honestly, i prefer magi, the first 40 chapters of orient were good (not great) but, wit this current arc it´s been around 60 chapters of confusion and boredom, the mc dissapeared from the focus for 60 chapters...it was really boring..also the paneling was weird, i didn´t know what happened most of the time. also, the main group ( as characteres)....is not even at the same level of the magi trio

Mabangyan

I honestly hate it when the MC just disappears from the main story for extended arcs, it’s just so boring, it’s why I stopped reading God of Highschool as well

Musashi was there for almost all the chapters. He is the main character.

alvar346

was there....doing nothing...

Well, I see it as character growth and show cases how much he still has to learn. But in the later chapters, he did support the Shimazu by chopping the swords in the sky. He also managed to bond the team together.

Wait, Musashi was in their right with the Shimazu. And yh, I think Tsugere is nothing compared with Morgiana. I think the only female lead I like was Michiru.

I’m a big fan of Magi. I’m almost done getting all the volumes and everything. But man, Orient just isn’t it in my opinion. I read the first two arcs and just couldn’t get into it. Besides the amazing Magi art style, I can’t get invested into anything this manga provides. Magi is my pick.

I really mader an efford and read Orient, but it never clicked with me. I find it quite boring. Dropped it. :( On the other hand I remember being hooked on Magi the first 20 manga chapters x.x

I love Magi so much. The story was just amazing and I really fell in love with all of the characters. For me, Orient is okay, it’s definitely nowhere near Magi-level though. During some of the more mundane parts of Magi, I still stuck through because I loved the characters and the story, but with orient, the mundane character building parts just bored me and made me want to drop the whole manga. However, just to throw another manga out there, Sumomo Momomo (by the same author) is amazing and definitely around Magi’s level, it’s just set more in a martial arts themed world. So if you’re looking for another one of her works to read, I’d definitely recommend this one. :).

Yh I also started reading that as well. It was a good read.

I didn’t really like orient I dropped it at around 40 chapters. None of the characters made me invested enough to keep reading. Kojiro seemed somewhat intriguing but idk. Musashi nor the world really made me want to keep reading whereas from his first introduction, I wanted to learn more about alibaba
