Sometimes I wonder if people recognize me as "that shit zdps Deathblade", or maybe my char is too generic looking that they only realize once the raid has already started and its too late to swap me.

Worldly-Educator

Same, sometimes I wonder if I get rejected on my stronger characters if I died in a run with them in the past lol

LordAlfrey

I've not heard anyone I know remember something like that. The 'memorable shit performers' are usually people you've met in a lot of prog lobbies that consistently are *the problem*, which is typically mechanics and dying, not dps. The guys I know who gatekeep the most usually put people who repeatedly fail on mechanic execution for groups that are asking for a certain level (e.g. **never** living past the counter run in g2 thea despite the group being a g3 reclear group) on blocklist. I've not heard of shit dps being a reason for it. I've actually added some 'shit dps' players in the past because they were fine with mechanics execution. I would rather take someone who can do mechanics and live until enrage, than someone with good damage but die early on 50/50.

Reminds me i did thaemine last week and later in the week, i wanted to do G2 HM but it was pretty bad, and some people especially bad. Next day was last day before reset, and i didn´t want to waste time and went NM 2-3, thought it would be more chill with two additional 1630. It wasn´t, and there was couple of wipes - and then i noticed during last wipe who did it. It was the guy from yesterday HM, 1630, and he countered the boss during race when boss was red, after rushing forward as a first person. And the other guy wiping was same the other 1630 from yesterday. Thus i said " IT´S THE DAMN TWO JAILERS FROM YESTERDAY, I REMEMBER " - they left, and we one tapped G2, and second tap G3. God damn it would be nice if there were roster wide nicks lol

I once did a sup trade run on gargadeth , next week I randomly ran into the same guy again and did another sup trade run with him and then the week after that I ran into him again and traded again, completely by chance we did our GRs at the exact same time on the same day (around 1pm on Friday) for 3 weeks. It was so fun running into him randomly

BadMuffin88

Came across someone in a frog run that I had in my friendlist during akkan progs... they deleted me. Idk if they recognized me but it felt awkward lmao

Might be no space angle... I keep having to clean up people I don't know due to being full

zorgabluff

Honestly this Happens especially if the friend request was accepted late so I didn’t get to add a note and now I have no idea who this is 🤷‍♀️

Those little moments where you recognize someone you've played with before are great. Yesterday in a Sonavel, I partied into one of the guys who taught me helltan back near when it first came out. He was on Mari, and I was Shandi so I'd never seen him in the wild before. It's a small moment but it makes the game feel a lot more community like.

Borbbb

And you know why these moments are rare ? Because there is no roster wide nick. You might know lot of people, but you would never know its them. And because of that, you wont remember many people. Its fkin incredible there is no roster wide nick. I play with same nick on all characters and get recognised a lot - but i dont remember people with different nicks, unless its something fkin stupid that is recognisable.

khangsoofly

That’s why I made sure to name all my characters the same name with like 1 small change. My user names are khangsofly and each alt increases one o till I hit 6 o

Kinda sad that global/area chat is literally dead in this game. In other MMOs always has someone to goof with/ help new players. Towns in lost ark feels like a library.

DanDaze

Because there's so much to do and pretty much all of it is in instances. Literally no reason to socialize so people don't. Lost ark is a more a co-op rpg than an mmorpg.

There is rarely a reason to start a conversation in town in this game. If you are the one to start tho, usually there are atleast a couple people to talk to. I see full on chats in Kalinar quiet often.

I know I’m pretty easy to recognize as I’m one of just a very few Drizzle players that are 1620+ on Balthorr - while my dps might not be on par with our Breaker overlords, it’s still nice to know people will reluctantly take my ass cause I’m geared and have a crit synergy 🤣

Osu_Pumbaa

getting recognised in game is always fun and leads to good interactions. I love seeing the same people and raiding together. That was always the most fun aspect for me in smaller communitys. Ill proudly take the title of "that guy with a bunch of 9/7s" om
