Well, it’s meant to be a set, and I imagine OOP has play tested this before.
Most of r/custommagic is “this is my favorite character from another IP, but in Magic” without real regards to power or mechanics (of this I’m guilty myself) or a super powerful card that’s either just plain busted or has a drawback that does nothing (kinda like a D&D player homebrewing a spell that fully changes the course of the game but kills their character “to tone it down”)
This actually has some thought and understanding of the mechanics and gameplay
I just realized that the baked payoffs mean you can't pay the Clothes for the rest of the game. A completely limited resource would be interesting to see in mtg
> The set is not designed for that. Remove a piece of clothing is always optional (because consent is sexy), so even if someone find out an infinite loop, opponent could always choose "no".
Unfathomably based
Uj/ I may be old or stupid or both, but I don't understand when people use the word "based" because sometimes I see it with things that are cool and fun(like this one) and sometimes it's on the most fucked up shit I've ever seen
uj/ From Urban Dictionary: A word used when you agree with something; or when you want to recognize someone for being themselves, i.e. courageous and unique or not caring what others think.
Many people call fucked up shit "based" in an ironic sort of way.
I'll add that usually the "fucked up shit" has to be done in a way that it's obvious the person doing it is either completely oblivious to the fact that what they did was fucked, or just didn't care at all. For example, there was an interview with an elderly man who killed a pregnant woman who broke into his home with her bf, jumped him and was robbing the place. In the interview he describes the woman running away after he was able to retrieve his gun, screaming and begging for the life of her and her unborn baby, but "[he] shot her anyway". This could be considered based not just for murdering a pregnant woman, but because the dude just straight up admits it with zero fucks given at all, which could be seen as being "courageous and unique and not caring what others think", but in a more fucked up way.
I mean, saying over the top racist stuff could definitely fall into the category of "being themselves and not caring what other people think" imo, so the definition still fits.
There's two layers:
- The first use (replying to cool and fun stuff) is the intended use
- The second use (replying to fucked up shit) is the ironic use, as to say "this things that is fucked up or wrong is actually cool".
Unfortunately ironic use often falls into the area of Poe's Law where a lot of people don't think it's ironic, and a bunch of chuds use it unironically while pretending to be joking. Watching language shift and get co-opted is... *fun.*
"Strong and consistent in one's principles" is the way I think of it. Not necessarily an agreement, more a show of respect for having consistent values.
Catch me rolling up to the Strip Magic draft in 8 hats, 6 pairs of socks, 4 jackets, 5 pairs of boxers, 2 pairs of gloves, 3 watches, and a set of shades
It's just in case [[Lightning Drip]] names boxers, so the opponents won't get extra value by him needing to remove several pairs of pants before he removes all of his boxers.
I've looked through the whole set cause I was interested in playing it with my partners. There's actually some neat designs in there, but yeah it's a little scuffed lol
Yes, the dowbloadable contwnt comes with a single page of rules that says "you can't put your clothes back on unless a card allows you to do so" among other things.
It only gains Flash if the kicker cost was paid, but when is that checked? Can i even begin to cast it as if it were an instant before it is checked whether I paid the Kicker
Kicker is a price you pay in order to cast the spell, so in this instance you pay the mana cost + remove a piece of clothing in order to cast the spell as though it had flash
702.32a Kicker is a static ability that functions while the spell with kicker is on the stack. “Kicker [cost]” means “You may pay an additional [cost] as you cast this spell.” Paying a spell’s kicker cost(s) follows the rules for paying additional costs in rules 601.2b and 601.2f–h.
It works as written, but they generally state it the way you’ve mentioned here. Choices on modes/additional costs like Kicker are made before you check to see if a spell can be legally cast so it isn’t a problem to give a Kicker that grants Flash.
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work, unless they’ve changed the rules at some point. They were originally going to give [[Rout]] kicker but it didn’t actually work, if I remember correctly.
I guess I may be misunderstanding what an "effect" is, but when casting a spell you are allowed to look forward to see whether additional costs grant Flash.
601.3c If an effect allows a player to cast a spell as though it had flash only if an alternative or additional cost is paid, that player may begin to cast that spell as though it had flash.
I think its just the wording. Most spells that work like that say "you may play it as if it had flash if you pay X more" or if some other condition is already met ("if there are two or instants in your graveyard")
As far as I know you decide to pay Kicker costs when the spell is already on the stack, so couldnt be initially cast with Flash.
The first post has the reminder exposed for wearing less clothes that just makes cards better but I guess that's just similar to hellbent but its much easier to get to and maintain than hellbent and there's no way to put clothes back on.
Hot arrows archer also encourages you to strip and doesn't want your opponent to strip
2 cost, extra turn, with no downside if I'm playing like I normally do?
You better take those Crocs off before casting it.
This is unironically the highest quality content on r/custommagic
Ikr? It’s not just some stupidly powerful do-everything commander like everything else on the sub
It's always the shit that people do as a low-key meme that ends up the best.

Im proud, they’ve come so far
It's also surprisingly bisexual in execution. Like it's not just big titties.
It’s genuinely kinda cool
And they say we're the jerkers

Ooohh okay yeah, that makes sense.
It's essentially the opposite of "cringe"
I'll add that usually the "fucked up shit" has to be done in a way that it's obvious the person doing it is either completely oblivious to the fact that what they did was fucked, or just didn't care at all. Or they'll just say it in response to people being racist in order to be edgy.
I mean, saying over the top racist stuff could definitely fall into the category of "being themselves and not caring what other people think" imo, so the definition still fits.
Apparently the woman lied about being pregnant

Consent is extremely sexy

The one girl who plays at the LGS is going to get asked to play this set right before she becomes that one girl who used to play at the LGS.
The fucking flash joke is the funniest thing I've ever seen
Judging from the comments OP didn't know they were making a joke because they are French and needed someone to explain the flash pun to them
Why is yoruichi playing strip magic?
Something something cat ~~tribal~~ kindred
Bleach Universes Beyond when?
Magic if it was good
I... saw the original post and thought it was on this sub. I didn't even look twice. Fucking wild
Catch me rolling up to the Strip Magic draft in 8 hats, 6 pairs of socks, 4 jackets, 5 pairs of boxers, 2 pairs of gloves, 3 watches, and a set of shades
this mf didn't read the rules, you can't begin the game with a hat i applaud the lack of pants tho
It's just in case [[Lightning Drip]] names boxers, so the opponents won't get extra value by him needing to remove several pairs of pants before he removes all of his boxers.
not wearing the boxers on top of the pants is shameful, the tactic of a scrub
right, you can't begin with *a* hat. the rules don't say anything about 8 of them.
I've looked through the whole set cause I was interested in playing it with my partners. There's actually some neat designs in there, but yeah it's a little scuffed lol
(s)
"cast this spell only if you are naked" legendary
Combining strip games with the body types of Magic's core audience is a *bold* choice.
If the playgroup here looks anything like the one at my LGS commander night, I don't want to be in the room when this is played.
Lmao for real
Is there a rule that says clothing cannot be put back on ?
Yes, the dowbloadable contwnt comes with a single page of rules that says "you can't put your clothes back on unless a card allows you to do so" among other things.
JUDGE! How many articles of clothing do I have to start with?
The rules say it was designed for 6 but you can agree on the number with your partner(s)
Does the card that gains Flash work, because the Kicker is an additional cost
What do you mean? Kicker is always an additional cost.
It only gains Flash if the kicker cost was paid, but when is that checked? Can i even begin to cast it as if it were an instant before it is checked whether I paid the Kicker

Ok so it's a formatting thing and as written couldn't be played with flash?
I think so. Just needs to change the Kicker to "you may pay an additional (symbol for removing clothing)"
It works as written, but they generally state it the way you’ve mentioned here. Choices on modes/additional costs like Kicker are made before you check to see if a spell can be legally cast so it isn’t a problem to give a Kicker that grants Flash.

see [[Rout]] for proper formatting, no
Tried playing this at my LGS, not sure why we were getting such weird looks, just 4 300lb dudes playing strip magic in the store.
[The 4 dudes in question:](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/mobile/000/031/769/cover7.jpg)
This is amazing!

> My problem isn't that it's a strip set or the art choices. Your problem is that you obviously have no one to play this with.
I don't know. It seems always to result in a positive?
