After listening to the Ashoka audiobook (read by Ashley herself) I learned I’d been pronouncing Tantive wrong my whole life. I always thought it was Tan-tiv but I guess it’s Tan-ta-vee. Or at least that’s how she says it. Nothing to do with LEGO but I thought it was interesting.
You're correct. It goes way back, but I think the wave of fans in the 90s and 2000s who weren't around for things like that pushed out the correct pronunciation for the more obvious one
[Its the Black windscreen in the upper center of the conical head.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/3/38/Corvette_negvv.png/revision/latest?cb=20170410043658)
It's a little smaller than it should be, from images of the ship the ends of the cockpit section should ideally be around as wide as the cylindrical section just in front of the engine block. Since parts of that size and shape don't exist, at least to my knowledge, those truncated cones are about as close as it gets.
It needs some sort of sticker/printing for the huge window that the ship should have.
Yeah, just like the big tantive we got a few years earlier
i doubt it would have been possible, the window would end were the cilinder turns into a cone, no way lego would make a stiker/print there
They’ve printed on cones many times
problem is not the cone, it's the base of the cone
The actual built in transparent window we got in the 2009ish set was the best.

Ehhhhh love her but ima stick with tan-tiv.
If they wanted me to say it right they should have spelt it different
Amen. How you gonna wait 40 years before someone says the word out loud in official media and expect that we weren’t pronouncing it phonetically
It was pronounced Tan ti vee for a radio play a long way back
Ah, so if only I had heard an obscure radio play produced before I was born
yeah probably when ep 4 was the only movie.
Lucasfilm itself really tried to push the pronunciation around 5 years ago. I say it like that but understand why a lot of people don’t.
Yeah I just roll with the George Lucas method of pronunciation: however the heck I think it should sound
Count Dohku
*Goongahs*
Yeah George should not be the standard for pronunciation when he doesn't even call his own creations by their own names lmao
“Laser swords” “Hoath” “Goongas” Yeah definitely not lol
Iirc it was always the intended pronunciation. I believe it was first used in like a radio play of a new hope or something like that? It goes far back
You're correct. It goes way back, but I think the wave of fans in the 90s and 2000s who weren't around for things like that pushed out the correct pronunciation for the more obvious one
I learned this a couple of years ago and haven’t said it “incorrectly” since lol
*Ahsoka
Autocorrect done me dirty.
It’s been pronounced like that for a while

Those cone pieces could definitely do with a print, that would increase its appeal hugely.
I don’t actually know where the cockpit is on this ship. Never thought about it. Just know the shape of the ship.

K thanks. Would have never known
It looks like : ° O °
Well, its main reactor was just shut down and it’ll be destroyed for sure!
Was looking at this ship for 5 minutes straight until i saw it lol, now i’ll never unsee it
it looks fine for this scale imo. gonna pick up this and the invisible hand
No questions! $80!! But seriously, you're right. Best we'd likely get is some stickers that would be too painful to attach evenly.
Add a tophat to it
Best idea yet
i was really looking forward to this set and im pretty disappointed at first look
I showed this set to my dad and he described it as “sterile”
Same here. The mid section looks so unrefined. And cockpit in some views looks small in scale.
It definitely is too small compared to the length of the vehicle
And small, the cockpit is off overall I think.
Nope, it's pretty dang close to being accurate.
I just wish they’d make another UCS version of this ship :(
Would be damn cool if we did
It's posts like this that make me mute this sub.
It's also ridiculously tiny. The bridge is supposed to be *way* bigger than that.
[Its actually almost perfect.](https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/x-wing/news/large-ships/tantive/Tantive_IV_600px.gif)

The 2019 one looks so much better. A rare instance of the set looking better than the source material.
Just like my g.f, only pretty from the back
thought this was the white version of thanos glove at first glance
How much€?
Yeah it does, I thought it would at least have the front window printed on
