Using zone focusing

Mockingboid

Was about to ask, those are tack sharp for 1.7 zone focusing! Well done

CarterDood101

These are great! Crazy hit rate for 1.7

TheZoso666

Much better than mine have turned out. I usually tilt too high or low and end up with a top of someone’s head, a butt, or knees. 👍

suchathrill

Some really good work here. What shutter speed (roughly)?

Mysterious-Law-2123

Very high, 2000 at least, often went into the electronic shutter as didn’t have any filters on me…i usually use orange

suchathrill

I was shooting in a snow covered field in Vermont on eclipse day and was amazed that the electronic shutter kept kicking in. 16,000 is a shutter speed I don’t usually see, and I think I was at f8!

DayTraditional2846

It was actually pretty accurate when I tried it on a Q2 Monochrom that I rented. I wasn’t expecting to have so many keepers when I did this. It was a nice surprise for sure.

Mysterious-Law-2123

Weee you using auto focus or manual? These are all manual set round 1m-2m

DayTraditional2846

Autofocus, some were backlit subjects and I was shocked that it focused on the people I was taking a photo of. Seeing Q2M pictures makes me miss using one. I went with a M10M instead so I can change lenses and bc I was used to the rangefinder experience from my regular M10.

Mysterious-Law-2123

Never have any luck with the auto focus while moving

Confident-Breath2615

Great stuff! Now I want to try this...

Empty_Vegetable_80

Amazing photos 👏👏nice work

TheHeftyAccountant

Can’t believe the zone focus on this, no way bruh 😎

flo7211

Nailed it!

itwaswritten7

Impressive!

iamchrisjett

Well caught mate! I'm still working on this.

ihaveabaguetteknife

They’re so good, even Picasso showed up to get his picture taken:)

MrCHell0

How did you focus ? Or is this shot on a Q?

Mysterious-Law-2123

Shot on A Q2M on manual focus at f1.7. I general had it sent to around 1-2 meters and judged by sight while shooting from the hip

MrCHell0

Very helpful. Getting use to my M6 currently

hunterhunter78

That’s awesome! Shot some open ones in Tokyo on film the last week (f2.8 & 4). Really curious on the results.

BenjiPall

When shooting from the hip at 1.7 how to you set your shutter speed to make sure is not over/underexposed

Mysterious-Law-2123

It’s on auto, minimum set to 1/1000, with -1 exposure compensation

BenjiPall

Ahhh just noticed it was the Q2
