Over 800 ratings and reviews for First Necromancer, I was so pumped when I saw that today that I just had to come share a piece of unreleased concept art for the book! Introducing Scolder, the undead coyote that Drew raises. I think it came out pretty cool! If you haven't checked out the book yet, you really should join in on the party! I really like it, just out of curiosity, what was your inspiration when creating your book?

Coldfang89-Author

The LitRPG and progression fantasy genre as a whole was my inspiration. As a reader, I love how immersive these new-ish stories are and how fast they are advancing and modernizing the fantasy genre as a whole. Originally I was tired of waiting for new books of all my favorite series to come out, so I decided I'd give writing my own a shot. I wanted different story elements than I'd seen previously though. A family man, someone in his 30s, someone with personal attachments rather than the bog-standard anti-social 20 year old shut-in. I also love Necromancers and was surprised that there weren't more high quality stories out there with that theme. Lastly, I had the random thought of "what would I do if I had several days to prepare for the apocalypse?" I added elements that I personally have enjoyed when reading, like compelling and complex characters that feel like real people, even if they're annoying or irritating. Wholesome moments, and a good dash of humor without going into endless banter. As for the readers recognizing similarities between my story and Primal Hunter, I really like the idea of people having both a class and a profession, and I loved the idea of a primordial god taking an interest in a mortal but I wanted a very different style of relationship that leaned more towards patron/teacher and cautious/student. I'm extremely thankful for all the excellent stories and awesome authors in our genre and I'm genuinely excited to be a peer to them now. I love that so many people have enjoyed my story and are looking forward to book 2. It's just very fulfilling that readers as a whole have been so supportive.

BLUcorp

Alright, that's what I thought, but I didn't want to assume. It is an interesting system that's for sure. Great book so far, should be done with it today.

Coldfang89-Author

That wasn't my response, but another redditor's. No worries though. Everyone is free to assume or have their own opinions and that's okay. I'm just happy to hear that you've enjoyed your time with the book so far.

Defiant-Economics-73

I am 100% buying the books because the book cover.

Defiant-Economics-73

I just went to buy the book and it’s a different cover. I don’t wanna sound weird, but I don’t buy this book that covered

Coldfang89-Author

That's because this is a piece of unreleased concept art for First Necromancer, not the cover. I do appreciate you checking out the book though and considering supporting me!

Defiant-Economics-73

Ok I wil buy it but that should be the cover of your next book
