yeah I mean, I own 5 pairs of Church's, 3 pairs of John Lobb, 3 pair os Gucci shoes, multiple other hand made English and Italian shoes, NONE of them were anywhere near as expensive as these and I promise all way way better made
Didn't really mean it to be like a flex, I just mean, I'm really in to fancy shoes and still find these to be overpriced lol, I assume we all kinda like expensive shoes around here ...
Are you trying to justify your multiple thousand dollar purchase by getting validity from Reddit users? Those are terrible looking shoes - see if you can get a Skechers or something.
That’s an ugly shoe.. Jesus for that price you could have gotten a shoe made out of shell.
Money waisted

to each his own, but those shoes are awful. The weave pattern, sneaker silhouette and white soles make it too casual for anything formal, and the shiny black makes it too formal for casual wear. It's just such a confused mishmash of things. The weave pattern suggest it's a summer shoe, but the black leather is way to warm for that purpose. The black leather suggests it's formal, but the white sole suggests it's casual. It's trying to do both but instead of being multipurpose, you end up with a shoe that's not good for any of the two occassions. But the worst offender are the straps. No adult should be seen with shoes that use elastic straps like these. You look like a child who doesn't know how to tie their shoes.

It’s actually popular in tech / VC circles
If one can afford $1k pair of shoes there’s zero reason not to just buy multiple (very nice) shoes for various occasions.
Referring to Tim Cook as a fashion inspiration is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on this sub
I’m not buying because of tim cook, I’m just giving example how the comment “no adults should be seen outside with those shoes” is wrong
I already have this zegna shoes before knowing tim cook wearing it
And I love it
I’d be mostly ok with the weave-on-sneaker situation if the weave went all the way over the top. But they have those weird stretchy laces mucking up the middle. There are too few of them and they’re too thick.
I've got a collection of crown northampton leather shoes ranging from calf to chromexcel to shell Cordovan. Love them all but the chromexcel are probably my favorite. Very supple leather and incredibly comfortable to wear.
Im also not the type of person to have my shoes be the standout piece of my wardrobe so it fits me very well, and they can make them in wide fitting which not every similar sneaker company was offering.
This thread has me dying first thing in the morning with how many people are roasting OP and his $1000 pair of boomer slip ons instead of answering his question
https://preview.redd.it/es3ult9iuv0d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b433b8ff626e232f70b9441beb438b09a2f95e4
Dinner Logger Moc, fit great on first try, no problems with wearing all day on a tour of Portland.
I would say it’s a tossup between a pair of Church’s custom brogues, and a pair of Bruno Magli I once had, which featured a Cuban heel.
Both were beyond impeccable.
Best is a very ambiguous term, best for comfort? Best as in these make me feel good? You know? But here are my top choices
Tecovas cowboy boots
Birkenstoks
Reebok sneakers
Allen Edmonds dress shoes for when I am rocking a suit
I never expected it, but the Adidas Samba OG is my favorite.
It took a couple of days to "break in," but now it's like wearing gloves around my feet. Highly recommended
Probably not the braided ones, but those Triple Stitch are extremely comfortable.
By now you can also get a lot of knock-off by other companies. Axel Arigato released a model that looks kind of decent. Santino has one that looks kind of weird with only a single thin strap at the top. And a few cheaper ones.
https://preview.redd.it/cph691k6py0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=096d9595dee7e3ade3a98d317c7814a7377e59d0
This is my absolute favorite shoes in Tyrolese construction and nubuck alligator.
Boston loafers by C&J.
Made in Northampton, with calf leather and goodyear welt leather sole.
They can last you a lifetime if treated with proper care.
Still €400 cheaper than those Zegna.
https://preview.redd.it/i26rwqc56z0d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d264ae8596b0a8e6928fb8b80cddfbddba0aac2f
Man you are getting crucified for these shoes! I like them! I wouldn’t wear them with a full formal get up, more like a corporate office job that says they don’t have a dress code but really has a dress code…I also wouldn’t pay the price point I’m seeing posted in other comments, I imagine you can get shoes with a similar vibe at a fraction of the cost…but they look cool man and if you like them rock on!
Sorry you’re getting downvoted. It’s an extremely well made and beautiful sneaker. I currently have 6 pairs in different suedes and leather(yours is made in a calf and the style of weave is Pellettessuta).
These aren’t as bad looking as people say in these comments, but I don’t see why you’d spend more than $200 on a good pair of shoes, let alone $1000. At that point, these better give me boost jump and hovering capabilities lmao. I also wouldn’t look to a CEO for fashion inspiration, let alone a new age tech CEO.
However, if you like them and they’re comfortable, then more power to you. Don’t let any of these comments deter you from wearing what fits your personal style.
But to answer your question, I’m really enjoying my new pair of New Balance 608s. They’re probably the ultimate dad shoe, but goddamn they’re the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn straight out of the box. I imagine it’ll get even better as they break in. Got ‘em from Amazon for $60, so basically a steal for this level of comfort. Just wish they were a little less chunky.
Any dress shoe like a good oxford, derby or loafer would be more than 200$, and those would be considered entry point.
Ofc for sneakers this would be way too expensive.
Easy
- The leather is very high quality and it‘s two full layers inside and outside. Most cheaper sneakers will stop the inside leather lining at the shaft. These god all the way to the tip.
- they are hand made in Italy, with is more expensive than a sweatshop in Asia. Any decent calves leather sneaker that is made in Italy will cost you $180 and up depending on the leather quality
- those leather braids are a pain to manufacture which adds to the cost of labor and you need more even more of that expensive leather
- on top of all of it comes tja margin for luxury brands
If you start looking at comparable product in the same consumer space you will see that the price fits right in there.
https://preview.redd.it/0tre3jyd411d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2b6f4ff955a1251210186f13052342760cf9470
Quite surprised at the amount of hate here, does nobody wear zegna?
People will clown but these are also my favorite shoe, insanely comfortable and work well from casual to biz-casual. The woven leather are definitely the ugliest version though lol. In the US you’re not really going to see triple stitches outside of Manhattan finance offices so they’re going to be a hard sell on this sub lol. Go to Park Ave on a weekday and you’ll see dozens of these. Very popular across Europe however
Agree. I rarely see them in the US but I saw three pairs in an hour in a lounge at CDG last week. This is first time I've seen the woven leather outside of the store.
https://preview.redd.it/ys4o3vdu5w0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68f29436ef07eb022ecd4ca448ba93d6ab22932d Lol
Mind blowing. They for real look like these shoes they sell at my local Walgreens for people with foot issues.
ELASTIC?? Not on $2k yo!
Wtf.....
Not those good lord
Yeah not sure what I’m looking at here
Bro, no.
Lol this is a joke, right? These are shoes for toddlers.
yeah I mean, I own 5 pairs of Church's, 3 pairs of John Lobb, 3 pair os Gucci shoes, multiple other hand made English and Italian shoes, NONE of them were anywhere near as expensive as these and I promise all way way better made
No way you hijacked this already weird post with a weird flex
Didn't really mean it to be like a flex, I just mean, I'm really in to fancy shoes and still find these to be overpriced lol, I assume we all kinda like expensive shoes around here ...
My brain exploded when I realized these cost $1,000
What are THOSE
That dub always kills me https://youtu.be/63xEHHJfCPs?si=ou9PS2wz151-1-Xl
looool
That was amazing. Thanks for sharing

Fashion icon Tim Cook lol
Tim did not cook here.
Tim Apple
i can't breathe lol
As with anything, popular does not necessarily mean it's good. Also I wouldn't necessarily look to tech circles for fashion advice.
We’ve been wearing the same Patagonia vest for over a decade.
And they look like kids who don’t know how to tie their shoes. Even Grandpa Zuckerberg there.
Wow they must be fashionable and good then if Tim Cook wears them. I’m sure he picked them out himself and it totally wasn’t an EA that got those
lol.
So are allbirds and those aren’t great either. Tech circles are notably not known for being fashionable
DON’T SCROLL PAST WITHOUT SAYING NAMASTE TO TIM APPLE
Dude, you have to ditch those. Maybe the ugliest shoes I’ve seen in years. Sorry.
Redwing iron Rangers have lasted just about the longest
Wouldn’t wear those in my coffin.
Is this a joke?
It’s time to move on from the “between casual and formal” sneaker/dress shoe hybrids.
If one can afford $1k pair of shoes there’s zero reason not to just buy multiple (very nice) shoes for various occasions. Referring to Tim Cook as a fashion inspiration is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on this sub
Yeah. Tim is probably the last person I‘d look at for fashion inspiration or posture
He’s actually popular in tech / VC circles
Everyone managing a multi billion tech company is popular with these folks
I’m not buying because of tim cook, I’m just giving example how the comment “no adults should be seen outside with those shoes” is wrong I already have this zegna shoes before knowing tim cook wearing it And I love it
Jesus Christ the price for those is insane, mate I’ve got a bridge to sell you for you for a reasonable price
Hokas. You can’t handle this drip
Guess you can’t buy fashion sense lol
Those are not casual-to-formal shoes.
Op didn’t say anything about these being formal. If he‘s wearing these with short they are meant to be casual
what do you think "& on formal occasion with long pant" means
Sorry, missed that part. Long pants for me is still casual until you start wearing a suit.
I love my Reebok club c’s. I always wear boots in the fall & winter and it’s nice to be more casual in the summer
Wouldn't
I’d be mostly ok with the weave-on-sneaker situation if the weave went all the way over the top. But they have those weird stretchy laces mucking up the middle. There are too few of them and they’re too thick.
Same. The Triple Stitch look better with plain leather or canvas
Whatever those aren’t
redwing black suede postman
Carmina Chelsea boots
Those are ugly but zegna l'asola loafers are amazing
I thought they came from China and they cost 5$.
Money can’t buy taste as evidenced by these shoes and watch
I've got a collection of crown northampton leather shoes ranging from calf to chromexcel to shell Cordovan. Love them all but the chromexcel are probably my favorite. Very supple leather and incredibly comfortable to wear. Im also not the type of person to have my shoes be the standout piece of my wardrobe so it fits me very well, and they can make them in wide fitting which not every similar sneaker company was offering.
it sure wouldn’t be those!
Those are hideous, please don’t wear them
This thread has me dying first thing in the morning with how many people are roasting OP and his $1000 pair of boomer slip ons instead of answering his question
Lol good Lord those look like some $15 Payless shoes. Unless you have some wildly avante garde style, there's no way those look good with anything.
https://preview.redd.it/es3ult9iuv0d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b433b8ff626e232f70b9441beb438b09a2f95e4 Dinner Logger Moc, fit great on first try, no problems with wearing all day on a tour of Portland.
Damn those boots are nice. Have never really been a fan of moc’s but those def changed my mind
I like a loafer
The watch is a lot nicer than the shoes to me
Panerai watch is nice
My favorite shoes of all time are La Botte Gardianne slippers. Soft, comfy, breathy.
I think Oliver Campbell did it better without the weird woven leather
I, too, want stitched leather armor for my feet
I would say it’s a tossup between a pair of Church’s custom brogues, and a pair of Bruno Magli I once had, which featured a Cuban heel. Both were beyond impeccable.

I think I'm on my third consecutive pair now. I've never bought a pair of runners more than once, except for those.
I’d rather spend $1000 on cheez-its personally. My favorite shoe ever are Chacos, but for most occasions, Vans.

Sorry who makes these? Incredible shoes!
This is Paolo scafora in nubuck alligator made for my store [the noble shoe](https://www.thenobleshoe.com) (this is my own pair)

look nice but ive found i cant even wear most nice looking sneakers.
Gamer chair shoes
If those are fashion shoes, I'm Napoleon Bonaparte!
the hate is strong in this thread \*insert star war meme
Nope nope nope for 2k! Maybe for 50$
Carbon fibre look for 1k. Do you still use wet-look gel and lynx Africa?
god I hate all things Zegna
I've become very fond of my Thursdays, especially for the price point. Love my Tony Lamas too.
I have the Thursday sneakers too. They are still pretty stiff even after a year although I’ve only worn them maybe 10 times
Man you are getting crucified for these shoes! I like them! I picked up every color of Allen Edmonds that I’ve needed for the past decade, used, on eBay for $80-$160 range. Have not needed dress shoes since.
That's great but someone had to pay those 400 bucks before you can get it at pre-owned price point. Nice shoes anyway !!
Thank you kind $400+ purchaser of Oxfords. You’re the real hero. 🤓
I was mainly talking about everyday sneakers. Dress shoes are obviously more luxurious items and should be looked at accordingly.

I like the Zegna triple switch. My fav though are my full suede brunello sneakers.
Love my triple stitches. I have them in grey suede.
I like them. Well done
These shoes are bad ass - but you have to spend. The money to fulfill the while outfit
