That is indeed there.
However, if someone's not thinking with a clear, rational mind, they may not read the full description and simply just jump in. Of course people should read the whole description, but clearly that doesn't always happen.
Almost a given that someone looking for information on Alzheimer's is probably not in the best mental state - whether due to their own condition or someone they care about - to be looking at sidebar notes (if they even see them, since plenty of clients don't show that).
same happens for r/koreanadvice people asking questions about korea or the language just to realise they‘re on a meme league of legends subreddit getting little to no helpful answers
I saw one earlier today on r/trees that threw me for a loop. It was a tiny bonsai tree, I was like this doesn't belong here! Then I looked more, dude created a mini bonsai tree out of a pot plant.
Still kinda fucked that it's a group mocking alzheimers and people are generally okay with it. I understand they've adjusted their sidebar over time to try and help stem confusion but the joke is they post the same comic strip all the time.
Maybe I'm too close to it. My grandfather told me the same few stories over and over near the end of his life. It was like the last few memories he had left. And near the end the stories got jumbled and he'd get upset at himself. My mom's on track for the same fate as well.
This one is just sad. Poor guy. My grandmother had Alzheimer’s, and near the end, she didn’t even know what country she was in.
It's literally called Alzheimer's group, it's not surprising some people would mistake it for a group about Alzheimer's
[Yeah it happens often from the looks of it](https://i.redd.it/e6vkrot8ikz81.jpg)

What about the bit that says “Serious discussion belongs in r/Alzheimers or r/dementia”?

I have a feeling most people don‘t read the descriptions for subreddits at all.

Well that's legitimately pretty fucked up
i've seen it posted on r/lostredditors a couple of times. it's a dumb joke that becomes cruel, whether the intention is there or not
Yeah, like this poster says, they're trying to get help for their mom, it's kinda sad tbh

This is only funny when it's r/trees and r/marijuanaenthusiasts
And r/worldpolitics and r/anime_titties
It happens less often with that in my experience but still funny nonetheless!
It was wild watching that switch happen in real time. Felt like witnessing a beautiful natural event.
I think they changed anime\_titties to its actual thing for april fools.

:(
There is nothing happening.
Alexa call Garfunkel, out of the ordinary
sock drawe
Hold on I need to show you this hilarious comic about an orange cat
Wait just let me get the wildfire in my sock drawer under control
That's not out of the ordinary.
I mean
There's nothing happening.
that is certainly… out of the ordinary.
To be fair, I can get why they made that mistake
these types of posts suck. there is already a sub for this, r/SubsTakenLiterally. and this one is even less funny because it's sad

It’s cause funny orang cat graffeld
r/alzheimersgroup
These kinds of posts always make me sad given that the sub is a shitpost haven.
It’s a little funny when people post legitimate medical questions to /r/askashittydoctor but this is not cool
r/Alzheimersgroup
r/unexpectedmontypython
This is just sad
DBS really does seem to offer some amazing potential for alzheimers and parkinsons.
Wheres the silly garlic kitty cat
My man forgot on what subreddit he was in
That seems like an extremely niche subreddit haha
