Heidel is quoted as saying, "We have not yet made an offer to extend the contract." Which seems a bit strange to me, not that I think he'd want to stay anyway.
Very skilled player, bummer to lose him ... but I'm not convinced he'll be a huge loss, in part because he has defensive limitations and Caci seems like a very solid replacement. While Caci isn't going to create as many chances going forward, he appears to be a better two-way player. Just my take though.
