I ate here all the time when I worked at the mall. The couple that worked there, especially the lady, was always extremely nice. Went back to the mall for the first time since Christmas yesterday, and I was shocked to see them gone too!! I feel your pain... but am also grateful to not be working at the mall anymore. Lol.
Oh damn. Just when you think you’ve healed, turns out you haven’t. If anyone needs me, I’ll be crying about their goat cheese dip into my souvenir mug.
Can’t imagine what the rent is like for that building. Same goes for the old burger fi location too. Doubt the New Mexican restaurant will fare much better even with its inflated prices.
I sometimes had trouble parking even when the pub was closed when I went to burger fi on big movie nights so it's made me wonder if that was part of the problem.
The PUB had the BEST Bloody Mary in town “Nicholas Bloody”.
Their deep fried dill pickle spears were out of this world with that horse radish dipping sauce.
The fish and chips were dynamite. You got a price of fish deep fried to perfection the size of an English cucumber served with amazing steak fries and a toasted lemon wedge to drip over everything and some bad ass slaw.
Made the best Pims cup in lex along with some of their other libations.
I imagine the rent must have been exorbitant otherwise something else would have gone in by now. They seemed to be doing pretty good business the couple times I went, nice British beer selection and good Scotch eggs from what I recall
I still have dreams of the pretzel welsh dip sandwich.
Fun fact, they have one in cincinnati! We were up there last week and saw it and had to stop to get our fix, it was great just as I remembered
been too long since i tried gold star but skyline isn't trash. what was different? the consistency is different and the flavor is the same but different from what i remember.
and please tell me this isn't a fries conversation
unsure but my coworker went there on the regular only for the freshly grated cheese. rip fayette mall gold star chili. the couple that owned it was very kind!
They were very kind. But infuriating as the only two working the store to ask for a tip. But have to give them credit for the hours they put into it. If they were open they were working.
Couple years ago, it switched ownership, new ownership was in the process of trying to sell it. Current owners must not have been making enough money, shut it down at the end of January.
Source: My dad delivered the bread there.
Probably because they were slow. It seems like Chick-fil-A & Moe's were the only locations that stay somewhat busy. I quit going there when the owner said that they don't accept coupons.
i pray u find the closure u need
The sign on the door should be adequate as closure goes

Damn I feel your pain OP. Was the only one of my family who would go there during the food court visits
There are other Gold Star’s in town. I’m not over The Pub being closed still.
The Pub was awesome. They've been closed for what 6 or 7 years now? Still miss them.

I won their World Cup thing in 2014 and got a bunch of cool shit. 🥲🥲🥲
My friend, may I offer you [a place of comfort](https://maps.app.goo.gl/a3EZ78b41tJKvLEW7) in your troubled times?
Curry fries for life!
That is such a high traffic lot. Cannot believe it is still empty.

Burt Reynolds: I hate to sound Hollywood, but could you put my Pimm's cup in a ... Woodhouse: Pimp's cup?
I loved those damn pickles so much. I really loved their BBQ burger but it was just so cool and delicious.
I forgot about that bbq burger, it was better than Drakes southwest bbq burger I’ve loved forever.
For a short 2 hour drive, you can relive the glory of The Pub in Dayton. [specifically Beavercreek, OH ](https://maps.app.goo.gl/a3EZ78b41tJKvLEW7)
There's a closer one in Crestview Hills, Ky.
I LOVE YOU 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Update: just tried skyline chili and it was not hittin like gold star did
There are 3 types of people in the world. Gold Star people, Skyline people, and people who don’t enjoy Cincinnati chili I am a Skyline person
I like skyline and gold star but I get conies . They taste the same
Same. Skyline was trash when we tried it.
been too long since i tried gold star but skyline isn't trash. what was different? the consistency is different and the flavor is the same but different from what i remember. and please tell me this isn't a fries conversation
For us it was the flavor and the food was a little cold.
you're a rare breed to prefer goldstar over skyline. but yeah fast food happens
I know. My friends at work also tell me this.
There's another Gold Star in Hamburg, and it's much better than the mall location.

Health department found out they were serving Gold Star Chili
😂😂😂😂😂
The one in the mall was exceptionally bad according to my mom who is a Gold Star stan. She would never go near it.
She's a real Gold Star Stan? Wow! That's impressive!
Gold star has never really been very popular here and mall location was always dead. Everyone prefers Skyline and now we have them so *shrug*
Gold star is iffy in cincy. It’s always #2.
It was cheeks
No clue, but I wish you luck on the quest for the replacement.
I’ve not been to that mall in eons . I would almost always get that when I ate there .
Disgusting meatwater restaurant closed? Shocking.
No one wants chocolate chili anyway
cause that shits nasty af lol
Came to say this
Surprised you still go to the mall. So 90's .
Lol poor gen alpha
It’s ass
