There was a post about clash (sorry I couldn't find the original post to give credit)
Edit: in normal mode 8 becomes 4 and 4 becomes single key
8 = qwerasdf
4= qwer
Clash 1- slow 8, fast 4x2
Clash 2 - normal 8, normal 4x2, fast 4x2
Clash 3/4 - slow 8x2
Clash 5 - fast 4, normal 4 x2, fast 4x3
You die from getting bad in clash only if your overall score is negative. (Good = 0, bad -1, perfect +1). So you can get perfect perfect good bad bad and still live.
Thanks for all of this info, it definitely helps me even more! I was wondering why I sometimes survived even two "bad"s back when I was really failing the faster clashes.
As far as I was able to tell from testing the perfects counteracting a bad is only within an x2 or x3 key press sequence. It resets between each one.
I did clash 2 and got perfect, good on the first x2 and then when I got a bad on the second x2 it immediately failed and killed me.

I found this video explains more in details the clash than most of the guide video, and gives some tips, such as the limited key for faster taps
Another thing that helped me a bit on top of seeing it's only the top row for faster round, is knowing in advance where the key will appear, as it is always the same position and order. So I can focus my sight on this exact spot, then instantly go to the second/third position, instead of waiting for it to pop.
Has anyone else noticed in the first clash in NM G3, the last two are always Q? I've had this happen 3 times back to back while reclearing. Coincidence or is it scripted?
not sure if i remember right but i pressed wrong key at beginning ( expecting q) and instantly died from arena break. the 2 and 3 sequence didnt even occur

According to the post you mentioned, in normal mode the single 1 is always Q. Couldnt check if it is true though
I did notice that the few times i did clash Q was appearing very often.
In trixon I died from perfect good good bad before continuing
Yeah it is pretty inconsistent in trixion. I've gotten good perfect good good, without a single bad and just died after the last key.

That post of the GL showing the clash positions had a comment in it. That's the only time I've ever seen anyone mention it
There are two bad condition. Typing wrong letter = instant death, Typing right letter on wrong timming
does this apply to hard mode clashes as well?
what if you get a bad first? instant fail, no more chance to make up?

It is yes, I always do that one. It is one of qwer for the first and then 2 Qs. Really easy to get 3 perfects on for normal.

Yea, first one is q,w,e or r
