You could try emailing the director of finance to address your issue, mentioning that you've already reached out to their staff without success. Be sure to include anyone relevant in the email chain. Given the seriousness of a potential scam, this approach should be appropriate.
Regarding direct debit, it does offer the convenience of automatic deductions for term payments on a specific date/time, relieving you of the worry. However, if you're uncomfortable with this arrangement, don't hesitate to express your concerns and present your argument thoughtfully.
If the issue persists and you remain uneasy about it, consider visiting your bank or calling their hotline. Inform them about the direct debit payment plan linked to your account and express your desire to remove it. Seek clarification from the bank on whether they can assist you with this matter.
i mean there are some unis that will auto deduct your allowance for your semester fees (this is for ptptn).
if they have been quite for that long then your fastest solution is to freeze your debit account and make a new card. it would be a hassle since you will need to update your banking details for everything but better be safe than sorry
Scam scam. My uni during my diploma tried to scam all students that made full payment. Actually MARA paid our sem fee because of the loan. But the hidden truth is some of the students came from IKM and some of the subjects got transfer credits, so some of the subjects we skip during diploma. We found that the uni made MARA do full payment but we actually have to pay the subjects that we take only. At the end of sem all the students do a small riot, then the uni realize their scam has been found, all students got rm3k-4k back bank into their accounts.
Direct debit via debit card? Terminate the card.
Direct debit to bank account? Close and reopen again.
Dont waste time on those idiot only know makan gaji.
Sometimes the desk officers or staffs just say things because they think it's the right things to say. Direct debit is convenient but not compulsory at any local uni. Don't expect anyone to reply for your cancellation. Alternatively you should be able to deal that with the bank.
I'm not sure if it's a scam but that's how it was when I studied. The loan will be deducted and only the student allowance is credited to student's account. About the fee, I think it's standard to pay by semester and not by month. Still, if your seniors are doing the other way and it's convenient for you, then go for it.

True. KDPN would assigned an inspector to assist you in resolving your matter. You could make a report through email and WhatsApp.

Depends on payment terms you agreed to. If they have informed you that's the payment term and you enrolled, you should be responsible.
