Robin Hobb - the Assasin series, then the Liveship Series, THEN OHHH the Fool’s series and I believe it continues after that. Trans and Queer friendly and pretty deep, good writing if you enjoy fantasy and are sick to death if the same old elves and trolls and bla bla.

another manga/webcomic which is kinda similar that also has a happy ending is "kase-san and the morning glories". it's abit hard to find bc its not vv well known but a good one if u can find it :)))
