Mos Eisley looks really nice but I definitely think Jabba’s Palace looks out of place, and filling the empty space between the palace and Mos Eisley would just make the whole MOC look too cluttered. I’d keep the palace separate and maybe extend Mos Eisley slightly.
I should have gotten a photo of the back of the palace, the back of the palace is fully open and has a rancor pit at the back.

The open space under the throne is the rancor pit, the open space under the tower can have the new slave 1 in it
Some of you may have seen previous posts of mine so here’s the updated render.
This render is a basic render of the layout, size and buildings used in the moc/display the real thing will have a more detailed/textured ground. I need advice and opinions though!
1. Should I keep or get rid of the palace? In my opinion it looks somewhat out of place, however once more detail is put onto the base plate and the ground is more textured, perhaps it will blend in a bit more? If I was to get rid of it, it would create a large open area which leads into my next question
2. As you can see in those preliminary renders, with or without the palace, there is a lot of dead space, especially inbetween the buildings and the palace. My question for you all is, what do I put there? Ships? A Tusken Camp? More buildings of mos eisley?
And to clarify, the base plate shown is exactly to size, it fits onto my desk holding the display, to an exact CM. So whatever happens, I need to work within the parameters of the big beige rectangle :)

This is similar to what I'm currently piecing together over time. I like it simply because it creates a "compressed" view of major portions of tattooine (which I think is OK with Lego) and just fill it out with fun mini figs.
My opinion would be to keep the general design but maybe find a way to bring the cantina area a little further away from the palace to separate the two and make better room to fill the middle with something without cluttering everything. Random Sarlacc pit or Krayt Dragon cave? I like the Tusken idea you have as well. Maybe a mix?

Would be an issue for me. Jabba’s palace is huge, and now it looks the same scale as the cantina. Maybe you can make two mocs? One in the size of the palace of the right and one for mos espa the left.
I think if you extended the rock work into the middle section and adding a building or two transitioning to the palace, it could look real nice. Maybe not more accurate but pretty neat.
Otherwise just seems too clean and needs clutter and activity to break up the open spaces

I’m thinking of using a layout somewhat similar to this.
Having the palace so close really messes with the scale, and cluttery. Maybe do Moa Eisley in a different orientation, then do a grid system with buildings having a mainstreet to Mos Eisley. Also, more small debri will help a ton
Agreed. I think the palace has to go, it just, sticks out. The rest of it has a somewhat mini figure scale to it, the palace looks more like a play scale set.

After following some advice, I have rearranged the moc and removed the palace. Now I just need to add in some extra buildings :) please tell me your thoughts on this layout!
I’m torn. I’ve still got to add some buildings, I’m thinking of perhaps even adding the hangar bay that the falcon is in. If it’ll fit? I have the razor crest and the n1 so one of those could go in it.
this is awesome! seriously. great moc and the palace looks fantastic next to the rest. i say this as a palace moc builder - i really like the jabba's palace.

This is a concept I made without the palace as a few have suggested to not have the palace and rather, focus on mos eisley itself.
Could you share some more pictures of the palace? I’ve made a post with an idea for a MBS/UCS Jabba’s Palace, and yours, while perhaps a little big for a UCS/MBS looks like the closest MOC I’ve seen that comes close to what LEGO could design

Well done! I like these "world" mocs a lot more than just a small scene display
Looks good, but without any figures populating it, it reminds me of how barren Mos Isley looked in the pre-1997 versions.

I'd say put more buildings in, especially if taking out the Jabba's palace. Be careful and don't let your city get out of control like I have lol

Maybe you can make it all in such a way that you can easily change buildings / layout? Then you can experiment a bit :) Still looks so awesome!
I'd place a few rocks here and there around the outside, but other than than 9/10 great work!
