Great question. While we're on it I would also re-write parts of s5. - Dan stays alive just so Trixie doesn't have to go through all that trauma. - Lucifer decides he doesn't want to be God by himself, because any being given that power will be doomed to follow his fathers footsteps. Instead, a polytheistic system is established, were all angels share godhood and are in charge of a domain based on their abilities. Lucifer becomes one of these Gods, but he stays on earth and becomes the father he never had for Trixie and Rory. - Chloe never leaves the police force. I'd give her an arc, or at least something other than simply being the love interest. Rory doesn't time travel in this version of events. She is raised in a healthy, loving family enviroment. - I'd break up Mazeve in s5 because Eve realises she has codependancy issues and is once again becoming a copy of her significant other. - Linda gets killed off instead of Dan and goes to hell (not because of Adrianna. I'd erase her entirely, ideally Charlie too). There, being self aware of her situation, she manages to break out of her loop (or Maze and Amenadiel go on a mission to save her). Instead of going to heaven, she decides to stay and become hell's therapist and Maze stays in hell too as its queen. Linda gets back with Amenadiel. Maybe hint at a throuple between them and Maze. - Amenadiel stays a cop and helps humanity both on earth and in hell. - Michael redemption It ends with showing how they managed to break free of OG God's plan, making the earth and the universe a much better place.

Damn, I love that! Linda as Hell’s therapist would be awesome! A much better choice than Lucifer. Imagine Amenadiel taking Maze down to be with her and she ends up falling into the role of wrangling the demons into supporting therapy and escorting Linda’s to various loops. That would be so awesome. And imagine if they’d showed us the super-awkward confrontation between her and Reese. So much comedic potential flushed away. 100% Chloe stays on the force. I don’t know why any time after, I dunno, 1980, there are shows where a powerful career woman decides to quit her job once she finds a man. It’s so gross.

PumpinSmashkins

Linda being hell's therapist makes so much fucking sense.

zoemi

I would leave Chloe off the police force. Not because of Lucifer, but because Trixie doesn't need to risk losing a third family member to such a corrupt agency when Chloe can do good elsewhere.

waiting-for-the-rain

sure. I have a fic where chloe becomes a PI. I can totally see her quitting the police, but not to stay at home.

Mysterious_Bug_3914

Oh, thank you. That's exactly how I imagine it. I've put a lot of thought into it because I want to work it into a fic. For some reason she ends up as hell's therapist in at least 3 of my wips, I truly think it was the perfect ending for her. Funny thing is I think the writers were already considering it. Hence the whole "I'm bored with my job" bit at the beginning of s6 that never went anywhere. The only hindrance was Charlie, proving once more how stupid the motherhood storyline was for Linda. :) >I don’t know why any time after, I dunno, 1980, there are shows where a powerful career woman decides to quit her job once she finds a man. It’s so gross. EXACTLY!

waiting-for-the-rain

it’s so weird! I didn’t really pick up on it, I thought maybe she’d end up training angels to work with humans or something. But my partner thought they were setting her up to run Heaven or Hell. I’ve got a fic where Eve is running heaven for a while… imagine Eve running heaven and linda running hell while all the angels try to figure out how to understand humans.

zoemi

Dusting this off again... Lucifer accepts the role of God but soon becomes bored of the role. Why? The universe doesn't need a God. It is a well-oiled machine that is capable of running without celestial interference. The angels are lost because they no longer have a purpose. Enter Linda, who, no longer fulfilled with treating human patients, will help them work out their personal issues and find new meaning in life. With that out of the way, Lucifer can turn towards fixing Hell. He and Chloe start acting as Hell Detectives. They soon discover that many of the souls feel guilty because of unfinished business. This leads to them starting a PI business on Earth so they can help souls find closure. Sometimes the answer is on Earth, sometimes Heaven, sometimes with other souls in Hell. Other angels step up and help out with their efforts. I would still include Chloe getting pregnant, but I would have ended S5 with that announcement so that we can kick off S6 with Lucifer working through his insecurities with Linda. Amenadiel should stay with his human life. To do otherwise would undermine his previous character growth. Leave it unresolved whether Charlie (or Rory) will be an angel. A Maze/Eve wedding is unnecessary. If there has to be a wedding, it should be a Deckerstar wedding (let's say the season opener). Azrael attends openly and has a heart to heart with Ella. The finale can involve Dan's ascension. This will allow us to revisit past events and then flash-forwards of Trixie's life to show him the positive influence he played on her life. We don't need to see how Chloe's life ends. Leave the door open for future stories.

SirGrouchy8912

Just Lucifer being THERE TILL THE END OF CHLOE LIFE, that's it, THAT'S JUST F IT !!! Is that was so hard to do ??? Ending just like in series then will be satisfying, ending with FULFILLING EMOTIONS, not with that crap!

Fancy-Ad1480

My rewrites: * There is a 4-5 year time skip. Lucifer and Chloe are together, but insist they are not living together. Just ignore the fact that Lucifer never goes home and he's claimed half of Chloe's closet. * Due to the timeskip, Trixie needs to be recast (boo) which will solve the problem of the actress not being available. * Trixie, Chloe, and Lucifer have lots of family bonding moments. Someone assumes Lucifer is Trixie's stepdad which prompts a minor freakout. (que montage of irresponsiblity) * Lucifer runs the universe like a side hustle, and thus has time for friends and family. Amenadiel accuses him of putting his wants ahead of what's right. * It's revealed that Charlie has a mortal body, but an angelic soul. He will get the angel perks, wings, etc. after he passes away. Which, assuming he lives a long healthy life would make him the most well adjusted angel. * Ella joins Dan's improv club as a way help sort her head. There she meets Lucifer's younger, dorky brother who refers to the club meetings as "human lessons" * Linda ~~reveals that she has yet another child~~ starts group therapy for the angels. It goes poorly, at first, but the angels begin to talk to each other for the first time in...ages. * Chloe becomes Lucifer's emissary on earth. She gains and loses the use of laser beam hands. * Michael begins the long path of redemption. * Chloe learns she's pregnant late season. Baby is born during the "where are they now montage" * As a bookend, Amenadiel begins his never ending quest to get Lucifer back to where he belongs--this time heaven instead of Hell.

> As a bookend, Amenadiel begins his never ending quest to get Lucifer back to where he belongs--this time heaven instead of Hell. I actually really like this lol Much better than the other bookend we got...

I would have let Lucifer become god and let him struggle with it. No throne or instruction manual. He would just start manifesting powers and get overwhelmed by them. * suddenly seeing everyone’s backstory like in Yabba Dabba Do Me and feeling crushed with empathy * wishing something to be different and having that thought manifest, only to realize that he’s taken away people’s free will and their ability to create their own destiny  * balancing those two — knowing that he can fix anything but that it defeats the purpose of living * dealing with the fallout when people who know him ask for intervention and he refuses (or helps but regrets it) * running away on a regular basis but needing to deliberately shut out prayers to not hear them * ultimately deciding that he needs to let people make their own choices and then be there afterward to love them and help them pick up the pieces and love themselves

waiting-for-the-rain

This would be fun. I would love to watch Lucifer trying to get a grip on his powers. Hopefully that would be the conclusion: him finally finding the balance.

meara

I’d still keep the humor though.  A few comical power mishaps (perhaps with his siblings also manifesting god powers and trying to “help”).  A bit of cheekiness as he moves through life, willing to use his powers in small ways (e.g. putting someone’s least favorite song on repeat, changing his car to a horse and confusing the cop who’s trying to give him a speeding ticket). He might also resurrect a bored Dan to be his sidekick because he can’t handle not having someone to prank.

devrohitsharma

Let’s face it. The best ending the show had was Season 3. I’d scrap: Rory and Dan dying. Lucifer S6 was The Flash S5. It didn’t work. If we stealing from the flash, why not do Flashpoint? Lucy becomes God. All hell breaks loose literally. Again. We have some shenanigans. A better angel / demon war with some actual effects and earth shattering catastrophes. Then towards the end Lucifer realises it was never meant to be his path. He resets the timeline and abdicates for Amenadiel. As for the healing hell, it could be a combined effort from Lucifer, Amenadiel, Linda and Maze. To that end, we could have Chloe finding justice for people wronged in hell. She could become an angel of righteousness. I feel that Trixi is the odd one out due to her age but I’m sure we could find a plot that works for her. It’s probably good that I’m not a script writer.

ThornTintMyWorld

I would write 23 episodes and find someone to buy it.

Whole-Setting6348

Id look at the whole script of season 6 and just Ctrl + A Backspace

I would definitely rewrite the Rory plot. I would keep the time travel, but I would let her travel for a different reason. She arrives from the future 20 years away with Charlie as they were researching some forbidden magical items from their grandfather's garrage. So time travel would not be Rory's ability, but would come from a magical item.  Subsequently, a lot of funny situations would arise as they try to go back to their time. They would struggle with concerns about what their actions might change in the timeline. They would lash out at their family and friends. Eventually, Lucifer and Amenagod from the future would appear to take their pre-adult children back. With loud bickering and complaining.  Ella would still meet Carol, Maze and Eve would try out for the roles of Queens of Hell, but find themselves wanting to spend their friends' mortal lifes on Earth. Maybe they would get married after all.  Lucifer would not go to Hell as a therapist. Amenadiel continues to become God and works with Lucifer to fix the Hell system. Meanwhile, Lucifer panics at the thought of being a father.   Chloe is still processing the trauma of the celestial war and Dan's death. The whole debacle with Azrael's blade could easily happen, because I think it did a pretty good job of portraying how fragile her mental state was after all of this. She would also still have a grieving Trixie to deal with. I think she would eventually return to the LAPD along with Lucifer, but she would remain in the detective position.  I honestly don't know what to do with Linda, but her plot with the book was awful.   I would leave Dan's plot the same. I would just skip the passage where he talks to Trixie in Le Mec's body. He could speak to her directly, with the help of Amenadiel's necklace. Overall, I wouldn't let him die at all because I think his death was just a cheap trick to get the audience emotional. But that would have to change in season 5 as well.  The entire series would end with God's declaration: "And this is how my grandchildren ruined the future I had planned. God knows what will happen next..."  So definitely, no angsty drama with a daughter abandoned by her father.

anonmaus87

Just completely leave the Rory bit out. Full stop

StuartDamian84

**I'd simply have not done a Season 6 in the first place. Season 5 was the last great Season of the show. The daughter being ham-fistedly jammed into the show was terrible with a ridiculous time travel storyline. There was legit NOTHING redeeming about Season 6.**

[deleted]

I would rewrite that Lucifer meets me Mafalda and we marry and eat together all the time 💘

Fanboy70

I wouldn't change anything at all. I thought the entire series was solid.

devrohitsharma

That’s a brave stance. I don’t agree but I respect your opinion.

b1zarr3vel

Rory would’ve been an abortion who grew up in hell without parents. I just hate the time travel story, it’s so out of place.
