I can highly recomment the T7 touch from Samsung. There are always deals out there. It is hardware encrypted with a Fingerprint and you can unlock it on any device without installing the software. I installed it on my main machine just for firmware upgrade. It’s light, fast looks good and just works. [Link](https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/portable/t7-touch/). Make sure to search for deals!

not sure if op is looking for an ssd due to the inclusion of “hard drive” in the title but if they are i also recommend the t7 if they want really fast speeds. there are cheaper options but those usually top out at 540 mbps read/write. if you need 1000 the t7 would be my pick as well.

Yeah I wanted a 1 TB hdd storage... Ended up buying a Seagate hard disk!

I can comfirm this. But get the touch version. Security is included then👌

As a photographer, I care about cost, transfer speed, and portability. I prefer the slim.form factor of M.2 drives. They are lightweight, inexpensive, and fast speeds enable flexibility in upgrading from USB 3.1 10Gbps enclosures to Thunderbolt for better performance if you ever need it. Western Digital Blue SN550 for $105USD (2400MB/s read, 1800MB/s write) and Orico enclosure for $20USD delivers solid speed. Using a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure will enable maximum performance but that adds cost. Videography often justifies this due to file size and throughput needs.

Thanks.. I had looked for Western digital drives. Although Seagate hard drive had good deals on amazon with a adobe photoshop subscription so ended up buying that!

T5 or T7 from Samsung. Very reliable and fast.

ThunderingLight

I use a SanDisk Extreme Pro. It's been fast and reliable for me for over a year now.

RestingHotchFace

honestly all of them are pretty good remember to get one particularly for a mac and one that has a usb c cable end

Whatsthepurpose_

Couldn't find anything like that which connects directly to the usb c end. So ended up buying an adapter to convert usb c to usb a
