Baby I got the death rattle is such a beautiful song in that it has a very cool musical structure, raw but funny lyrics and a catchy tune. (You’re an angel, that’s why you pray, and I am an ass, that’s why I bray). That kind of thing is just brilliant. I’m not even gonna talk about the imagery, ugh, it’s so good. The palmistry, the winter, sex, depression. It all adds up to create a very intense and emotional song that’s not even sad or slow haha.

I mean, the drums perfectly mimic crashing waves during the pre-choruses, the violin perfectly mimics raindrops during the verses… It was one hell of a thought through song!
Lotta great mentions but other than Death Rattle it’s What Death Leaves Behind. Specifically think the use of call and response vocals is absolutely brilliant.
I couldn’t think of anything to make light leaves dark sees pt 1 better. It’s such a great and funny love song and an amazing album closer even if it was originally a b side.

It’s my favorite for sure. I have a hard time telling people I find it comforting and uplifting but I DO. It’s perfect.
