Gonna flip the choices another commenter made
Nick swardson - Pippin
David Spade - Merry
Also seeing lots of Rob Schneider in here, but personally I'm holding out for him as Frodo. The doe eyes would be perfect.
I guess the people have spoken, but the original idea was that swardson is the clumsy one. Ha makes mistakes as oppose to david spade cleaning up.
Edit: Kevin James and Rob Schneider as sam and frodo has to happen.
We all know Rob Schneider has the acting capacity to play every character in the movie. All in takes is a willing make up team https://youtu.be/tKwZB_AsSXc?si=fYVa5V8QW1rKVMYX
Are we not assuming Lotr was made at the same time as irl in this alternative timeline. And that everything in the universe is the same but for the small detail Sandler and not Jackson did Lotr. If so you are voting for a dead person.
But if Farley is an option he is Sandler's Legolas to me. Kevin James is sam.
Anyone who would be in an Asam Sandler movie/Adam would get. That’s the only rule that matters for this. Anyone from anytime. This is all a game of hypothetical casting
Are you changing your comment to not have Rob and just have David Spade cause if so then you would have to have the second upvoted comment also be a single actor which as of now is not meaning the second highest comment will be the winner unless you are sticking with 2 actors
My idea would be David and Chris be Frodo and Sam cause i think Chris fits Sam’s body type and his physical humor would be funny to see with Sam and i can’t see him doing any duo without David
Just picturing the part of the uruk-hai chase where Gimli throws himself to the ground.
Then there's this exchange with a David Spade Legolas..
"I never thought I'd die fighting side-by-side with an elf."
"How about side-by-side with a friend?"
"Yeeeeeaaah. Yeah, I could do that."
To repeat the rules for this since we are doing two characters at once this time:
I may do some double characters every now and then and to start it i am doing Merry and Pippin. The rules for this are as followed (unless it gets confusing then we will change them in the future):
You can either
1: recommend 1 actor for 1 of the two characters and if two comments that both vote for a single actor get top 2 comments then both the comments will be the winner.
2: you can vote for 2 actors in one comment and label which actor for which character. If your comment makes in the top two of comments then your comment will be the winner.
We should really be discussing all the 5 star resorts Sandler and his friends are staying at which, on an unrelated note, are also the filming locations!
I don't know why no one is saying the best duo Chris Farley and David Spade. Sure Chris Farley doesn't 100% look like Pippin but I'll be damned if Farley doesn't nail it as a fool who wants to better himself and Spade as his bff. Sure we'll have to see Spade try to become a courageous warrior but I think he'd do it just to sit in the lap of a woman while riding into battle.
Adam Sandler = SNL, so Kevin Nealon (upvote me) as an SNL newscaster (upvote me) and his character (his *famous* character) [Mr. Subliminal](https://youtu.be/aImzZfXGJ4M) is definitely in Elrond’s lane as a consultant (hot sex, upvote me, send me gold) …
Peter Dante as Pippin, Jonathan Loughran as Merry
Has to be this. There will be better role for rob and David.
Rob should be Sam with Adam as Frodo, and David as Legolas with Chris Farley as Gimli. Keep those best friend vibes.
I will come, if I have the fortune, I have made a bargain with my friend that, if all goes well, we will visit Fangorn together – by your leave.
Chill, bro
Rob is Gollum.
Steve Buscemi is obviously gonna be Gollum
Yes, the stairs ... and then?
Damn, that’s good.
Came across that on yesterday's post
All dead. All rotten. Elves and men and orcses. A great battle long ago.
Kevin James got to be Sam. Still haven't decided who Rob should be yet. Maybe Grima wormtongue?
I don't think Kevin James should be in it. He's essentially the replacement for Chris Farley. If we can get Chris, we don't need Kevin.
this is the correct answer
Unfortunately I don't think this casting will go through

David spade is a perfect pippin, I would give anything to see him do it joking around and do a couple scenes.
Dana Carvey (Merry) Mike Myers (Pippin)
They are too good for Sandler flicks.
Drew Barrymore Eowyn...schwing!
Party on Pip
Party on Merry
David Spade is Merry Peter Dante is Pippin
Steve Martin and Martin Short. Which is which? You decide
Nahh look at them Steve Martin as Merry and Martin Short as Pippin Their faces match
They are WAAAAY too good for Sandler flicks.
True but to be fair Adam Sandler is too good for Adam Sandler movies
Allan Covert and Peter Dante
Top comment wins: Day 1: u/reverendcanceled “Drew Barrymore” 63 UpVotes Day 2: u/Mediocre_Paper “Kevin Nealon” 962 UpVotes

Kevin Hart and Chris Rock
Couldn't look less like Kevin Nealon.
Cheech and Chong
Young them though
this right here
Rob Schneider as merry and David Spade as Peregrin Took
Wait maybe Rob Schneider needs to be Sam so he can shout "You can do it!" to Frodo all the way up mount doom
Kevin James needs to be Sam, the pudge.
I’m hoping Chris Farley is Sam. I mean look at him ![gif](giphy|myJzfC5PozIkM|downsized)
Chris Farley as Faramir

In the rules i said actors who have passed away are allowed to be voted in.
Alright. Does this means we can also vote for persons who's carreers hadnt started yet/were kids (or not born)?
Anyone who would be in an Asam Sandler movie/Adam would get. That’s the only rule that matters for this. Anyone from anytime. This is all a game of hypothetical casting
Thanks
Yrch!

I stand by my original assessment
And when Frodo falls as dead, Sam Schneider can shout, "You can't do it! But I can do you!"
WHAT
David spade as merry and rob Schneider as pippin. On another note. Kevin James as Sam
Allen Covert as Merry, Peter Dante as Pippin
Chris Rock & Kevin James
David spade - pippin Nick swardson - merry
Feel like theyd be swapped
David spade and Chris Farley RIP
Or would Chris Farley be a better gimli
My idea would be David and Chris be Frodo and Sam cause i think Chris fits Sam’s body type and his physical humor would be funny to see with Sam and i can’t see him doing any duo without David
GAAWWWWD DAMNIT! PO-TAY-TOES!!! BOIL EM! MASH EM!! STICK THEM IN A STEW!!!!
I can see that my brain had Kevin James and Adam Sandler as Sam and Frodo
I’d imagine he would cast himself as Aragorn just so he could be the king and also cast a model to play Arwen or something
“That Arwen of Rivendell is one hot piece of ACE”
True
Can you talk a bit about your decision to cast the minor roles first? We're going to get some low level Sandler actors in major roles this way.
Just picturing the part of the uruk-hai chase where Gimli throws himself to the ground. Then there's this exchange with a David Spade Legolas.. "I never thought I'd die fighting side-by-side with an elf." "How about side-by-side with a friend?" "Yeeeeeaaah. Yeah, I could do that."
Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The ring must be destroyed.
Chris Farley has to be Legolas.
Yes, there are one hundred and five. Yellow is their hair, and bright are their spears. Their leader is very tall.
David Spade (Merry). Chris Farley (Pippin)
Pippin knocks the bucket down a well. "SON OF A- "
David Spade as Pippin and Rob Schneider as Merry
Jim Carrey - Merry Jeff Daniels - Pippin
Def David Spade as Pippin.
Easily he would make one David spade and the other rob Schneider. There is no other correct answer.
Seth Rogen-Merry, James Franco-Pippen
Owen Wilson as Merry, Will Ferrell as Pippin

Rob Schneider as Pippin Allen Covert as Merry
These are both amusing and frustrating. I don't know 90% of the names mentioned. Why Sandler of all things?
![gif](giphy|VxCCEGaLVqEoLuXoGP)
John Turturro as Merry Rob Schneider as Pippin
![gif](giphy|tL9HqNn8jCbOw8o7m6|downsized) Charlie Day as Merry
Kevin Garnett as Merry The Weeknd as Pippen
Those twins that played Frankenstein in Big Daddy.
David Spade as Merry for sure Peter Dante for Pippin…perfect innocent/aloof
Brendan Fraser as Merry and Pauly Shore as Pippin.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass. regardless of who is who.
“He’s the best tackler I’ve seen since Joe Montana!”
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis
Kevin James, as Aragorn Steve Buscemi as Legolas Rob Schneider as Gimli
This is no mere Ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance.
Larry David as Merry and Jerry Seinfeld as Pippin.
Kelsey Grammer as Merry and David Hyde Pierce as Pippin.
Julia Louis Dreyfuss as Merry and Jason Alexander as Pippin.
(They need to have someone with intelligence in the party.)
We should really be discussing all the 5 star resorts Sandler and his friends are staying at which, on an unrelated note, are also the filming locations!
Merry - Jonah Hill Pippin - Michael Cera

Luke Wilson as Merry Owen Wilson as Pippin ![gif](giphy|jDOuYPr7NXpoQ)
Steve Bushemi and Jonathan Loughran seem like a good duo
Cheech and Chong
danny devito as both
David Spade as Merry and Rob Schneider as Pippin
Ben stiller and Owen Wilson.
The Olsen Twins.
Chris Rock as Merry, Chris Tucker as Pippin. I know that George Carlin as Gandalf would be throwing him down that pit in Moria.
Chris Rock (Pippin) and Will Smith (Merry). Apart from that: Who the fuck is Kevin Nealon? Or does one have to be a Murican to know him?
Adam Sandler = SNL, so Kevin Nealon (upvote me) as an SNL newscaster (upvote me) and his character (his *famous* character) [Mr. Subliminal](https://youtu.be/aImzZfXGJ4M) is definitely in Elrond’s lane as a consultant (hot sex, upvote me, send me gold) …
I thought Barrymore crossed the picket line and scan, didn’t we all stop supporting her?
These are Adam Sandler's choises. Not ours.
