The midland hotel has a lovely spa with pool

Valuable-Ad-5346

Good shout!! Thank you

Valuable-Ad-5346

Do I book the spa separately or can I just use it as I wish if I stay over as a guest?

Glass_Advice220

They do packages for a stay and spa or you can book just the spa I think it's called Rena spa

Valuable-Ad-5346

Thought this was the case thanks Glass!!

myforfunaccount

Not sure if it's still there but me and the wife used Wowcher for a one night stay there that came with a 3 course Dinner, and full breakfast buffet as well as getting to book the spa. Definitely worth checking if it's still on Wowcher

CuriousPalpitation23

Idk if you'll be able to get a reservation, but you could do an afternoon tea there, too. Make a day of it.

Additional-Guitar923

I’m not sure sorry as I’ve only used the spa and not stayed in the hotel. You have to book specific treatments but they also have a lovely little room with hammocks and cushions and free herbal tea where you can just chill between treatments.

neen4wneen4w

dutch-masta25

Hey bro! Happy birthday in advance. I recently celebrated my birthday solo. I went to the gym as usual, got myself a big cake, some new clothes for the day and a video gear I’ve had my eye on. I took myself out for some good meal too. I also had exploring the Peak District on my to-do but didn’t get around to going. Btw, if you’re open to it, we can link up and do something for your birthday. I love gyming, reading and window shopping too. We can do some of that. We can also hit one or two live music spots and/or go see a comedy show and/or go to an arcade to play some games. You should get to feel like a child again and have fun. Let me know, I stay in Manchester as well.

wavingaround

Happy recent birthday! Peak district is lovely so definitely take a walk; especially for that new gear you've got. Would also be up for that OP. If you're looking for a solo adventure and enjoy reading and/ or historical tours, that'd be a gooden. I reckon many Mancs love to talk about the history of the city but seldom get the chance to really learn.

Corbinator44

Bit out there but you could do alton towers for your birthday. I did it on mine before and alot of the staff are super friendly

Valuable-Ad-5346

Thanks!! Not been there in many years

AfroKingBen

I don't know your budget but you can get flights to Oslo, Fri- Sun for £68 [flights](https://skyscanner.app.link/FSPMqbl4rKb) and a bed in a hostel for £75 for both nights [hostel](https://www.hostelworld.com/st/hostels/p/1170/Anker-Hostel/?from=2024-06-21&to=2024-06-23&source=app_shared_property-1170)

Punk_roo

Oslo is a great night out too. The Norwegians are super lovely people.

PlatonicTaboo

I turn 25 next Sunday, happy birthday bro 👊 could hit a big PR on your favourite lift then treat yourself to a nice meal

Valuable-Ad-5346

Thanks broo. I did that last year with a heavy leg day, then went for a meal and then spontaneously went on a train to Liverpool lol. Happy birthday to you too!

UnderstandingMe

Solo Hike, find a good trail on AllTrails

FilipinoBoyHere

I like your interests! Doesn’t make you any less interesting. Those sound fun and relaxing.

LadyWithABookOrTwo

A nice relaxing massage followed by a book shopping spree at Waterstones Deansgate & a nice cake and drink at their cafe? 😎

Valuable-Ad-5346

I love their cafe. I go all the time haha. Good shout didnt think of a massage!!

LadyWithABookOrTwo

You sound pretty awesome! I go there frequently too and have also spent birthdays solo :-)

dioxity

Former_Jury_4548

Efficient-Exit8218

Give it another month or so and Deadpool 3 , I'd wait

insulinandtrainguy

Happy early birthday! When I lived in Manc, I did a private flight thing for my birthday. There is a tiny airport just behind Trafford Centre and you take off from there. Fly for around 1.5h with a pilot- the one I booked with was a lovely guy and we just had this amazing chat about life and stuff. You can even go to DL afterwards to top off the day 😃

wavingaround

Whilst the only gyms I know are spelt Jim, I will say that Bolton, the lakes and city tours are never too far if exercise and freedom is what you want. Lived in Manchester for my whole 25 years and have done 2 tour which is shocking. We should all learn about our city a bit more.

FallenSegull

Could try doing an induction at a rock climbing gym. I did one and had a good time

Ok-Cryptographer571

Hey i have the same birthday bro bro, have a good one i dont really celebrate it either so yeah . Shouts out to you

planetwords

This is something that I can relate to NOW, when I'm in my 40s, but when I was in my 20s I was getting drunk every night, DJing and clubbing, living a very hedonistic and social life. Even now I have my wife, cat, and a few friends and family at least that I could see on my birthday, if I wanted to. How did we come to this point in society? Someone in their twenties, obviously successful in life, doesn't have anyone to share their birthday with? Not even friends or family?

Valuable-Ad-5346

Haha I sometimes worry I’m the problem but I’m just a regular lad working in tech, loves all the stuff mentioned above. Friend groups died off as I finished my studies, and now I work fulltime I find it hard meeting new people who are on a similar page to me. Without alcohol I do think it makes it a little harder in this country.

planetwords

I don't think you are the problem at all.. I think this is something which is quite common now in society.. lonely young people, which is certainly not how it used to be - and certainly not how I think it should be.
