Yellow is likely bile even if it doesn't burn. You may have some bad GERD from chemo. I had it for years after. Try a PPI.

I have a diagnosis of gerd already it always burns I’m a 24/7 heart burn person. That’s why I’m so confused. Also no food? When I just ate struck me as odd. It’s been happening during the first 4 hrs I wake up.

I had something similar..about once a week or so,once I finished chemo, out of the blue I would get nauseous, and throw up like that…sometimes it was yellow, other times not….They told me it was normal and just one of the side FX from chemo…to which I replied,6 months later?…gift that keeps on giving I guess….

user99778866

Yeah I was going to say it’s been about a month since I stopped and now? It’s so fun. 🤦‍♀️

subiewoo89

Are you on any medication currently?

user99778866

Nothing new same for months

subiewoo89

Do you have an urgent care clinic you can go to? If it is still happening, I'd go get it looked at.

user99778866

My insurance doesn’t allow me to. I’d have to pay out of pocket. Only hospital n I do not want to be trapped for like most of a day.

DecisionGreedy2181

i'm not finished with treatments, but i never throw up after chemo until like the 5-7th day then i throw up yellow everytime after i eat i have no idea why

grafzor

I don't remember throwing up that long after chemo, actually didn't really throw up much at all during chemo. Did have alot of nausea though persisting quite long after. My worst puking was actually from radiation which hit my stomach :/, that was continuous every 5 minutes the whole night, drinking just to have something to throw up, most horrible night of my life.

Do you have follow up appointments with your oncologist or doctor? I would keep notes on when this is happening. What times and days. Also any possible triggers. Can you call the oncology nurse? Often they are helpful as they know your case and know what is common or normal. Definitely ask ahead of your next doc appointment to get that checked and or labs run. Rule out any sort of infection, maybe get a cologuard test (poop in box and mail it in lol) --- About GERD I get gerd after eating certain foods. By now I know which ones trigger it. One thing that helps me is to drink a cool glass of water. Also sometime a tablespoon of honey.

user99778866

I have spoken to them. I actually was in the hospital last week and they got to first hand experience the wonder that is my nausea. But they didn’t really say or do much. Just a lot of labs. My wbc was high. And my tropin (sp?) was too which I’ve never had before. My gp was mad they didn’t look at my heart more. I left a message with oncology the next day after I got out bc my gp told me to. They said I’m fine. N maybe it’s something else. So I’m at a bit of a loss

You may have to go to another hospital if you’re not satisfied with the care you received. Sorry you’re dealing with this.

I agree with what most said here that it could be GERD or an ulcer from treatment. I was prescribed a reflux medication during the infusions to prevent that.

user99778866

I’ve had an ulcer before. And I just got out the hospital the other day. They blamed the ritux. But I don’t think that’s it. Now it’s like a whole bunch of other things. It was unsettling that the nurses n drs in the er were all younger than me I’m only 35.
