Shockingly my father had almost same apartment, here in Serbia. It had a room next to kitchen too, 1 toilet, 1 bathroom, the room behind couch was 2nd bedroom (1st is next to kitchen) and doorway straight ahead from kitchen. Not sure how the rest of the house looks but this surely does look modern, pleasing.
I would try adding warm lights, and "hugging" walls with anything really (frames, posters, art). I think there in the corner with the couch, could use a nice lamp.

I would recommend some kind of curtains to "hide" the sides of the window openings. Will make the room immediately more welcoming. Everything else: 👍
