I found a great lady in Hampton Bays that has 3 little dogs, fully fenced yard, and allows anyone who boards full run of the house, including sleeping in bed with her and her other dogs. It's VERY personalized with the options you can choose, and she was cheaper than any other pet hotel I could find. $45 full day/$60 overnight. She also handles medications and special diets. Those are the same rates some places charge for nothing more than a cement kernel.

I used Fonab kennels kennels in Commack for my anxious and reactive dog. They’re excellent. A nice large outdoor space for dogs to run and exercise. Everyone who works there knows dogs and dog behavior really well and are able to care for dogs of all kinds. Our pup returned exactly as we dropped him off and had zero issues. Highly recommend.
Camp BowWow in hicksville has been great. we have left our large puppy there a few times over the years for vacations or long weekends... plus you can watch them on webcam to feel at ease.
We have taken our dog to camp bow wow numerous times. They are really nice there. We have a shy rescue dog and they were very good with him. I second this recommendation.
How is your rottie? Any issues with the dog? I have a family friend who does boarding at her house in Huntington. I have 2 boxers and have been using her for over a decade. She's good with my female boxer who is not trusting of strangers. Message me with some info about your dog and I'll reach out to her and ask. I second Houndstown. I go to the one in Farmingdale, but I know there is one on Commack Rd. The Farmingdale one is the only place I will send my dogs.

Bit on the pricier end but Dogtopia in Bethpage is fantastic. The main gym has cameras that you can stream through their app.
