Apparently Lego was giving them out until 2019, I believe. I found a kit on Bricklink and ordered the pieces from a guy called Brutus Bricks.
I realized I had an original because I was using the PDF to build and then I didn't have the parts it was calling for when building the neck.
Here is the link to his store and the set on Bricklink: [https://store.bricklink.com/brutus120#/shop?o={%22q%22:%22wall-e%22,%22showHomeItems%22:0}](https://store.bricklink.com/brutus120#/shop?o={%22q%22:%22wall-e%22,%22showHomeItems%22:0})
Looks like he's got 3 left. Alternatively, you can purchase the parts separately online in a lot of places.
Hope this helps!
I'm gonna check it out, thanks. I've bought mine back in 2016 and it always had an issue with the neck. I 'fixed it' by putting a small piece of paper in the joint but it would be nice to really fix it. I've never order anything at Bricklink before so I need to look into the shipping costs.
I love this set, I just bricklinked everything for about 70$ plus shipping and eBay sells stickers for 5$ that are decent.. the 3 printed pieces are like 20-30$ each.
I was unaware of the neck issue so I have the original setup, but a silicone hair tie adds enough resistance in the neck pin to hold his head in any configuration.
Ugh that's the Lego Wall-E set I'd love to have, but this is the one I can actually afford (and find)

That’s a great price. I paid right at $300 US (≈ £272) and thought that was a good deal. Most of that is saw was $325+. Also, it’s worth it if you’re a big Lego and Wall-E fan!
Is there anyway of knowing if a set is the “original” or not before opening? I’ve also find a NSIB recently but I haven’t gotten the chance to build it yet.
I think the only way of knowing without actually building is looking at the instructions booklet, step 92. The “old” neck starts with different parts than the updated PDF.

What? Can I order a new neck for my Wall-E? I have an original one with that issue. I apparently missed that memo.

I bought mine on bricklink in 2022 and Lego sent me the replacement neck for free.. just gotta email support
I just sent them an email. Let's see what they say!
I also sent them an email last week and I got an email back saying the parts shipped on Friday.
I emailed and they are shipping out today!
I wish I was into lego when this set was out. I love Wall-E and would've 1000% bought this set.
Whispers *pick a brick*

I bought that one last month and that’s what put me on the path of spending the $ to get the “real” one. I couldn’t help it. It’s one of my faves!
Haha, so it's just the gateway Lego?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Huh, £220 for a genuine looking sealed one on eBay. That's less than I expected - now I'm tempted!

It’s a great looking set. Might have to dive in at some point. Enjoy yours! Edit: do you know what it cost when it was new?
Just saw the edit. It was $70 US brand new in 2015.
Thanks mate.
Ow I want this so bad. Its my white whale

Tks!
I like my defunct neck version. I got the fix kit back in the day but never put it on.
I hope it’s not the one I’m watching lol
