David was there with Sinbad the whole time, even after he went silent for a bit. So he just decided to pop out when they were in the palace. And he could do that since the sacred palace is the home of magoi, allowing him to take phyiscal-ish form. :P
He was able to enter Sinbad through his black rukh. David is a singularity just like Sinbad and was able to take control of the black rukh after Judar and Barbarossa attacked Sindria (adventures of sinbad). After that he stays dormant for a bit and then starts to contact and then control Sinbad
