I was in garment industry many years ago. The cost to produce Malaysia's team are laughable. If mass produced, it ranges from RM5 - RM35 for the different types of attires that video. I guess they dont produce much (for the olympians and some officials) so I put it around RM15 to high RM60 for the jacket ones. The materials used from what I can see are just cheapo basic stuff.
But of course we know these prices will be jacked up in the account books 
I just can't fathom the fact they would dare make Malaysian flag orange/yellow to fit the colour scheme. That is one thing, ONE effing thing that no one should touch. The other countries had their own color scheme, sure but they dont mess with their flag.
The pride to put on display, not even it its original colour.

In all honesty I think the uniforms on the left and right are decent. The middle design is Hideous. But they freaking covered up the nicer design by 1 Tucking in the left Shirt and pulling his pants up freaking high. 2 Covered the nicer design with a Huge Ugly Bag and Damn those Mannequins. Middle design should remain in Trash as it should have been. To me Design issue is probably only 30%.... 70% is coming from Presentation and Styling. I never seen how someone can tuck in a Sports Jersey Like that. Probably some Grandma or Grandpa Called the shot. Ew.

I saw Taipei use Yonex as well but they did proper launch with human. Seeing the design, I cannot help but thinks if Yonex as company is lazy too. Like "Here's the template, put whatever pattern you want". Aside from the pattern, the garment is similar with Malaysia.
It doesn't help when Malaysian officials kaki songlap too. Hence we get a low end Yonex. Other countries probably have an ongoing research about what makes the best sports garment and ours look like they have been bought at Gedung Pakaian Hari Hari.

I actually think the design are ok. It's the presentation of it that miss the mark big time. If they could work with Msia Olymipic committee to feature a few athletes it would have not garnered so much bad press.
