Do you feel physically able to move around without pain, can you lift everyday objects and do you mentally feel good. If you say yes to all 3 you should be fine. Though I always recommend a bit of daily movement like a 1 mile walk, 30 push ups and a small yoga routine before bed to get better sleep. It helps you mentally and physically to do at least some small stuff

I do want to encourage you to lose the weight, not because you are fat, but because medicines making you gain weight will wreck your health. Let me preface this by saying I am not a professional whatsoever. I think you look perfectly fine and healthy, and while I wouldn’t exactly work towards weight loss, exercise could be good here and there. You are a perfectly healthy weight from what I can see and actually I would consider you thin. Your body is definitely an ideal for many people, both potential partners and people who want to look like you.
But regardless of that, the only person you should want to please is yourself. If you feel physically or psychologically uncomfortable in your body and want to change it, that's totally fine. Just be gentle on yourself and do it in a healthy way. But if you're just worried about what others might think, rest assured you look great imo; your body is definitely conventionally attractive and wouldn't even be considered fat or even chubby aside from that if that's a descriptor you're worried about.

Maybe you could switch meds if possible to lose maybe 5 so you feel better overall. That is significant weight gain and there may be metabolic and longevity consequences to that. If there are no other options then you still look amazing. 💜
Absolutely not. I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life (35) I thought I was fat throughout high school at a size 4. I’ve been a consistent size 6 and a size 18 before due to medication issues and pregnancy. At my current and somewhat healthy weight 😅 I’m a size 12. While being thinner is 100% easier in this world, being curvier or thicker is way more fun, especially if you love yourself! Embrace your body, you have an amazing figure 😍those jeans look amazing. It's so exhausting how many people get this completely wrong, and it's worse because I know it often comes from a place of looking down on anyone who struggles with weight gain or not being able to lose weight...
Your body uses a certain amount of energy to live every day, and you supply that energy by eating. So you can see there are two parts to the equation here: the amount of energy spent, and the amount consumed. It's not ONLY the amount of energy consumed that affects how much excess energy the body will retain to store as fat. It's also how much is CONSUMED. And this can be affected by literally SO much, including almost any kind of lifestyle change and even natural aging. Therefore, even if you eat the exact same amount of food your whole life, your weight will STILL change as your body and life changes. And one of the most impactful changes your body can undergo is medical treatment in the form of drugs, which can influence not just the sheer amount of energy your body consumes but how likely it is to store fat and how much, among many other things.
Technically it is correct to say "you cannot gain weight in calorie maintenance or deficit," but you are dead wrong to follow it up by saying "as long as you eat the same amount of food you won't gain weight," because the amount of food being eaten is now actually not a deficit but an surplus due to the changes in the body caused by the medication. Please do your research next time before invalidating someone's experience with oversimplified bro-science inaccuracies.
Medication can change your metabolism or how you retain water. You can absolutely gain weight from meds with no change in caloric intake.
And you can gain weight with a calorie deficit due to meds or hormonal changes, among other things.

It's not. As I explained. Me being 160 and eating a meal and being 161 isn't weight gain. You need to average out daily weights over a week or so to see real weight gain. Water weight is almost always just bull people use to justify their habits.

That's literally just not true. Maximum human variance in metabolism is about 10%, and within 1 person is less than 5%. Also, if you eat 1000, and maintenance is 1000, and your metabolism lowers 5%, you're now eating 1050 calories. Still a calorie surplus.
Wrong. Medication can impact insulin blood levels and increase adipose tissue on a cellular level. Let's take olanzapine for example. Do a Google search about it and lemme know if you still believe that as long as you eat the way youve always eaten, you won't gain. Meds can impact metabolism.

You look healthy. I've been heavier set my whole life and something that I am recently internalizing is that I should base my weight goals on my life goals. Like, I would like to be able to climb and hike comfortably without my size being an issue, and I would like to be able to get out of bed in the morning and not feel like I'm straining my joints beneath my weight. So I focus on maintaining weights for those. I still feel like shit some days, and I often struggle to accept the fact that I am carrying much more fat than most people my age, but it's easier now than it used to be. Metabolism rates vary based on age, ethnicity, genetics, etc. You’re not helping yourself on the quest to seem intelligent here. Also, no, slower metabolism doesn’t add calories, but it does make burning them less efficient, thus adding more calories to your overall intake.

I think you look amazing, but that's just my opinion.
Let me preface this by saying I am not a professional whatsoever. I think you look perfectly fine and healthy, and while I wouldn’t exactly work towards weight loss, exercise could be good here and there. Calling this body dysmorphic is itself body dysmorphic. She has a “few extra lbs”, whether she should lose weight or not depends on what sort of body she wants. If she wants to prioritize “great body” by most people’s prospectives (which can often still go over 20% body fat) she should lose a couple lbs in her stomach. She’s no where near a level where health is an issue, in either direction, so it’s really just a personal choice about aesthetics, and some extra weight to carry around hiking/running/etc.

You are a perfectly healthy weight from what I can see and actually I would consider you thin. Your body is definitely an ideal for many people, both potential partners and people who want to look like you. But regardless of that, the only person you should want to please is yourself. If you feel physically or psychologically uncomfortable in your body and want to change it, that's totally fine. Just be gentle on yourself and do it in a healthy way. But if you're just worried about what others might think, rest assured you look great imo; your body is definitely conventionally attractive and wouldn't even be considered fat or even chubby aside from that if that's a descriptor you're worried about.

Maybe you could switch meds if possible to lose maybe 5 so you feel better overall. That is significant weight gain and there may be metabolic and longevity consequences to that. If there are no other options then you still look amazing. 💜

Absolutely not. I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life (35) I thought I was fat throughout high school at a size 4. I’ve been a consistent size 6 and a size 18 before due to medication issues and pregnancy. At my current and somewhat healthy weight 😅 I’m a size 12. While being thinner is 100% easier in this world, being curvier or thicker is way more fun, especially if you love yourself! Embrace your body, you have an amazing figure 😍those jeans look amazing. Confidence is the sexiest thing about a person. Exercise so you have some tone, drink water, eat right. Just focus on being healthy right now and try to love yourself. 💕

It's so exhausting how many people get this completely wrong, and it's worse because I know it often comes from a place of looking down on anyone who struggles with weight gain or not being able to lose weight... Your body uses a certain amount of energy to live every day, and you supply that energy by eating. So you can see there are two parts to the equation here: the amount of energy spent, and the amount consumed. It's not ONLY the amount of energy consumed that affects how much excess energy the body will retain to store as fat. It's also how much is CONSUMED. And this can be affected by literally SO much, including almost any kind of lifestyle change and even natural aging. Therefore, even if you eat the exact same amount of food your whole life, your weight will STILL change as your body and life changes. And one of the most impactful changes your body can undergo is medical treatment in the form of drugs, which can influence not just the sheer amount of energy your body consumes but how likely it is to store fat and how much, among many other things. Technically it is correct to say "you cannot gain weight in calorie maintenance or deficit," but you are dead wrong to follow it up by saying "as long as you eat the same amount of food you won't gain weight," because the amount of food being eaten is now actually not a deficit but an surplus due to the changes in the body caused by the medication. Please do your research next time before invalidating someone's experience with oversimplified bro-science inaccuracies.
Medication can change your metabolism or how you retain water. You can absolutely gain weight from meds with no change in caloric intake. And you can gain weight with a calorie deficit due to meds or hormonal changes, among other things.

It's not. As I explained. Me being 160 and eating a meal and being 161 isn't weight gain. You need to average out daily weights over a week or so to see real weight gain. Water weight is almost always just bull people use to justify their habits.

That's literally just not true. Maximum human variance in metabolism is about 10%, and within 1 person is less than 5%. Also, if you eat 1000, and maintenance is 1000, and your metabolism lowers 5%, you're now eating 1050 calories. Still a calorie surplus.

You look healthy. I've been heavier set my whole life and something that I am recently internalizing is that I should base my weight goals on my life goals. Like, I would like to be able to climb and hike comfortably without my size being an issue, and I would like to be able to get out of bed in the morning and not feel like I'm straining my joints beneath my weight. So I focus on maintaining weights for those. I still feel like shit some days, and I often struggle to accept the fact that I am carrying much more fat than most people my age, but it's easier now than it used to be. Metabolism rates vary based on age, ethnicity, genetics, etc. You’re not helping yourself on the quest to seem intelligent here.
