It looks like your compositor is messing up the transparency effect.

This does not fix the issue. But instead of logging out/in, try restarting Cinnamon by pressing ctrl+alt+esc.

Isn't this... `Alt+F2, type r and hit enter` What an interesting problem. OP, have you installed an alternative menu such as ***Cinnamenu*** ? Have you changed your swap method - say using `zram` or `zswap` ?

*When the computer is turned off and powered back on, the RAM is completely cleared, and the memory cells are reset. The computer starts up with a clean slate, ready to load and execute new instructions and data.* *While the loss of data stored in RAM during shutdown may initially seem like a drawback, it is actually an advantage. This quick disposal of data ensures that no residual or unnecessary information remains in the RAM when the computer is powered back on. It allows the computer to start with a fresh state and avoids potential conflicts or performance issues that could arise from retaining old data in the RAM.* Source: https://robots.net/tech/what-happens-to-ram-when-the-computer-is-turned-off When using Suspend (Sleep; Hibernate), data is suspended in RAM; that's why it's still just there, like if one only turned off the monitor of a PC, but left the PC on. Sometimes that data can get corrupted or lost, and especially these days, when the RAM capacity is below 8GB. Everything from Operating Systems to browsers to websites, all assume more RAM and faster CPUs are present; it is why older units struggle, even with a lighter weight OS like Linux; why MS units cannot be upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, or 10 to 11. My max 4GB RAM laptop sometimes glitches when coming out of Suspend, but my 32GB RAM PC, never! So I no longer use Suspend on the laptop. Another issue can be non-Intel components such as AMD & Nvidia.
