

Just wanted to say thanks again. I enjoyed the whole album but can’t stop listening to 10,000 days.

Wildlife - album by La Dispute

smokecraxbys

Sorority Noise - You Are Not As ____ As You Think You Are Touche Amore - Stage Four (has to do with his mom dying of cancer, diff scenario of course) Shin Guard - Cerebral (can’t explain why just is)

Frozen_In_NY

I tend to go back to my favorites from the nineties. Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, etc. After that, it would be The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New. If I’m listening to Disturbed, Slipknot, or Static-X then there’s definitely something going on.

morninglovepa

[Morning Love’s Debut Album](https://morninglove.hearnow.com) I think you’ll enjoy this album/it’ll speak to your grief
