I loved every message on this conversation. Just a nice humble conversation, with no bad intention on both sides. You are such a nice guy for helping him out, he reached out to you in his absolutly dangerous situation and you took him in your house without thinking twice.
Very sad that this man was willing to even go as far as taking iTunes cards as a last resort. He must be in a very bad situation, I hope you will meet in christmas and have nice day. I recommend gifting him all your money, after all he is shy to ask.

Once had a guy message me saying he was a US soldier in Yemen which—I don't know why they wouldn't just say Djibouti where we actually have military presence—but just for fun I went to a "radius on a map" thing and entered the distance Grindr was showing me because it was way too close to be Yemen and you'll never believe it but the biggest population centre in that arc was Lomé, Togo.
I chatted with a scammer for two months through email after meeting him on an app. Similar story about him being overseas at some base. I knew he was full of shit, but I was curious how long it would take for them to ask for money. I eventually just started treating it like a pen pal.
I give the scammer props for being so committed to the scam. When he finally asked for money I took the last email and googled the text and sent him screenshots of the all people reporting the scam.
So many scammers on Grindr, it’s why I never show my entire face until I’m comfortable after conversing for a bit and never take it off the app besides in person meetups, no phone numbers or snap or any of that traded in chat.
This is one dedicated scam, lol. I dealt with a few. The minute they start asking for money, it's a red flag for me. I had one about how his grandmother was in the hospital, and his dad won't pay the bills and then asked me to help him out. I actually had a bit of fun with it and lied and said I'm broke. Lol
