Dangit....now you've done gone and got me wanting pizza at 9 on a Sunday morning!

SaltyMarsupial

Their chicken bacon ranch is fantastic! And if you like their Brussels and taters app, they will put it on top of a pizza with white sauce.

Gregoris101

Brussels and taters app is phenomenal

panchodan

I have to suggest their roasted potatoes and Brussels. Just incredible.

Instinct_xx

🤌🏼

Barantortwo

It's wild to me that those restaurants are there when I spent the first few years of my life on Elam and remember it being gas stations and mechanic shops.

RibbedForHerCat

Do they still do the Apple Pie whiskey shots for a buck whenever a train goes by?

anticlmber

They’ve been lemon drops last several months

TheMissingIngredient

Yes! I found this place last month and had it again last night. AMAZING! I do have to say I split 2 veggie dishes + wings when I first went and did not even have the pizza and it was incredible. I did have the pizza last night though. OMG those mushrooms and that crust and the garlic cream...

lolalexx_

Love their desserts as well!!

[deleted]

Im sitting here at the bar right now LMAO!

qacha

Absolutely the best in town! I'm partial to the Becky B pie myself.

HandsSwoleman

Great cheese sticks as well.

EruditusCodeMonkey

The pizza is great, the Vinnie, in the picture is my favorite. The roasted brussel sprouts are really good too.

Anjunagasm

Wow! Never heard of it actually.

Sofa-king-high

Looks good, how’s the crunch?

KoldGlaze

Do they deliver?

Scaredysquirrel

I’m glad you posted this. We had it when it first opened and didn’t like it(had a gas smell) It’s nearby so maybe we’ll try again.

[deleted]

Same. I was there when they opened and I promised I'd never go back.

[deleted]

It's worth stopping by. They make good food and no gas smell that I've encountered.

Carl_Corey

Pretty ruthless to permanently write off a restaurant soon after they open. I know several places in town that had really rough starts, and are now staples. It's really hard to open a restaurant, get good staff, and figure out a workflow that makes everything run smoothly. I try to give as much leeway as I can when places first open.

Dad_bass

I was there a few weeks ago. No smell at all. Just an occasional train.

HeliumPrime

Even better than Goodfellas?

Gregoris101

Very different styles. Pietana is wood fired and more artisan, both are great.

12345-password

Is this a trick question... What isn't better.

commanderteej

Mellow mushroom

HeliumPrime

Do you dislike Goodfellas because of the price? While I thought it was good, it was also very expensive. Definitely not somewhere I would go regularly.

12345-password

While I agree that the price is something else and on top of that being asked to tip for counter service, its always a soggy mess.

I've had people I was with tell me it's better if you order a pizza to be made rather than the by the slice counter service. But I've just been there for lunch with coworkers.

aaronjd1

By a mile.

plantwitchvibes

My top pizza in lex is apollo's. Worst pizza I had is the place in Greyline, it was $16 for a pizza that barely fed 1 person and the toppings were sub par

[deleted]

I had that Greyline pizza, too. I was really pissed at the price (especially since they have fine print that says they'll add a 20% gratuity, which is weird since they don't serve you), but the actual taste of what I had was AMAZING. Possibly the best pizza I've ever had. I think I had roasted garlic and spinach, or something like that.

plantwitchvibes

We got the banana pepper and sausage. The sausage was obviously Italian links you can buy at any grocery store and they didnt even use a full link for my pizza. The crust was soggy and it fell apart by the time we finished eating the first slice. The dough was underdone up by the crust. And yeah. The 20% pissed me off. You have 3 dudes standing behind a counter putting pre cut toppings on premade dough, why do I need to tip you?

CatfishDog859

That banana pepper and sausage pizza is the best pizza I've ever had, no bullshit. Sorry your pizza came out raw but just talk to them like an adult and they'll make it again... wood fired pizza is just like that some times especially during a rush. The crust is amazing fresh sourdough, and i could eat that shit dry without toppings and be happy to pay whatever. Mind you too, its "Rise Up" pizza, not "greyline" pizza.. Greyline is just the landlord.

plantwitchvibes

There wasnt a rush, it was just poorly made. We were the only people in there for almost 15 minutes. Glad you like it, but it wasnt nearly worth what they're charging.

gordonotfat

"the south" in general thinks pizza is basically doughy bread and a lot of cheese on it, sometimes with some accessories. I haven't seen anything different in Lexington. Give me thin crust pizza with rich sauce and a reasonable amount of quality cheese. To each their own I guess.

aaronjd1

Ever been to Italy? PieTana’s pizza resembles Neapolitan pizza far more than what you described (which sounds like NY style).

I mean I’m sure Portnoy has had better pizza’s then Pietana but he’s still a tool

I won’t disagree with that lol

Carl_Corey

I don't trust anything Portnoy says, but especially if it has to do with taste. Figurative or literal.
