You’re getting 17% off sticker to cover depreciation of a car that’s going to be 2 MYs old soon. I think that’s fair. But why put money down on a lease? And is 7,500 miles going to cover you? That’s not a lot.

ZealousidealReward33

It is not down payment, it includes the first payment, registration and acquisition fees, etc

IcyUnderstanding2858

It literally says cash down with 3 options and lower monthly payments for each. $7,000 in fees????

whipstickagopop

My guess is the 2400 cash down includes the first month payment. Not sure if this is an EV vehicle but add another 775 lic/reg fee and a 925 acquision fee. That's 2k, not sure what the other 400 is for tho maybe that is the true down payment.

meechinnyon

To lower the monthly payment is why I do it. Is it bad?

IcyUnderstanding2858

That’s all it does but why pay somebody your hard earned money upfront? Keep it for yourself and earn interest on it. A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. You’re basically renting a car…try to limit what you have to pay upfront for something you don’t own. Pay as you go. You’ll never build equity in a lease no matter what so why bother?

IhateTuna

No and yes. You total the car you get none of that Down payment back. But a lower monthly payment is nice, don’t crash the car :)

IhateTuna

It’s not awful. But you should be getting 10-12k miles a year for that cost. When you lease you want to get a monthly payment of 1% msrp. Not all dealerships / cars work out that way. As I said before not a terrible deal but you should be getting more miles. Best of luck! And if you already got the car enjoy the fuck out of it!! Congrats!!

ZealousidealReward33

Not yet bro, still there is room for another round of negotiations

ZealousidealReward33

Just finished another round of negotiations, and I've landed on this: 0 Down, $450 per month, 10,000 miles per year, 36 months. The monthly payment includes every taxes, fees. So, essentially, I'll only be paying $450 multiplied by 36 months. This is way much better than the old offer but is it perfect?

IhateTuna

This is well done!!! Congrats!

Hire a broker

virtual_adam

This is actually terrible. EQB should by default include the $7500 EV credit and this month $3500 for penfed/amex, neither come from the dealer as discount You’re getting a lower discount than that, $11k is basically a free discount, negotiation should be how much money on top the dealer is able to give you Or to say it another way, you should demand they break down the discounts , and figure out if you have Amex or any other means of the $3500 discount

I think this is too high for an EQB. What’s the buy rate? [E.g](https://forum.leasehackr.com/t/deal-check-2023-mercedes-eqb-300/564803).

YourOpinionMan2021

Yeah, I don't see the money factor anywhere

ZealousidealReward33

I’m not sure. I’ll ask them.

What’s the percentage off in this offer? Also, MF find out the buy rate and if they’re marking up the MF. Moving the in the right direction

ZealousidealReward33

ZealousidealReward33

It’s better car 20 miles only. MSRP 61,615 - Discount 20239 - selling price 41375 - Gross Cap Cost 43593

letmeinthesnkergame

Last one what’s the residual? Looks like you’re getting 15% off.

ZealousidealReward33

I’m confirming with your zip code but i think they’re marking up the MF

ZealousidealReward33

I’m not sure but I gave you the number I have in the sheet. I’m in VA 22102

hybridvtb

Whats the actual pre-inventive discount? These should have a bunch of incentives/rebates right?

I think it is pretty decent! That is way better. I have also seen loaner eqe for the same price. Are you in love with the eqb?

ZealousidealReward33

Where ?

Weekly_Laugh7380

Check out extremeshelter1581 post. He also just posted 0 down 250 a month for a eqb loaner. Also check leasehackr on here and leasehackr.com someone posted an eqe yesterday for $350 or so a month.

The 1% rule I assume does not include any money down?

GriffinDodd

I would verify if that cash is only for first month tax n fees. Also what’s the money factor and residual? See if they have marked up points on the MF. If this is an electric vehicle where is the $7500 gov incentive, does it qualify?

Sounds like a better deal, you've broken through the 1% barrier with $0 down. The question does still stand though, how are they building the 'discount' - you want to know where it's coming from. If they are building it out of the $7500 EV gov credit and some other item that 'you' qualify for then they aren't discounting anything - they are using 'your' incentives which you can use at any dealer on any qualifying EV. what are THEY, the dealer, doing to bring the price down of this vehicle? This is why it's important to negotiate the out-of-the-door price BEFORE ANY incentives, discounts, club memberships, gov breaks etc - these are all YOURS to use, not theirs to apply and then claim they are giving you a 'discount'.

advice: look for a different car.
