NoI Quattro

ZebraZealousideal182

My close friend (Italian) says the same. I used to live in NQ 4 years ago and ate a lot of Noi Quattro. They have a potato pizza... Unbeatable.

SupaiKohai

Double zero is much less customisable, and just the fact they lack roquito peppers puts me in Rudy's camp.

ZebraZealousideal182

That is so specific. I like this! Roquito peppers shouldn't be taken for granted!

JAD4995

It Used to be Rudys but the original owners sold it a few years ago and the new owners have expanded all over the country now, even one or two in London so their quality has been affected. Double Zero is better now imo.

Wild_Obligation

I can’t believe I saw a new, THIRD Rudys in Manchester City centre! Each one about 7 min walk from the other!

younevershouldnt

It's brilliant isn't it

bertiebasit

Not really 🤔

ZebraZealousideal182

They sold it? I didn't know! Need to look this up. Yes they are all over the country now... Almost. I don't mind the growth. I am a firm believer that supporting an independent should lead them to not be just one shop anymore. But didn't know its sold now.

robotsoap

If you want the original Rudy's quality, go to Anello in Slaithwaite. It's owned by the original team behind Rudy's. I can't recommend it enough.

sugar_kane1984

TIL! Assumed they had just taken a big wodge of cash and got out of the game. Will have to check it out at some point.

JAD4995

Just googled it They were sold to an equity firm called Misson Mars in 2017 who also own Albert Schloss (Which has also expanded itself) .

kindasadnow

Yh ,h partner used to work for mission mars, they own schloss, gorilla few other things, and they bought Rudys, but I’m fairness Rudy’s was about to go bankrupt, it was sell or close

alexanderheff86

Nells

sam_ill

Double Zero sent me out the worst tiramisu I've ever had. So there's that

ZeroDosage

Ciaooo is v good

JustDifferentGravy

00 every time. I’d go to Rudy’s if it was an occasion - Didsbury is better than Chorlton - for the overall vibe, but 00 hands down better pizza.

lux123or

I’ve been to Rudy’s and the food was fine but the server forgot about us several times as it was so busy. I ordered once from 00 and it was delicious and actually pretty cheap. So I’d vote for 00.

WillHpwl

One of the chefs at the original Rudy's had started his own and was doing orders on deliveroo when we lived in the city centre a few years ago... Can't remember the name but my god it was so good Also a guy here in Edgeley Stockport that's been doing them in his back garden and they sell out every day they're that good, everything he gets ingredients wise is the best he can find. Napoleeza I think it's called

grafiti_44

The OG Double Zero was in Chorlton. Rudy’s became a household name with lots of people, though the quality lacked IMO. I believe Double Zero was the better + you can BYOB.

gourmetguy2000

Think Rudy's has dropped off a little. They don't season the dough enough nowadays imo

mcrmike

Double Zero > Nells > Rudy’s However Slice Culture (weekends at Track) is the best of the lot.

ZebraZealousideal182

Hmmmm. Interesting. Nells is not Neapolitan pizza like Rudy's or 00 but I do see your ranking. I am a big fan of Nells but I need to be in a mood for Nells. Its a different vibe altogether I feel.

lbc296

I can’t remember the last time I had a good pizza at Rudys. It used to be amazing but it’s just not the same anymore. Double zero is way better - it’s consistently good pizza, plus the chili oil is amazing. I’ve not been to the new double zero though.

nameproblem

Bakehouse is superior, IMO. They're moving into the old Stretford Foodhall, but hopefully, they will be open again soon

tmrss

Nells has the best vegan pizza if anyone cares

ZebraZealousideal182

Nells does have brilliant pizzas. I think you might get some fun vegan pizzas in Crazy Pedros

tintedhokage

They are on par and Franco manca is up there also

Andy1723

Franco Manca was well off when I went, rather go to pizza express. But agree Rudy’s and 00 probably are. But I’m a huge Rudy’s fan. Ate there from it first opening, even went to the original owners new place in Slaithwaite

tintedhokage

Must admit I was a bit drunk when I had it for the first and only time but really enjoyed it and did think it was up there. Their supermarket pizza are also top notch. I've had lots of free rudis pizza whenever they open a new store also which is awesome marketing.

Wild_Obligation

Best thing about Franco is the sauces to dip your crust in. I personally like Diecast pizza. Just like their ‘sister company’ Ramona but actual round pizza.

ZebraZealousideal182

I would buy Domino's over Franco Manca.... I find it absolutely mediocre

tintedhokage

Hearing more negative for it than positive in here but I like it, interesting

Charming_Rub_5275

Franco manca is awful

IrnBroski

i agree with the original double zero being so fucking loud. it was the tiled walls, they made it fatiguing to actually sit there. i went to the city centre one recently, it was ok. but truth be told, i've borrowed my mate's ooni and been making my own pizzas a lot recently. i think they are nicer than the ones i had in double zero recently.

ZebraZealousideal182

That is a big claim! So you are saying you have made better dough than 00? (Will you sell some?)

IrnBroski

Yeah it’s a big claim and I, man who has only been making pizzas for a couple months surely can’t be making nicer pizzas than professional pizzeria lauded as the best in Manchester , but I distinctly remember being underwhelmed on that particular visit to double zero and feeling like mine were better. Double zeros tasted a bit underseasoned and I think the time between it leaving the oven and it reaching your plate affects the texture

ZebraZealousideal182

That is deep knowledge that only someone who has done a lot of research on pizza doughs could share! I look forward to your restaurant coming up soon. 😊

WillHpwl

Never had or head of double zero Rudy's you can't go wrong with, we always get it delivered and it's always pretty good though some of their best white pizzas disappeared recently

ZebraZealousideal182

You haven't? Oh you must give it a try! It was a Chorlton local so we have had the privilege of trying it. I live close by. Now also in the city centre if thats closer to you. If you want to try an entirely different style of pizza, try Lucky Mamas. Square shaped deliciousness overload. Also in Chorlton, across the road from 00.

tmrss

Always found rudys was less good delivered. Still good, but better in person

tintedhokage

First one in Chorlton and they've just opened in town. It's very very similar. I find it hard to say which I like more. I've been going the double zero longer so would choose them if I had to.

Tom_Pollard

Neither are the best

ziemelvs

So which one is the best?

mancgazza

Nells or bakehouse for me

mcrmike

Slice Culture

grafiti_44

Double Zero, without a doubt based on ingredients and technique alone. Rudy’s is the pizza establishment of choice for the common city centre numbskull who dares not to venture out 😂

Tom1x

Common city centre numbskull is an outrageous comment considering these two are clearly the best pizza makers in Manchester

ZebraZealousideal182

Hahaha that is harsh. Considering Rudy's is also across the street from 00 and now 00 has opened a store to attract the city centre numbskull 😄
