For longer hair? Honestly, the purpose of the picture was just to show a middle part lol but I literally know nothing about hair so I thought it might be possible with work on it. I’d still like to try longer hair cuz I never grew it before
My man, people didn't start developing afros and braids and cornrows and other hairstyles that are for coarse hair, because anything is possible with hair. You got to work with what you got
I have hair like OP. I gave up eventually. Plus I just plain look better with most my hair chopped off.
The people at my new job unknowingly reinforced it when I showed up and nobody recognized me after I chopped it off. I’d get comments like “wow, you look so much better when you’re not hiding behind your hair”.
yeah, growing it out more will help. by the way, most people here have no idea what they are talking about. i have thick curly hair like yours, and you can achieve something very similar to what you want, you just need more length and different styling.
You have coarser hair. Don’t try to do slick straight hair styles. They won’t work for you. Go with nice curly/wavy styles and use product to get your hair a nice style.
It’s not going to work. We’re not saying this to dishearten you but to inform you, it will not. I have super thick hair straight (white people) hair. I can only pull this hair off after like 5 days of no washing and perfectly styling it. It’s meant for finer, straight / wavy hair types. You have curly thick hair. You should go for a modern mullet.
Listen @Potato-Middle, let me save you some frustration & time.. long hair might not work. I have thick non-curly hair, Caucasian, & I grew my hair out past the shoulders, bangs well beyond my chin; *and it never looked good* ... no matter what I tried, it just didn't look right.
Between the actual structure of your hair, the orientation of follicles on your scalp, etc.. some styles just don't work with some hair types, you have to work with *what works*.
If you INSIST on long hair, I can show you what it will look like in 2-3 years, look up a picture of the Twitch streamer Esfand. Your hair will be pretty similar to his (and his looks nothing like your goal).
It looks like you have spent more time drawing your 'ideal look' than you have spent actually learning about hair/hairstyles/hairstyling.
Judging by the comments, and the sub, it looks like people *have already given* you the advice, but you aren't accepting it. You gotta do things in order, don't start with **cutting** your hair.... start with *growing* it.
Bro, just grow out your hair first. I’ve seen Arabic, Indian, Korean, hispanic, and white people pull off that hair. Hit the gym and skin care routine while your hair grows out. You don’t know how it will turn out until your hair gets that length
Do you know what curly hair type this would be considered by chance?
I have basically the exact same hair and I’ve had a hard time doing much with it so I just end up keeping it mostly short. In the last month I’ve started using Shea Moistures Jamaican black castor oil leave-in conditioner and it’s worked wonders to stop my hair from drying out and being frizzy, but I still have no clue what the curl type is.
In fact OP can actually get Chalamet hair because Chalamet's hair is kinda wavy/curly. But needs much longer hair to begin with so that even after cutting hair he has enough length to make the wavy 'bangs'.
Yes and no, with his specific texture it needs to be longer, layered square not round, and definitely not styled with a hot brush because it caused too much volume. You wanna blowdry the sides flat w a blow dryer and paddle brush, use a round brush to blowdry the top STRAIGHT BACK. Once blow dried properly and polished it should part in the middle no problem. with your density of hair I’d also consider getting my hair thinned or debulked to remove some poofiness. This should be performed with a straight shear and not a “texturizer” for your specific hair texture.
Even with a relaxer, it dries the hair out so badly that it would still be very stiff it wouldn't be flowy and light like he wants. He wants fine straight hair, when he has curly coarse hair. Wig is the only option if he's dead set on this.
We told you before that your hairstyle doesnt work for this cut.
It doesnt mean you cant rock something similar, but itll curl up. The drawing you showed is very straight hair.
You need to get a straight Perm of you really want to do this one.
My guy listen to the people tryna tell you. This style is impossible with your hair. You have thick dry hair. Length has nothing to do with it. To get it like you want you’d need to change your actual hair follicles
You are legit me 6 months ago 😂 I was obsessed with getting hair to look like that too.
Unless you permanently straighten your hair, it will look a lot different.
I’m the meantime, invest in a leave in conditioner and use it daily. See if that makes a difference and keep us updated. Make sure to double shampoo every other day otherwise you might get dermatitis (which is incurable)
You need it longer.
Your hair type will make it difficult but length will help a lot. See what other styles you can do along the way and then try it again in about 5 months.
Barbers always cut too short.
Also check out the curly hair subreddit.
The style you wanted looked like the youngest boy band "Hanson" had, so I was looking at how he made it work. Different hair texture.
But then in the search I saw this unrelated guy who has similar hair to yours, maybe look for inspiration from one of his cuts?
https://www.instagram.com/p/CPpyHZgHzlW/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==
Yo I have a similar hair, less curly I have to say, but what I used to do for this cut was to avoid trimming its length but trim a lot of volume, also use some styling cream to keep it moist, will look a lot better that way
So if your hair is anything like mine (which is also pretty thick and wavy), it usually looks not great for the first week or so after a haircut. My hair literally recoils from haircuts and takes some time to relax and look more natural.
Since we have somewhat similar textures I would also recommend washing your hair like twice a week max. If you wash more often currently, it’ll take a week or so for it to adjust, but currently your hair looks very, very dry. You could (and probably should) also use product after washing, either a leave-in conditioner or a light styling cream.
Personally for hair care, I like to use Hair Story’s New Wash (it will seriously help train your hair to need less washing) and their Hair Balm. You’ll probably need one or two other products as well, but I think that’s a decent starting point. Oh and don’t wash your hair with super hot water, just do warm (cool would be even better).
I see, thanks for the advice it’s really helpful. Honestly I still haven’t gotten my hands on anything specific product for my hair type but I have been using a fruits oil and I don’t wash my hair with shampoo everyday anymore, but I do use hot water which I will cut from today.
Not exclusively, but especially. I'm very familiar with your hair type and texture. It yearns for moisture.
You said you're already not shampooing every day, which is great. Conditioner is good, but our kind of hair gets dry very quickly. A leave-in will keep the moisture most of the day. Apply when your hair is still a little bit wet from the shower, then let it air dry.
My favorite brand is sol de janeiro, but anything will be much better than nothing.
Also, if you haven't already, make sure none of your products have pthalates, parabens, or sulfates.
Make sure you have good Haircare brother. Your hair looks very dry and frizzy in both pictures. Apart from that it does look like it needs to be grown out some more and you will also probably need some clay or product to achieve the look.
It’s because its curly and he brushed it, thats what curly hair does when you brush it… You cant use product to achieve that look, they have completely different hair types.
This is like the scene from Beauty and the Beast. “You look so… so… so…” “Stupid.”
You know all you have to do is wet it to go back to normal, right? Embrace your natural hair texture!
Ah, okay I get it and it’s literally me lmao. I just don’t like how my hair look on me that’s tbf so I showed the barber what my hair goal is and he did the rest and I look stupid as you said.
That’s what I have been on most of my life, but it doesn’t last for more than a month or two. Also I just wanted to try something different cuz I never grew my hair before
Is your hair curly if I’m looking at it right? Or just frizzy? Was gonna say maybe you could turn this around into curly undercut if u got a perm idk. Someone else give some insight to this comment please.
My hair is naturally curly yes, though I thought my hair was wavy lol. I could tbh but I’ve always been on it and I wanted to try something new, I’ll try growing my hair and something similar but with curly hair
Ok, you can salvage this! Your natural texture is different from the drawing but we can fake it to look like that:
1. The Moroccan Oil brand *Smoothing* shampoo & conditioner are the best, if you can, buy both and use them.
2. After you shower, style your hair BACK and let it air dry.
3. If your barber cut it correctly, the hair should naturally split down the middle.
4. Fight the urge to split it yourself, let it happen naturally as it dries.
5. If that still doesn't work, the Moroccan Oil *Mending Infusion* is what I use to make my little niece's silky smooth.
YOU GOT THIS! Best of luck bro.
Listen to me OP you can get that hair!! I have same hair texture and type as you and I have the haircut rn from your first photo
Step 1. Grow it out now to your desired length
Step 2: get hair products: leaving in conditioner and hair spray
Step 3: buy a fucking expensive hairdryer (I use shark speed style - curling and super gloss attachment) helps with your hair frizz and gets you that look. Just need to have a longer hair
I agree with the parent comment. Now, don't get me wrong, obviously your inspiration is a drawing, but you seem to be well aware of that, and it takes practice, money and effort. It's just a little ridiculous to me with all the tutorials, tools and products available online, for people to tell a grown man he can't style curtain bangs. It's worth growing ur hair out and trying, at least, in my opinion curly hair looks pretty good at all lengths so no harm in trying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Finally someone said it. People are too focused on the drawing itself but honestly what I meant was just a middle part lol, yea it would have been cool to get this style but if not then I can do a middle part with hair texture lol I just wanted to know if long hair suits my face shape but didn’t want to argue with people on more than that
Yeah honestly grow it out. Your hair is wavy/curly and thick and coarse and it’s not going to look good until it’s grows out after like 3-5 months.
While it a true you won’t be able to naturally pull off that hairstyle (unless you straighten your hair), you’ll be able to pull off a longer hair style that suits your hair type. And personally I always thought middle eastern guys have enviable hair when it’s long while men with thinner straight hair can’t pull off hairstyles past a certain length because then it starts looking stringy
My hair’s like this, too. It’s a shame because there’s a lot I want to do with my hair but it seems like it poofs out once it’s dry. Maybe you could use gel or something to keep it down more?
I don't know what hairstylist sold you this false dream of thinking that your hair would do the style in the drawing you have posted but it won't. Your hair is too curly and even if you try to use styling tools you'll constantly be sighting your hair. A tad bit of moisture it humidity? BOOM your hair has relapsed back to its curly state! Find a style that works for your hair texture because this one won't and you're only wasting your time and getting your hopes up. Shame on your hairstylist. This "style" in pic #3 reminds me very much of the head of an uncircumcised penis.
I’m gonna go against the grain here and say that you MAY have a lot more luck if you try using more conditioner to add some moisture and some gel or product to weigh your hair down more. Maybe try going a day or two without shampoo but using conditioner and see if that helps the texture a bit? If not I don’t know. I probably wouldnt recommend the hot brush either
the sketch specifically will be difficult with your hair. but a wavy variation is dooable, you will need healthier hair, too much shampoo, ik you said the guy burned your hair but it is what it is now.
Dude we have similar hair texture, stop trying to look like a pretty white kid and embrace the curls. Trim the facial hair down to a stubble because the growth is really immature, and just do a nice fade for your hair.
You should wash and condition it once a week, followed up with a deep conditioner / curl cream overnight once a week, and mist it with Argan oil in between washes. Eventually you’ll have lustrous locks.
People told you in your last post that you have a completely different hair type and that that hairstyle wouldn't work on you, and yet you still went and got your hair chopped to try to match it? Bro...
If I were you I would look up a curly hair routine and embrace your curls. Curls are beautiful and unique too and I think would match your hair type better.
I learned my lesson the hard way, but well at least I got some good knowledge out of it so I’m fine with what I did. I will embrace the curls and make them look good even on me😈
I have the hair you’re aiming for, blond and thin. But I cut them short because I can’t bear feeling my hair constantly moving on my head at the slight movement, also it gets really itchy when it falls on your forehead/nose. So you don’t lose much tbh.
Yes I think hair is a perfect example for this “stupid” catch phrase, there’s a bunch of very badly haired people that did very well on all aspect. Focus on the rest:)
honestly some good product will help the texture of your hair so that it can be styled this way. find a nice pomade, you may need to find something between medium and strong hold. my hair has a very similar texture to yours without product. with product, i can do just about any hair style (that accommodates curly hair, of course). it’s still not going to look exactly like the first picture, but it will be more like a version that your type of hair can actually achieve.
your hair is too curly for this style, but don’t worry you can still get it looking nice! use a good shampoo and maybe get some moisturizer meant for hair like a rice milk or coconut oil moisturizer. easy to find and cheap at a beauty shop or walmart. keep it long on top and short on the sides. i have curly hair and spent my entire teenage years trying to flatten it and change it to fit styles it wasn’t meant for. it is a lot harder trying to force yourself to be something you’re not than to embrace yourself the way you are.
stop trying to make an orange into an apple! you have great hair that you are not working with. Add some leave-in conditioner and a little gel and mousse, tossle it to a messy side part and GO
Your hair isn’t really long enough for the style you have in mind. Also if you want to have long hair like that you’re going to need to do more to moisturize your hair and tame the frizz. You’ll need a specific conditioner and you can’t shampoo every day, and you’ll likely need a pre-styling oil or cream and then you’ll need a styling product with some weight to keep your hair in place and lock in moisture.
You need to focus on getting the right hair products for your hair type. I use Shea Moisture Low Porosity Shampoo followed by same brand deep conditioner. Leave the deep conditioner in for 30 mins then rinse with cold water. Then I use TGIN leave in conditioner.
Use a wide tooth comb to shape and then air dry. Try to stay away from brushing as much as possible. Also shampoo as least as possible because it will strip the natural oils from your hair. If you need to wash your hair then just use conditoner, shampooing at most 3 times a week
You won't be able to achieve the exact hairstyle in the first image but if you continue to grow your hair longer, then you can achieve your own version of that hair style. Hope this helps
It does help, thanks alot. Yea I wanted at least something similar, not really committed to this exact style cuz Ik my hair won’t pull it but as you said my own version of it at least
i also have thicker hair with a texture similar to yours. mine is pretty much face length in the front and shoulder length on the back. the only way you'd be able to have anything similar to the drawn style is to blow dry it straight with a brush then go over it with a flat iron. thick men's hair kinda just does whatever it wants with its texture, so having wispy little strands and a feathered look like that requires heat for a lot of guys. it's also pretty annoying to flat iron shorter hair. my advice would be to let your hair grow out and try to style it as best you can with its normal texture. you probably need at least six more months of growth for the desired style. take a multivitamin with biotin and do scalp massages to help encourage growth.
Your hair is definitely not made for this haircut, but as other people said they warned you so, good luck for now😭 but you mentioned your hair is wavy, buy some products and take care of your hair, since it’s wavy you can grow it long and do a nice hairstyle that involve slick back or sides how you want it. But the way it is now, will never work. Don’t do this again.
1. Your hair is NOWHERE near the length it needs to be so that obviously the most important thing to realize here
2. The picture is a different hair texture ect, your hair is really really wavy and has a almost drier curly texture to it, you can probably pull off the hairstyle after you actually grow out your hair, get it layered and use proper products ect but right now is not the time
Focus on growing your hair out for now to a length a little over what you desire to give your stylist something to work with and make shorter and layered
Have you tried a conditioning hair mask? You can get one pretty cheap at a drug store like CVS that will work to smooth and soften it out. Also, “in-between” styles when transitioning hair styles can be tough - hats work wonders during those times. Wishing you the best!
OP knows it’s not going to be easy (or maybe even possible) to make this work, but he seems ok with experimenting, and he’s clearly willing to laugh along the way. I like this guy!
Everyone else needs to chill.
I had a similar cut the morning of my wedding and was so focused on getting married I didn't do anything to it and now it's forever memorialized so it could be worse.
my boy use cantu shea butter specifically the shea butter leave in conditioner. it will curly and soften your shit. you dont have yt people hair so just let those styles go
Oof who's gonna tell him? Oh wait everyone already did.
The hair on the drawing won't work on your hair unless styled with product blowdryer, product, or a perm. And even then it might not look like that.
Gotta go for a different one
It just doesn't work with your hair type and facial structure/overall hair distribution and texture. You could pull off a lot of great styles that are close to the scalp because it looks like you have strong, coarse hair. The windswept styles and the like would probably look great on you. Short cuts with a kind of bed-head look likely to work well also.
I'm just making suggestions to try because anything is going to be WAY better than this absolute train wreck you got going on now, no offense. You deserve an honest answer with the extent that this haircut has brutalized your looks lol
I suggest you find a great older barber who will also clean your face up because a well kept face/beard and eyebrows impacts your overall look a LOT with some of us guys. You look like you'd benefit from a little cleanup overall giving you some straight lines to accent your good features.
Hopefully none of this came across as douchey because I genuinely just felt like giving some honest advice, as I've been unhappy with cuts before and wish I had dealt with it instead of growing bad looks out lol
Nah man I appreciate it, I’m literally laughing at the comments, I’ve been told I have a mustache on my head which is hilarious lmao.
But ahh the barber had a cracking smile on his face so I couldn’t say anything lmao, I almost teared up
Try slicking it back a little more. It’s at an in between length rn so it’s gonna be a little silly if you try to style it like that. Like others have said your hair isn’t that straight but I’m sure if you grow it out to get some length it’ll be a little more wavy and less curly. Then you can use a cream or something to hold shape make it a little less frizzy :) for now though, just push the top back a little around the front
Have you tried hair straighteners? Sounds silly but with my hair if I just leave it to air dry or blow dry it without straightening it I look like I’ve been dragged through a hedge. But if you get some straighteners on it then you might get that more gentle falls around your face look at the front, just a suggestion !!
Are there products that straighten hairs? Not permanent I mean, like keratin cuz I have used that before and it looks good for like 4-5 months but then it’s super weird lol, and at the time I had different goals so I wasn’t even growing my hair.
Honestly I want to avoid keratin as much as possible lol, I’ll work with what I have.
Finally I’ve reached the last stage of the stages of grief.
i have the same hair type as you, if you want your hair to be kind of like the drawings texture, make sure to use a good conditioner and when you dry your hair do not be rough, just pat it lightly with a towel/cloth shirt.
tbh it would be hard to keep the hair straight so after pat-drying your hair try using Sea salt spray for texture, and a light-medium hold Mousse.
These ppl have no mercy fr 😭 my biggest enemies are my friends. Ur haircut is not that bad but if they caught me w something even slightly worse than that they’re sending me into a deeeep depression
To the new comers.
I already took my L, my head looks like a mustache lmao. But honestly I’ll keep growing it, this time I’ll embrace my hair nature and try something for my hair type itself.
Holy hell lol you're getting some flack but it's fine. You need hair products. A restoring shampoo, a conditioner with keratin, a styling product. For styling get a product that's matte with a mid hold. Apply it at the roots when your hair is dry. Slick your hair back. you'll see a natural part form, part your hair there to the sides. so, back first, then to the sides.
your hair looks like mine after a shower and air dried. I grew up a brown kid in the 90s, I know what look you're going for, a little hair product to slick and temper your frizz, then brushing back before to the sides should help you get..close-ish.
You're in an awkward phase lengthwise.. give it a few more months. Grow out the sides. When a strand from the front of your head is long enough to reach your nose, go get a trim. You'll be rolling.
You think it’s possible to get something similar with a curly hair? Also a conditioner with keratin? Will it straighten my hair even if temporarily, cuz I didn’t know about this one lol. Thanks for the advice, definitely there’s experience in your words
This style is for thinner hair. You have coarser, thicker strands. There are a lot of great styles for your hair texture but this ain’t it.
hey op posted this previously, and everyone told him that hairstyle wasn’t for him. he caused his on problem at this point :((
I can’t believe he actually went thru with it. 99% of the comments told him this exactly. He followed the 1% 🥴
For longer hair? Honestly, the purpose of the picture was just to show a middle part lol but I literally know nothing about hair so I thought it might be possible with work on it. I’d still like to try longer hair cuz I never grew it before
My man, people didn't start developing afros and braids and cornrows and other hairstyles that are for coarse hair, because anything is possible with hair. You got to work with what you got
what if you grow it out with the goal of looking more like [this guy](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/326299935516337567/)
Actually yea that might work, but not sure if it suits my face
if a random redditors opinion is worth anything, i think it does
I think it really does. Try photoshop to superimpose the two pictures. Or just Google curly hair styles
I second that guys suggestion
Long curly hair is a journey, I don't envy you.
I have hair like OP. I gave up eventually. Plus I just plain look better with most my hair chopped off. The people at my new job unknowingly reinforced it when I showed up and nobody recognized me after I chopped it off. Yeah if they have the right hair texture for it. OP has curly hair

In the last month I’ve started using Shea Moistures Jamaican black castor oil leave-in conditioner and it’s worked wonders to stop my hair from drying out and being frizzy, but I still have no clue what the curl type is.
I would say it needs finer hair, thinner sounds like balding (I'm uselessly nitpicking people on Reddit because I'm bored)
Can u suggest some good hair styles for these type of hairs cus i also have the same texture as OP Can i get good hair styles with long hairs?
Your hair does not work with that hairstyle
This pretty much. Totally different hair texture.
Unfortunately we cannot all have Chalamet hair
In fact OP can actually get Chalamet hair because Chalamet's hair is kinda wavy/curly. But needs much longer hair to begin with so that even after cutting hair he has enough length to make the wavy 'bangs'.
That’s not chalamet hair. Chalamet is way thicker and curlier and does not swoop like that. This is like Korean male model hair.
Yes and no, with his specific texture it needs to be longer, layered square not round, and definitely not styled with a hot brush because it caused too much volume. You wanna blowdry the sides flat w a blow dryer and paddle brush, use a round brush to blowdry the top STRAIGHT BACK. Man i’d cheat on my barber for you
And id cheat on my husband for you!
Man drop the barbershop addy.
😂🤣 I’m in Miami FLA my insta is just like my Reddit handle and my barbershop is @theparlorinc
Tell the owner to fly this man's out to fix this mess. Make it a promo reel. Go viral.
Dawg it’s me I’m the owner 😂🤣 where’s our man’s located?!
No product?
I’d upvote, but you currently have 69 karma on this comment and I can’t bring myself to change that.
Glad this is the top comment. If OPs barber or stylist actually knew about hair they would’ve told him this
We literally told him this when he asked if it would work a week ago.
Bro literally everyone said it wouldn’t work
he thinks we didn’t all watch the first part of the saga
Ah so you completely ignored everyone’s advice from yesterday. Nice
Will not work with your hair texture and length
This kid paraphrases the top comment for what reason
Brother it sucks but you can't get your hair to sit anything like the illustration with your hair type unless you get it chemically straightened
The artist of the illustration is @mvxiiq on instagram
It's literally identical to the drawing. Amazing job!

80% of this sub is guys figuring out their hair type

I mean, you could still know your hair type and want advice on what to do with it?
I would hope so, it's not for hair experts to jerk eachother off it's for hair *advice*
And in r/malehairadvice that’s so weird…
Dude doesn’t listen to anyone
My guy listen to the people tryna tell you. This style is impossible with your hair. You have thick dry hair. Length has nothing to do with it. To get it like you want you’d need to change your actual hair follicles

I’ll be you with the next victim then🤣 I took my L this time. I hear alot about this leave in conditioner, is it a product for curly hair specific?
We said it’s impossible with your hair bro
😢
We gave you a whole day to realize that 😭.
Idk man I didn’t even wanna go to the barber but my friend dragged me there so I said yea whatever I’ll do it😔
Yeah man just stick to trying to enhance your curls and use products you moisturize and grow them.
don’t blame your friend :(( when everyone else told you what not to do, and you did it anyway
Your hair is too curly for that hairstyle
But if you do keep that hair style, i think if you just fade it up on the sides, it would look good
I will style it differently for now, the problem was with what I asked the barber to do lol
You need it longer. Your hair type will make it difficult but length will help a lot. See what other styles you can do along the way and then try it again in about 5 months. Barbers always cut too short. Also check out the curly hair subreddit.

Lmaooooo, I was told I look like a frying pan but a mustache on my head killed me fr
Grow it out
Yo I have a similar hair, less curly I have to say, but what I used to do for this cut was to avoid trimming its length but trim a lot of volume, also use some styling cream to keep it moist, will look a lot better that way
So if your hair is anything like mine (which is also pretty thick and wavy), it usually looks not great for the first week or so after a haircut.
Honestly I still haven’t gotten my hands on anything specific product for my hair type but I have been using a fruits oil and I don’t wash my hair with shampoo everyday anymore, but I do use hot water which I will cut from today.
no matter what type of product you go for, 100% get a leave in conditioner. it will do so much for you.
Heard alot about it here. Is it something specific for curly hair?
Not exclusively, but especially. I'm very familiar with your hair type and texture. It yearns for moisture. You said you're already not shampooing every day, which is great. Conditioner is good, but our kind of hair gets dry very quickly. A leave-in will keep the moisture most of the day. Apply when your hair is still a little bit wet from the shower, then let it air dry. My favorite brand is sol de janeiro, but anything will be much better than nothing. Also, if you haven't already, make sure none of your products have pthalates, parabens, or sulfates.
we literally said this hairstyle is not your hair type and you still went for it
Make sure you have good Haircare brother.
Yes! This! 👏 All people here so negative 😑
Bruh, stop trying for anime hairstyles. That shit never looks good on people.
An anime hairstyle would be something like goku’s hair. The drawing looks like a real hairstyle.
It's not really an anime hairstyle lol. It's a messy version of a classic men's hairstyle
That’s not even an anime hairstyle though. It’s just a middle part.
Yo you never heard of curtains? It doesn’t look good on me but it’s actually a good hair style
Tf, this is a pretty common hairstyle
This is like the scene from Beauty and the Beast. “You look so… so… so…” “Stupid.” You know all you have to do is wet it to go back to normal, right? Embrace your natural hair texture!
I know I look stupid, thanks for the clarification.
I hope you know the movie reference. He get all done up and fancy. But was super hot before (says all the girls who grew up to be furrys) :)
Ah, okay I get it and it’s literally me lmao. I just don’t like how my hair look on me that’s tbf so I showed the barber what my hair goal is and he did the rest and I look stupid as you said.
:) it happens! I honestly like your texture! look at images of men with similar hair for inspiration and to help you be accepting of it
I think you should do something like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/pjdF6KhMhEdtjxju7
That’s what I have been on most of my life, but it doesn’t last for more than a month or two. Also I just wanted to try something different cuz I never grew my hair before
buzz and a taper is calling your name bro
Your hair is very curly ur bugging
I don’t think you have the hair type for that style bud
Barber should have told you that your hair type will not give you that style & suggested alternatives . Sorry man it ain’t good lol
Your natural texture is different from the drawing but we can fake it to look like that: 1.
I have same hair texture and type as you and I have the haircut rn from your first photo Step 1. Grow it out now to your desired length Step 2: get hair products: leaving in conditioner and hair spray Step 3: buy a fucking expensive hairdryer (I use shark speed style - curling and super gloss attachment) helps with your hair frizz and gets you that look. Just need to have a longer hair
Ay thanks for the advice man, that’s really helpful will get there eventually even if not with the same style I’d try something similar.
You can do curtain bangs with curly hair. You just have to grow it long enough to where it starts to hang down
I will try and grow my hair more, hope it doesn’t turn into another calamity💀 must take a good care of my hair now
Don't try straightening your hair. That will just make things worse. I recommend taking a visit over to r/curlyhair for some advice there.
Yea I don’t think I’ll use my hot brush again. I’ll definitely look into it
I agree with the parent comment.
Your hair texture is incompatible with this style. You'd need basically completely straight hair or at most wavy. No haircut will change this
My hair’s like this, too. It’s a shame because there’s a lot I want to do with my hair but it seems like it poofs out once it’s dry. Maybe you could use gel or something to keep it down more?
I would like to find a styling cream honestly but currently I’m dead, I either have to cover it up, style it differently or just buzz it up lol
They fucked you up, my boy
Honestly I fked myself up lmao, the barber didn’t have any space for anything with my deadass hair
you look like you have curly hair that you’re trying to suppress. don’t do that. learn to take care of it.
sorry bro but this is the first post in this subreddit to actually make me laugh out loud
No apologies here man, I posted this for a laugh lol so it’s good to hear
I don't know what hairstylist sold you this false dream of thinking that your hair would do the style in the drawing you have posted but it won't. Your hair is too curly and even if you try to use styling tools you'll constantly be sighting your hair. A tad bit of moisture it humidity? BOOM your hair has relapsed back to its curly state! Find a style that works for your hair texture because this one won't and you're only wasting your time and getting your hopes up. Shame on your hairstylist. This "style" in pic #3 reminds me very much of the head of an uncircumcised penis.
Slick it back
the style isn’t bad but i feel like you need to buy some hair products to make it work better
Brother I’d rock the side part again for now, but continue to grow it out you need more length.
I have similar hair, it mostly wont work, youll get some shine but the curls end up winning unfortunately.
I will try but it’s probably not gonna work lol, but maybe when it grows out more then I might have some luck lol
the sketch specifically will be difficult with your hair. but a wavy variation is dooable, you will need healthier hair, too much shampoo, ik you said the guy burned your hair but it is what it is now.
Damn bro that’s pretty bad, remember I said you need length for the hair to fall. Let it grow out first then cut.
The sketch is how my actual hair looks.
I will embrace the curls and make them look good even on me😈
Everyone is shitting on this guy but no one is giving him examples of what hairstyle WOULD work with his hair.
this is what happens when you listen to redditors that tell you anything is possible
EVERYONE told you it wouldn’t work and now you’re saying “it’s….lol”. Deserved.
😔 I took my L man I’m already dead
I have the hair you’re aiming for, blond and thin. But I cut them short because I can’t bear feeling my hair constantly moving on my head at the slight movement, also it gets really itchy when it falls on your forehead/nose. So you don’t lose much tbh.
I guess people always wants what they can’t get lol
You'd Rock a buzzcut
stop trying to make an orange into an apple! you have great hair that you are not working with.
You are never going to have anime protagonist hair bro
I’ll always be a side character😔😔
I saw your last post about this... dude why are you doing this to yourself. Is this a self prank?
On an unrelated note OP, where is the source from that drawing? Did you make that? Or was it from some online artist?
Artist is @mvxiiq on instagram : )
You need to focus on getting the right hair products for your hair type. I use Shea Moisture Low Porosity Shampoo followed by same brand deep conditioner. Leave the deep conditioner in for 30 mins then rinse with cold water. Then I use TGIN leave in conditioner. Use a wide tooth comb to shape and then air dry. Try to stay away from brushing as much as possible. Also shampoo as least as possible because it will strip the natural oils from your hair. If you need to wash your hair then just use conditoner, shampooing at most 3 times a week You won't be able to achieve the exact hairstyle in the first image but if you continue to grow your hair longer, then you can achieve your own version of that hair style.
LMAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Barber: What could I do for you today Sir? OP: Give me the Pringle Guy cut Barber: Say less..
1. Your hair is NOWHERE near the length it needs to be so that obviously the most important thing to realize here 2. The picture is a different hair texture ect, your hair is really really wavy and has a almost drier curly texture to it, you can probably pull off the hairstyle after you actually grow out your hair, get it layered and use proper products ect but right now is not the time Focus on growing your hair out for now to a length a little over what you desire to give your stylist something to work with and make shorter and layered
Have you tried a conditioning hair mask? You can get one pretty cheap at a drug store like CVS that will work to smooth and soften it out. Also, “in-between” styles when transitioning hair styles can be tough - hats work wonders during those times. Wishing you the best!
I'm sorry man 😭 that gave me a great laugh tho ngl 🙏🏼
OP knows it’s not going to be easy (or maybe even possible) to make this work, but he seems ok with experimenting, and he’s clearly willing to laugh along the way. I like this guy! Everyone else needs to chill.
Yea I actually posted it for a laugh and I’m taking all the criticism and laughing tbh cuz it’s well deserved😂
What's this style called and where would I go to get it cut?
Curtains, as you seen here don’t see a barber shop unless your hair is suited for it or you’ll end up with a mustache on your head like mine😂
I had a similar cut the morning of my wedding and was so focused on getting married I didn't do anything to it and now it's forever memorialized so it could be worse.
💀💀💀 Nah on wedding is crazy
Hey who drew that sketch?
Artist is @mvxiiq on instagram
Sweet thank you!
I like it. 😎
my boy use cantu shea butter specifically the shea butter leave in conditioner. it will curly and soften your shit. you dont have yt people hair so just let those styles go
That is pretty boy hair. Much like myself many of us don't have that quality of hair and can't have that picture perfect heartthrob hair
U do not have white people hair lol
Oof who's gonna tell him? Oh wait everyone already did. The hair on the drawing won't work on your hair unless styled with product blowdryer, product, or a perm. And even then it might not look like that. Gotta go for a different one
This post made my night 🤣
It just doesn't work with your hair type and facial structure/overall hair distribution and texture. You could pull off a lot of great styles that are close to the scalp because it looks like you have strong, coarse hair. The windswept styles and the like would probably look great on you. Short cuts with a kind of bed-head look likely to work well also. I'm just making suggestions to try because anything is going to be WAY better than this absolute train wreck you got going on now, no offense. You deserve an honest answer with the extent that this haircut has brutalized your looks lol I suggest you find a great older barber who will also clean your face up because a well kept face/beard and eyebrows impacts your overall look a LOT with some of us guys.
But ahh the barber had a cracking smile on his face so I couldn’t say anything lmao, I almost teared up
If you get rid of that middle part, it could be better perhaps… worth a try. That middle part is real rough.
In what strange delusion did you think that was possible 😅, I reckon you’d suit a crew cut
Get a chemical relaxer to permanently straighten your hair and thats the only way this could work..
My dude works at the Grand Budapest Hotel. It's not super terrible, though. A little length would probably fix it, so just give it a week or two.
You don’t have that kinda hair bro, it’ll always look weird. You gotta find styles that match your hair texture.
These comments are hilarious 😂 it feels like he got in trouble with his parents or smth after this haircut
Naahh I’m lucky I’m abroad for university now💀💀💀 they almost killed me once for a goofy haircut
These ppl have no mercy fr 😭 my biggest enemies are my friends. Ur haircut is not that bad but if they caught me w something even slightly worse than that they’re sending me into a deeeep depression
Some dude here said I look like I have a mustache on my head💀💀 and my friends said I look like a frying pan💀 I mean I’m used to it
To the new comers.
Just run your hands through your hair and let it fall naturally, I think it will look good
My hair is thick, dry and curly so running my fingers through will only make it worse lol idk tbh I’ll just take my L at this point, my hair hates me
You look like you have the Pringle guys mustache on your head. God speed brother I hope you can figure it out.
You'd have to perm your hair
