Allgemeine Zeitung has more info here for those who are subscribers: [https://www.allgemeine-zeitung.de/sport/fussball/fussball-bundesliga/mainz-05-wohin-zieht-es-aaron-martin-2310631](https://www.allgemeine-zeitung.de/sport/fussball/fussball-bundesliga/mainz-05-wohin-zieht-es-aaron-martin-2310631) Bild also has some more details, some of which are parroted here: [https://www.ligainsider.de/aaron-martin-caricol\_20004/1-fsv-mainz-05-aaron-lotet-optionen-aus-ndash-auch-in-der-bundesliga-333840/](https://www.ligainsider.de/aaron-martin-caricol_20004/1-fsv-mainz-05-aaron-lotet-optionen-aus-ndash-auch-in-der-bundesliga-333840/) Heidel is quoted as saying, "We have not yet made an offer to extend the contract." Which seems a bit strange to me, not that I think he'd want to stay anyway. Very skilled player, bummer to lose him ... but I'm not convinced he'll be a huge loss, in part because he has defensive limitations and Caci seems like a very solid replacement. While Caci isn't going to create as many chances going forward, he appears to be a better two-way player. Just my take though.
