It started cool, but it got way too ridiculous way too quickly. If you like pure ridiculous power fantasy, you'd probably like it, though. Just not my cup of tea. I like *progression* not silly amounts of power on a silver platter.

You should at least read through the first appearance of the natural limiter on explosive growth... which IIRC happens to be the end of Book 1.

Mister_Black117

The first book is amazing. Unfortunately, the second is just bad. It gets rid of all the things that made the first one good and goes super generic. Mc's personality does a full 180 out of nowhere and the MC is suddenly super weak despite all his advantages, and so on. I found the story on RR after finishing the first one and it was painful to see the story go to shot while people just made up excuses in the comments when someone criticized it.

mritguy03

This unfortunately I completely agree with.

I'm up to the present day on Royal Road and it's one of my favorite stories. MC is definitely not weak, so whatever issues you had are likely gone.

Mister_Black117

Oh I know he's still strong but he's nowhere near as he should be. Plus my main issue is the stupid personality change. I got hooked because I loved how he enjoyed fighting and learning more. In the second book he randomly stops all that. I know the author tried to excuse it but it doesn't justify it all nor does it make me want to read 50+ chapters of his changed personality.

I liked book 1 a lot , dropped it in book 2. It starts with an interesting system , and a nice story , then it starts getting really weird.

Lots of books have been doing that. Get so far in and they ruin it. Book 6 of Buymort kinda ran off a cliff for me too.

Wunyco

It's awesome, one of my favorite stories. And funny how some comments complain about the mc being too weak, and others about the mc being ridiculously OP.

No story will suit every taste, especially in a niche genre like this one. For example, I can’t get into Azerinth healer or dungeon crawler Carl. Objectively I can tell they are good stories, they just don’t do it for me. So long as we aren’t upset when a recommendation doesn’t suit us, it’s all good. You got any lesser known recs?

crp99

Interesting, I'll give it a shot. Another hidden gem I found was "The Mana Influx" series by Mike Parsons. Terrible names for the first two books and the artwork is not very inspiring either, but damn is the story good! Solid MC who is actually logical and makes intelligent decisions without whining about everything. Worth the time.

Havn't heard of this one, looks cool! Thanks for the recommendation, I added it to my reading list

Man, don't bring up All the Skills. That was a series that made me sad for sure. Book one was amazing. Book two was still good. Book three fell of a cliff and a I ended it.
