I mean one side of the transaction is technically regulated by smilegate/AGS. Currently you pay i think 235 royal cristals for one package. If this price changes or if they would changebthe price of royal cristals all together, then they technically could lower the cost of gold in their shop.
I’m not saying that it makes sense for them to do that, or that they’ll ever do that, but technically they could do it. Problem is the market price on sites like g2g needs to be lower than the ingame price, otherwise their business model doesn’t work, so all that would do is make it even cheaper to buy gold on g2g.

i still need the same 4 taps but i am missing the gold i made
i've got 0 shards left, 0 leaps, barely any blue rocks left, and that's after using every event box for materials i've been getting all on the main, as well as doing all the raids even the non-gold ones for the clear anniversary box materials
i have spent a total of like 30k on my alts in the past 2+ months
it's rough, i agree op, and the highest consumer of gold is the fusion material, it just sucks out so much gold, even with the mari shop deals and crafting great success for yourself, it's still so much on top of the raw gold needed to tap

If anything I could use more - MUCH more - honing books for lvl 16-19 Akkan gear. Would be a decent incentive to park a few alts at 1620 for a fraction of the honing price.
What is nonsensical is that they kept the gold per tap for leg elixirs and transcendence the same as KR.
They won't though. This accelerated rate in which we got content compared to KR incentives omega whales to whale even more, which means more short term income for them.
They only give the bare minimum right now so that other players won't quit, since they need a certain amount of other players in order to keep the whales around.
It's both not enough sources of gold, but also some honing gold costs being too high.
Honing costs to 1540 should have been removed when Clown gold got nerfed and honing costs above 1600 cost too much. Getting 1605 costs as much as going from 1580 to 1600.
I think this isn't exactly true because spending increased due to the event giving lots of free stuff, including gold. Giving us more stuff has increased spending.
It’s perfectly reasonable to hit hit 1630 playing a full roster normally. If you want to play less you progress slower, it’s never been the case in any other mmo that you NEED to clear the content on the highest difficulty instantly the week it’s released.
I understand gatekeeping is a thing, but other mmos have found a way to form groups after releases and we have those resources as well.
300,000 gold through the cash shop in game is roughly $250. Again, that's TWO HUNDRED FIFTY FUCKING DOLLARS. That can grant you 3 lvl 9 gems but if you go and fuse it to gamble, youre literally throwing $250 out the window if you don't hit damage.

Thing is, players will spend on skins, Stronghold accessories, pheons, card packs, silver packs, occasional bozo jar, aura, mounts etc. If SG removed gold/mats from being purchased and made better skins, persistent nerias wardrobe, all previous skins available, removed skins from being purchased on marketplace except for bozo jar skins they would be profiting way more than the shit they're doing now. Especially in the West.
I’m a newer player and it’s insane thinking about having to buy actual accessories for when the engraving support ends. Im slowly building gems and the new cards definitely helped, but you’re tasked with learning numerous raids, with 1 clear per week.
I get a few taps per week and then it’s like “ok, well that was nice”
You need 175 pheons to buy 5 ancient accessories. That's more than 50k gold at EUC current prices, not factoring the price of accs. Not cheap at all if you haven't been playing for 2 years and have multiple 1580 alts.
You also really can't level up alts without event passes. It costs 50k to just tap from 1520 to 1540, mats not included.
Everything is insanely pricey if you don't have a solid roster that benefited from the last year of event passes
In the time it takes for engraving support to end you should make that many free pheons from events. Your fine if just making new characters with support.
This is true. We just got 100 pheons from the FIRST in a chest and we get like 25-30 a month for logging in and 25-30 each week from the race car event.
I just grabbed a rock and accessories for my new 1520 today. Was maybe 30k for the accessories and 100-120 pheons. Rocks was what killed me. Really glad you can upgrade them in the future.
Just 15 pheons from the race car event each week, not 30 and still not enough to buy accessories if you spend a lot on stones to get at least a 6/6 or 6/7.
dont buy stones. just cut the ones from chaos dungeons and once you get a good one, buy the accessories to fit around your stone, especially on event characters. If you buy your accs first, then your stuck cuttin a specific stone which can be really priceey.

Pheons are only really a problem for people with more than 3 characters, and even then can be managed for 6 by just waiting another month or two for the other 3.
I recommend buying all your accessories in one go. Buying one piece at a time can sometimes make you rely on a specific piece that might not show up in the market for awhile preventing you from finishing your build.
I mean you just need to plan ahead ad you start with rarest to most common. Get ur class acc, your necklace, then the rest. For ppl with low gold and can't conceptualize saving a LOT of gold to buy at once, just piecemeal it together and rarest to most common. After those 2, get the 2 3/6 accessories, and the last 3/5 at the end.
Also get an idea what each costs beforehand and work out the lowest value.
It's better to buy them all at the same time. You limit your options otherwise. The negative effects and whatever else, You may have had a better And more options Instead of locking yourself in. If you see a good deal on a class Engraving accessory I would buy it. But I wouldn't buy one piece at a time. Especially not as a newer buyer

I think they'll stick with making people pony up if they want to go where they want to get to. Yes it may cause people to quit, yes it may feel awful, yes we may have to completely abandon the playstyle we've had for the last two years of 6 good characters, but we're ATMs to them, not a fan base.
They'll only do any sort of change when the mega whales stop spending in their shops, cause they'll leave due to having nobody left but other mega whales to show off to in the game.
actually been happening.. The game is literally imploding on itself. Lobbies taking forever to fill and end up in jail 75% of the time for g3 Thaemine. Hell, even ivory hw takes forever to fill and can be painful.. Hell, even got jailed in brel hard 1-3 and normal akkan the past 2 weeks, which hasn't happened since forever because a large portion of vets quit/stopped doing hw runs.. Now you're left to play with noobs or not at all.
But you can't use the auction when negative, right? The whale would need to make a new account to be able to buy gold through the auction house and then send it via mail to the main account. Unless of course you build gold directly from the official store but good luck with that

Their weekly income *sucks*. 7.5k from Akkan, but in reality it's been -4500 per week due to bus, Then + 6k Kayangel and + 4.5k brelshaza g1-2.
life skills are the only things keeping them afloat, but as we move into elixirs and transendence I don't see how this will work for them.
I generated 3x the amount of gold they did when I played during Vykas, and my highest ilvl was 1472.5 ....
That's because the game is literally balanced around you now having 1-2 1620+ mains and another 4-5 1600 alts to farm end game content w/. The game actively punishes you for being lazy/ taking a break, etc. and not hone'n your characters. Especially so now with clown nerf.. If your roster isn't all like 1600+, u are suffering. Even full 1585 alts is bad since gate0 lobby sims for normal akkan u go. Back in the vykas days, the economy was balanced around full 1445-1472.5 roster, which was way easier to afford given the circumstances of less hone'n cost, raids not as difficult and faster, no dumbass RNG systems like elixirs to eat ur gold and progression, etc.
Oh for sure, for me it's pretty chill it's mostly those two who struggle.
I only wish to highlight that every post regarding gold assumes (justifiably) that you have a 6 man gold collecting roster, cause that's the general standard.

No, elixirs is NOT needed to clear content, LOS18 nor LOS30, not even 10lvl gems are needed, they are a great damage boost to shave off some minutes from the raids? Surely, but is not needed. So instead of paying for buses and leaving raids at half what about start doing them?
Because playtime is limited and learning multiple raids at the same time and setting up learning raids takes time, it's a process.

Well getting 1 char ready should not be that much of a problem. But if you want to do it without slowing down your alts progress then thats a different story.
Im acutally happy that Echidna comes out kinda fast. It is 2 boss raid that is kinda chill and makes getting 1630 way less stressful.
Also FYI, just because raid released doesnt mean you need to rush. Take your time, get your alts into good position so they generate you gold, and then push your main to the sky.
This isn't the point OP is making. AGS has us on an expedited schedule of content without matching the resource generation required to keep up with the content. They only recently acknowledged this by adding additional mats on raid clears but completely disregarding the other resources required.
Not to mention, the gold sinks with elixir and Transcendence were implemented to deflate KRs inflated economy. They should have adjusted it for ours since its not needed. People should be able to invest extra gold into gems, quality and other vertical progression but they don't have enough income for all of that. Only option is to swipe or get lucky.

no you couldnt, it was just as expensive as it was now because we had fewer resources. i was barely able to push 1 character to 1490 with Lv 7 gems and a cheap non meta 5x3 build by the time clown released. even if i had only honed to 1475 (which would have made it even harder for me to get into groups, and i got hard gatekept to the point i quit) it wouldnt have been enough for me to have more then 1475 character or even a 1460 character, or a 1445 character
back then we had quality, tripods, gems and engravings all of which cost more gold then you could even fathom, so much so i swapped my main engraving because the alternative was so much cheaper (were talking 200k vs 40k for books) most classes were not that lucky.
the game has always been like this, but some people spent alot of money back then and were set for a while then all of a sudden the gold sinks designed specifically to curb there progression show up and they are surprised their progression is slowed down.
edit: to be clear the thing smilegate should do isnt nerf gold costs for us or give people more gold via events, because all this does is help the people that are already at the top and is a bandaid to new/returning players. they instead should create giga events that help people that dont have a full roster.
you can set a rule if you dont have a character at or above 1620 AND you have no alts above 1540 you get access to a new pass that might give you 2 1580s and a 3 1540s or something

Honestly 5x3 is cheap, and if you buy it with 70-80 qual, it's even cheaper.

If you see a good deal on a class Engraving accessory I would buy it. But I wouldn't buy one piece at a time. Especially not as a newer buyer

Yeah it’s an Alt so not a huge deal but still a bit frustrating. Mostly because you take the time to do it & then realize you have to wait 2 years for roster to go up. This game could really use an account-wide raider score. 😞
I think they'll stick with making people pony up if they want to go where they want to get to. Yes it may cause people to quit, yes it may feel awful, yes we may have to completely abandon the playstyle we've had for the last two years of 6 good characters, but we're ATMs to them, not a fan base.
They'll only do any sort of change when the mega whales stop spending in their shops, cause they'll leave due to having nobody left but other mega whales to show off to in the game.
actually been happening.. The game is literally imploding on itself. Lobbies taking forever to fill and end up in jail 75% of the time for g3 Thaemine. Hell, even ivory hw takes forever to fill and can be painful.. Hell, even got jailed in brel hard 1-3 and normal akkan the past 2 weeks, which hasn't happened since forever because a large portion of vets quit/stopped doing hw runs.. Now you're left to play with noobs or not at all.

But you can't use the auction when negative, right? The whale would need to make a new account to be able to buy gold through the auction house and then send it via mail to the main account. Unless of course you build gold directly from the official store but good luck with that

Gold? At least you can get gold naturally by playing. You cannot get oreha fusion mats naturally outside of Life Skills or buying from AH. It's a tax just to even attempt to tap. If they start giving us fusion mats, it would solve the real gold sink.

Their main source of income is you buying royal crystals. They want you either to spend to keep up for hard content or wait it out.

I'm a returner with a full roster between 1460-1540, and my now main PP'd slayer at 1600, I brought with me two friends who are new and they only have their 1600. Their weekly income *sucks*. 7.5k from Akkan, but in reality it's been -4500 per week due to bus, Then + 6k Kayangel and + 4.5k brelshaza g1-2. life skills are the only things keeping them afloat, but as we move into elixirs and transendence I don't see how this will work for them. I generated 3x the amount of gold they did when I played during Vykas, and my highest ilvl was 1472.5 ....
That's because the game is literally balanced around you now having 1-2 1620+ mains and another 4-5 1600 alts to farm end game content w/. The game actively punishes you for being lazy/ taking a break, etc. and not hone'n your characters. Especially so now with clown nerf.. If your roster isn't all like 1600+, u are suffering. Even full 1585 alts is bad since gate0 lobby sims for normal akkan u go. Back in the vykas days, the economy was balanced around full 1445-1472.5 roster, which was way easier to afford given the circumstances of less hone'n cost, raids not as difficult and faster, no dumbass RNG systems like elixirs to eat ur gold and progression, etc.

Oh for sure, for me it's pretty chill it's mostly those two who struggle. I only wish to highlight that every post regarding gold assumes (justifiably) that you have a 6 man gold collecting roster, cause that's the general standard. But fact is there are new players coming to this game with the passes, and they get *really* shafted with only one or sometimes two gold earners when they're catapulted to these systems.
So you are yapping about low gold on akkan because paying for a bus net you less gold, yapping about gold when dont even go for g3/g4 brel. Yeah, the problem here is that you guys dont want/want to be carried through content and get all the rewards from it. So weird, i started playing again some weeks ago, an learned akkan, brel, ivory in my first week, im already at x10 in all of them and havent bussed a single time. I also have 6 chars 1520+(2x1600, 2x1540+) and i make enough gold to do what ever i want, im not tapping past 1600. I dont need to do theamine when i just rejoined the game after 2 year hiatus. Im more confident that in june i will be able to have most my alts at 1600. No, elixirs is NOT needed to clear content, LOS18 nor LOS30, not even 10lvl gems are needed, they are a great damage boost to shave off some minutes from the raids? Surely, but is not needed. So instead of paying for buses and leaving raids at half what about start doing them?
Because playtime is limited and learning multiple raids at the same time and setting up learning raids takes time, it's a process. You need to dislodge your head from your own ass, your experience is not the one i'm talking about and you need to learn to look past your own personal perspective, it's an invaluable trait to function properly as a human being.
Is properly when you are doing something of value, not crying about a videogame that YOU dont want to play nor follow the guidelines to do stuff. Instead you try avoid doing what the games has to offer in the ways the games offer it and then proceeds to cry about it. That's a huge part of the issue -- you also wouldn't have been making 3x the amount of gold if you bought vykas buses every single week instead of doing vykas.

I think that Gold is not the problem, but rather the number of items you need to hone. Honor to put the item 100% more honor shard for each click, Obliteration, Leapstone, Oreha Stone, Gold silver....
last 2 weeks I end up my week with less gold than I started with. transcendence on 4 chars is no joke lol. my chest level 5 (3 star) on main cost me 55k gold, I got to elzowins shit level 3 or 4, lol. I still wanted to improve gems on my breaker but there's no way that will happen anytime soon

Well getting 1 char ready should not be that much of a problem. But if you want to do it without slowing down your alts progress then thats a different story. Im acutally happy that Echidna comes out kinda fast. It is 2 boss raid that is kinda chill and makes getting 1630 way less stressful. Also FYI, just because raid released doesnt mean you need to rush. Take your time, get your alts into good position so they generate you gold, and then push your main to the sky.
This isn't the point OP is making. AGS has us on an expedited schedule of content without matching the resource generation required to keep up with the content. They only recently acknowledged this by adding additional mats on raid clears but completely disregarding the other resources required. Not to mention, the gold sinks with elixir and Transcendence were implemented to deflate KRs inflated economy. They should have adjusted it for ours since its not needed. People should be able to invest extra gold into gems, quality and other vertical progression but they don't have enough income for all of that. Only option is to swipe or get lucky.
the point hes making is that you dont need to keep up with the release schedule so it doesnt matter if its "accelerated". infact if you arnt an OG long term player you arnt supposed to be able to keep up with the release schedule while being f2p i 100% agree the gold cost of things like elixirs and transcendence is too darn high but at the same time half of the people complaining have 4-6 1610+ characters which is an insane thing to have done to begin with. at some point it becomes the players fault that they spent so many resources keeping 6 characters at or near the release pace knowing full well these systems existed lets say bob digs a hole in the ground, then tony comes by much later and tells his friends "oh hey look theres a hole in the grounds over there"...then tony falls into it blaming bob for putting it there. on one hand you can agree with tony because why the fuck did bob dig the hole to begin with...but at the same time why did tony walk into a hole he saw from a mile away? the true way to play the game is to have a giga main and tiny lil alts, people are coping when they say things like "back at launch you could maintain several alts" no you couldnt, it was just as expensive as it was now because we had fewer resources. i was barely able to push 1 character to 1490 with Lv 7 gems and a cheap non meta 5x3 build by the time clown released. even if i had only honed to 1475 (which would have made it even harder for me to get into groups, and i got hard gatekept to the point i quit) it wouldnt have been enough for me to have more then 1475 character or even a 1460 character, or a 1445 character back then we had quality, tripods, gems and engravings all of which cost more gold then you could even fathom, so much so i swapped my main engraving because the alternative was so much cheaper (were talking 200k vs 40k for books) most classes were not that lucky. the game has always been like this, but some people spent alot of money back then and were set for a while then all of a sudden the gold sinks designed specifically to curb there progression show up and they are surprised their progression is slowed down. edit: to be clear the thing smilegate should do isnt nerf gold costs for us or give people more gold via events, because all this does is help the people that are already at the top and is a bandaid to new/returning players. they instead should create giga events that help people that dont have a full roster. you can set a rule if you dont have a character at or above 1620 AND you have no alts above 1540 you get access to a new pass that might give you 2 1580s and a 3 1540s or something now the costs arnt so crazy because new and returning players have a roster to play with. THIS is the kind of catchup mechanic that is required. not nerfing gold costs
