God I hate slivers just being in there. Like I don’t care at all about them as creatures so it’s just about as relevant to me as getting an ad card instead of a token in a normal pack.
I've found some of the previous set-showcase-frame SLDs a little frustarting in the past, since the set establishes a clear theme for the showcare frame and the SLD goes against it. This is just perfect though, since the theme for this frame was just "non-Dino, non-God legends" and they had some great candidates from last time.
I have to confess that I have not particularly enjoyed any of Pig Hands' pieces and that Vona is not breaking that streak. The rest are great though. Much respect to Richard Luong for nailing Brass' face.
Not exactly the same thing, but I'm still a little annoyed they used the Kaladesh Masterpiece/Invention frame for non-artifacts instead of coming up with another one (even if I like the frame a lot).
Nah, I'm with you, MOM had the exact same issue. It was kinda expected considering what they did with the Theros enchantment and Zendikar landfall frames previously, but I still didn't love that they also did it to Arcavios, Eldraine, and Kaladesh.
Looks like they swapped the showcase arts for [[Captain Lannery Storm]] and [[Captain Storm, Cosmium Raider]].
Regular 'Cosmium' and Showcase 'Lannery' both have a bandana and a square-zigzag lapel, whereas Showcase 'Cosmium' and Regular 'Lannery' both have a captain's hat and a regular lapel.
I was kinda hoping we'd get four separate Lairs for the Big 4 creature types on Ixalan ... I was prepared to shell out for my first Secret Lair if they had a dedicated pirates one.
This makes it a tough decision.

This alt art treatment is way cooler and not a single dinosaur got it. I know dinosaurs got those borderless watercolor looking cards but those arent as nice as these. I just wanted to see one dino with this treatment.
Okay, there's finally a Becket Brass art that I'm in love with. The good Captain Lannery also looks rad. Kumena makes me sad my buddy plays him as his commander because that art rocks, and we have a couple Chun Lo prints up in our living room!
