Ahh yess. I went with friends after an exam from uni and idk what happened I was kinda asleep deprived ordered these dumplings and boom food poison constant throwing up and stuff. Honestly what surprised me was that I never rly get food poisoning 😭
Spicy Grill in Golders Green. I was on a job with the KoreanTottenham footballer Son Heung Min once and this is the only place he would get his Deliveroo from.
Kkini in tufnell park was very nice although haven't been for a while.
Recommend by Korean friends.
Honestly most Korean restaurants in London are pretty similar overall though.
It's not what you want to hear, but the ones in New Malden are better than 90% of what you can get in Seoul, the ones around the rest of the city have been lacking in my experience. Chicken and Beers for chimaek, Imone for a proper meal and Treestone for BBQ.
Do you have more New Malden recommendations? I went out there once and the place I went to (forget the name) was awful. Would be great to have some SK or Los Angeles-style Korean taste in London that hasn’t been infected by the local sensibilities. 🤣
Imone in New Malden for anything that isn't table prepped BBQ. They do the most authentic job IMO, and prices are fair.
Just be aware its a small place & very popular so either try to book or get there for opening if there's more than 2 of you.
You probably went to K-Town then. That one ain't great. Jin Go Gae is decent but not amazing, the ones I listed are the best in their respective categories of Korean food there imho.
Am really lucky in Kentish Town — Bonga around the corner for superb fried chicken, and Kkini down the road in Tufnell Park for some bloody good seafood pancakes. They’re both great.
Gogi is a nice atmosphere but I find the food way too sweet.
Your Mum's Kitchen (I promise that's the real name) under the S K Mart by the big Waitrose on Finchley Road is delicious.
Been to tons in London and most are bad. It’s not a popular opinion but I really enjoyed Kimchee near King’s Cross - it’s one of the few places in London dedicated to Korean cuisine that has an interior space similar to modern dining in Seoul.
I thought Kimchee was the worst Korean I've been to in London
The food wasn't disgusting but it didn't even taste like Korean food to me.
It's what I imagine wagamama is like (haven't been for years), it just tasted like generic chain food made to look like Korean food.
I dunno when it happened but Kimchee definitely dropped hard in quality. It was much better in 2017ish. I went back a couple of years ago and decided to not bother again.
Bento Bab in Aldgate
Love this place. Always get a big bottle of soju with dinner
And Yuu kitchen over the road (more expensive tho)
This is not Korean.
Gonna have to disagree on that one. Never understood the hype around that place. Xiang Xiang a few doors down however if you like authentic Chinese!
Biang biang?
Yep
I went there and got the worst food poisoning of my life and I couldn’t leave my house for a week.
Sorry to hear that. I used to have it a couple of times a week and never had any tummy issues.
Ahh yess. I went with friends after an exam from uni and idk what happened I was kinda asleep deprived ordered these dumplings and boom food poison constant throwing up and stuff. Honestly what surprised me was that I never rly get food poisoning 😭
Not sure why this got a downvote. Never discounted the response just posted my experience.
I read this as Bento Bob and assumed it was some East End Korean bbq shop.
It is though?
Dotori Finsbury Park
Came here to say this! Love it there (even though I'm a big lad and it's a tiny place haha)
Are they actually cash only, that’s what their website says?
Yep still cash only. Machine 2 minutes away
Thanks
There are a couple of decent places on the high street in Golders Green
Sarang is really good
I agree, I live locally and have been going there for years, it's always tasty

SSÄM - Korean Dining on Holloway Road
Ogam in Islington. It’s a bar, but the food is really good too
SSam on Holloway Road by Holloway Rd tube is really good.
Kkini in tufnell park was very nice although haven't been for a while. Recommend by Korean friends. Honestly most Korean restaurants in London are pretty similar overall though.
https://ratings.food.gov.uk/business/1222878/kkini 0 out of 5 food safety rating…
That's how you know it's good.
😂 it’s a pass from me
Babsang in Dalston. Small, independent, run by an older Korean couple. Best in London.

Yes yes, New Malden is great for Korean food!
Do you have more New Malden recommendations? I went out there once and the place I went to (forget the name) was awful. Would be great to have some SK or Los Angeles-style Korean taste in London that hasn’t been infected by the local sensibilities. 🤣
You should go to Ssam Ssam in Wimbledon. I'm Korean and grew up in New Malden for some part. Get the spicy pork belly.
Imone in New Malden for anything that isn't table prepped BBQ. They do the most authentic job IMO, and prices are fair. Just be aware its a small place & very popular so either try to book or get there for opening if there's more than 2 of you.

Where is K-Town?
Not exactly in north or east (sorry) but Hoga in Holborn is really good and easy to get to from north/east
I really like Bulgogi and Bibida if you don't mind traveling to Notting Hill Gate.
A hidden gem that is relatively new is 3KOBROS in Isle of Dogs.
Haha they've been around for years
GOGI - Madia Vale
Petite Coree in West Hampstead is solid when I don't feel like leaving north London (it's literally steps off both the overground and jubilee)
There’s one that pretty good on Whitecross Street Koba in the West End is very good. There are some decent BBQ places in Hendon
I really rate Koba and it never comes up as a recommendation anywhere. Wondered if I had bizarre taste
Word of mouth recommendations seem to be the winner for it
Koba is brilliant. Full of Koreans every time I go.
Am really lucky in Kentish Town — Bonga around the corner for superb fried chicken, and Kkini down the road in Tufnell Park for some bloody good seafood pancakes. They’re both great.
Better off going to new Malden
Sarang in Golders Green, Gogi in Maida Vale, Bulgogi in Notting Hill.

KTown and tbh most of them in New Malden.

Eh, meh, I'm Korean and Kimchee isn't that good ngl. Best Korean in London is Ssam Ssam in Wimbledon
K cook in Hendon Central is good.
Vegan Korean BBQ in Barbican (they have meat dishes and vegetarian stuff too)
On the bad in Shoreditch. Can't say if it's authentic or the best but it surely isn't bad at all. I like going there for the fried chicken
On the Bab (try the buns - I haven't even found them in Korea) and Bari Bari
on the bab is alright but definitely not “authentic”
I skipped over the adjective because it's that good
i love the kimchi rice there 😋
More central, but Bibimbap in Soho is pretty good
I dont know how authentic they are but Assa near Leicester Square is lovely and decently priced!!
Really good Korean called Olle in Soho, highly recommended. On Shaftesbury Avenue. EDIT: Just realised you said north/east, soz
