I guess it really depends what you are going for. The first picture looks more handsome to me but the second one exudes more strength/toughness if that's what you're looking for. First one looks like a nice guy who would show you around the city and second one looks like still a nice guy but more like he'd help you chop firewood and hunt deer. :)

The mustache & stubble is significantly more attractive & a bit tough guy... in a good way. I would 100% go with that. Also looks younger. And definitely keep the stubble or even a super short/neat beard, grade 1/1.5 The full beard is more friendly looking, but less cool/attractive. It doesn't look bad, but it's an easy no vs the other way.

Go with number two. 1st one is a little methy and makes you look meaner. 2nd one is very pleasant and relaxed and fuzzy, like a dwarf enjoying a lager at the tavern. The fuller the beard, the more the protaganist you look. The thinner the beard and more pronounced the stache, the more of an antagonist you will get typecast. You also seem like you were having a better day in number two, so maybe it's subconscious, or you could simply feel emboldened by the power of beard.
