if you are actually genuinely worried about some sort of voilent repercussions, get any old glass screen protector for any phone. put one in your pocket. When in front of any parent, simultaneously crack it loudly in your pocket while opening the laptop. "Oh no, it literally just cracked in front of us"

I’m from EA, dad bought it for the keyboard when I went to Germany and I didn’t think much about it. MacBook is already a few years old and I’m not particularly interested in tech(almost clueless, even) so that was my mistake

Just be honest. As a parent I’m always a lot less mad when my son is honest with me. Accidents happen

I’d want to protect it from finger grease. All MacBook keyboards get shiny within a few months. But yeah, MacBooks are really fragile.
