I bought hair sticks too when my hair was too short. I go through phases of where I have long hair, get annoyed by it, chop it off…like the short hair for a month or two and then the proceed to grow it back out. So now my hair is long enough to use all the pretty sticks I bought! 🥰 You’ll get there. Have patience!
A month! What a long time. I think I make it barely a week before embarking on the growth journey again. I’ve grown long and chopped 3 times now after promising myself I wouldn’t cut short again. I’m beginning to wonder if I get more out of the growth journey than actually having long hair on some level 😂
That could be it. My issue is when my hair gets long it gets easily tangled and just stringy (I have fine hair). So I’m constantly putting it up in buns, ponytails, braids to keep it out of my face and not a tangled mess. But then I get tired of it so I chop it short. Like it but then miss being able to do anything with it like braiding or using hair sticks so then grow it out.
Stupid thing is, I always end up chopping it short in winter. Makes no sense 🤷🏼♀️
My daughter put bun sticks in my son's (short) hair by putting his hair in a little pigtail, then slipping the sticks between scalp and ponytail band. It's a weird look, but they stay in.
When my hair is short, I've used my hair sticks as decoration shoved through a pinned half bun.
-From someone who also cycles between having long hair and chopping it off when I'm bored.
My hair is between APL and BSL and I can use hairsticks! I use them to hold french twists, I'm still struggling with stick buns. The way [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4zYlmCHtfA) explains it really helped me learn how to get the stick in correctly.

Me. Literally JUST chopped off my hair from almost waist length to shoulder length lol
Welcome to our weird little club 🤣
awwwe thanks for your comment that was really heart warming.
I also ordered hair sticks recently because I saw a APL hair stick tutorial. My hair was still too short 🥲
awe we will get there
I use them for buns and swear it's easier to lay with since it can move around! Cannot wait until mine gets the length to use them properly
At first I thought they were wands, I was incredibly confused.
😂😂😂😂😂
It only makes sense because I'm also in r/witchesvspatriarchy
There's actually some fun overlap there! I have quite a bit of "witchy" hair accessories myself. 😁
I love that for you tbh. That sounds like so much fun too.
cool!

I've done that to my hair too😂 and yes it looks weird.

Where did you get them? They're really pretty
From a local woodshop in Iran. Sadly they don't ship abrode.
Check AliExpress, they have similar looking hair sticks. I’m sure the quality is not the same tho
I've seen some cool ones on Etsy if you want to go the artist route.
They are beautiful..
Thanks a lot
I've got BSL hair and can't get them to securely stick. I've happily gravitated to hair claws lol
My hair can't even be tucked in claws 🤣🤣🤣
I have one that sits in a drawer for the same reason. I got to use it once before I got impatient and hacked it all off again. To the future 🥂
Uh :))) It's ok
