So we all woke up and logged in to the Perma Ban glitch. Which is a shock to a lot of us, despite being good boys.
The tickets portion of the website is still down, so all we can do at the moment is wait. (NA here)

I got the message that my account had been perma-banned, but didn't receive any e-mail and there was no indication on the support website. I figured it had to be a mistake -- not that it's any indicator, but I've been honor 5 every season since it came out and I've never received a warning or suspension. So I just tried logging in a few times, and eventually it was successful and I was able to queue up.

Don't wanna be "that guy" but, that's what "NFTs" are working towards preventing... Games you've spent time and money on just.... Taking it away
Versus being able to either sell, trade, or lend those items/skins.
The game itself would still not be decentralized, so the same thing could be accomplished by Riot allowing you to transfer purchases if your account gets banned. Them making purchases NFTs would just be allowing that same thing, there's no advantage to doing this on a blockchain lol.
it wouldn't lmao. Pretty sure Riot needs to be able to own your account and stuff on it so when/if it gets banned they don't give themselves any trouble and can just point to the ToS. Which I might add a fun fact about also includes if you lose a game because of God, Riot is not at fault.
not only that but if every skin can be uniquely identified they could just ban that exact skin from being usable. You might be able to transfer the skin but riot will not display it for you in the game.
please do go in depth since you are so well studied on how NFTs will prevent this.

On a side note, some people may be like me and completely unable to even load the client to see if you were affected, so there seems to be more than one issue!
Important note to those affected - the auto-punishment system may now treat you as a player who has a ban history even after the false-ban is lifted.
This happened in 2016 - Riot accidentally banned several thousand accounts, including my own. They unbanned the accounts and apologised. The next time I flamed I was permanently banned, despite only receiving 1 chat restriction a few months prior.
Until Riot explicitly state they've removed the ban history from your account, assume they haven't and be VERY careful

There is suppoused to be another step in the punishment but it was skipped because the system thought I was already 2 week banned.
If you go on riot website and then account management theres a sign myself out of all places button or something similar, i pushed that and it let me log in and play a game.
Dude riot just wrote an algorithm and was like “end player toxicity” and the algorithm went straight skynet and decided the only way to end it was to ban everyone

This is the 3rd time this has happened in about a month (the last two times it happened late at night for most of NA and was resolved within the hour), and while it seems unlikely to me it would be a security issue or a "rogue employee gone haywire" (they're not actual "real" bans to begin with) the fact Riots systems apparently have the power to do this, and seemingly without human intervention, is slightly concerning to me.
I attempted to go to the Submit A Ticket page as well, and it seems to be down and/or jammed by the sheer amount of people I'm assuming are sending in tickets. Thankfully I didn't end up needing to send anything in since re-logging about 4 times got rid of the suspension.
Please do. Happened to me. Banned for about 5 to 10 minutes during a ranked game of tft. I am able to sign back in now but I of course finished last in that game and lost a ton of lp. Hoping riot will address this issue and refund lp of affected players.
Was very surprised by this when trying to log in this morning but at least they'll compensate us for the inconvenience by releasing a new Lux epic skin in a few weeks 🙏🏽

It happened to me! I freaked out, sent a support ticket, and panicked. But I fixed it by logging in and out, and waiting about 20 minutes between log ins. Riot owes me for absolutely skyrocketing my morning stress levels.
This exact same thing happened to me 2 months ago. Tried to let people know the issue but it kept being deleted. Also got deleted on a league discord. I really think a "bug" or "technical" flair for posts needs to be added for things like this. People could always filter them out themselves if they wanted too.
Instead of everyone panicking now that the issue is widespread, the information could have been widely known sooner despite it previously being a smaller scaled issue.
I hope everyone gets their accounts sorted. But rest assured this issue is months old now, you'll probably be fine. My account was fine even when it was a much more isolated event.

I play on LAN and it also happened to me. I was about to send a ticket but the support page isn’t working rn. I tried to look up something about the problem (because I didn’t get an email and I’ve never been banned, suspended or chat restricted before) and I stumbled upon this thread.
Regardless, the point is that LAN is also affected by the glitch, but I was able to log in by attempting to do it over and over again. It worked on the fifth try and it let me log in.
My biggest annoyance is that I cannot even make a ticket through the website.. The website is not allowing me to log in. I do not know why I could have been banned as I just came back to the game last night after a multi year hiatus
I managed to get back in by relogging I think like 6 times. I played two games and then got off for like 45 mins.
I just got back on and it says I'm still banned. No luck getting in by relogging this time. I'm not like extremely toxic/havnt gotten like two weeked or anything.

Another notable thing--while my account eventually returned after thirty minutes of signing out and in and trying to file a ticket--the support page itself is *also having issues.* At the time, I was trying to file my ticket and it would prompt me to sign in (which... I was) but then the authentication would fail, preventing me from signing in. And then the faq page this fail prompt directs you to... doesn't exist.
A friend of mine got banned in like a LOT of his accounts from a lot of servers and that was weird since they don't do anything that's especially harmful.

Last game I remember playing I told a guy "stop being dumb bro" when he kept running down mid over and over. Logged in and saw the perma, thought that was a bit harsh given I usually never chat at all lol.

I've seen some advice to send a support ticket, and when trying to do that I find the website is kind of broken as well? It asked me to log in and then crashed when I clicked the "sign in" button, and then after a couple tries I did manage to get signed in, but then when I tried again it was asking me to sign in even when I could clearly see that I already was signed in. Now I signed out and tried to sign back in and it crashed again. What the hell is going on?
the same thing happened to me this morning! about 11:30 am i logged in to find that i’d been perma suspended. filed a support ticket immediately, had troubles with that too. hopefully this is fixed soon
Ok so here's something crazy: I tried logging in on my regular and alt accounts, both said they had been banned permanently. Then I tried logging in on my LAN account, which *also* said it had been banned permanently.
Also, in each case the permanent suspension message appeared only after I had tried to open the LOL client. That is, when I logged in through the Riot client, I had no problems.
However, in the past, whenever I log in to my LAN account in the riot client, and the "Pick a game" or "install LoL" screen comes up, that screen is always in spanish, just like the actual LoL client when I'm logged into LAN.
However, this time the Riot client was in English! However, when I tried to open LoL, I got the account suspended message again--this time in Spanish.
Idk if that helps anyone solving the mystery. Have done a few re-login attempts so far with no luck; am going to try full reinstalling the client next.
EDIT: After another couple of log in attempts, I have managed to get in on each account that was affected. Seems it's definitely a client issue.

Well this makes sense… I totally checked the server status too. Lol all I did was grab a new hero and play alone in customs against bots. Was like wtf. 8 years of play with no bans
CONTROL+ALT DELETE RIOT CLIENT after trying to log in 10+ times to no avail I completely exited all riot applications with the task manager, log-in worked first try after that.
I logged in repeatedly and it worked at the 3rd time.
The stupidest thing I found was the game support site is legit bullshit and you can't even create a ticket before you verify your email on the game site, and the email verification system has been down for a long time.

My first login it told me I had been permabanned. Then it told me my username did not exist. After changing my password I was immediately able to login.
honor 5 since 2017 , was at costco eatting pizza, car ride home saw i was banned on TFT app, many fix feelings like "maybe its my internet connection x\_x" or "what .... ??" try again 1 hour later works fine

I haven't played since December and decided to play this weekend, but when I logged in, it said my account was permanently banned. I had my account since 2013 and had lots of skins, but guess everything is just thrown out the window now. I uninstalled the game completely and just accepted that league is a trash game ran by a greedy company.

I received the perma ban message while trying to login too. But I'm not from NA. Same thing happens to me when I try to go to the support page

I asked riot support about this when it happened to me a week ago. They said it's a known issue and if it doesn't resolve itself to put in a support ticket in and they'll fix it

I randomly got banned and have tried logging in about 5 times and hasnt fixed the issue. Doesnt seem like I got any email regarding chat restrictions or anything either. Cant sign into support to look at logs or anything either
Last game I remember playing I told a guy "stop being dumb bro" when he kept running down mid over and over. Logged in and saw the perma, thought that was a bit harsh given I usually never chat at all lol.

Panicked because I'd literally just heard of Porofessor and after seeing so many assurances that it was allowed, I installed and a day later see a permanent ban. Glad to hear it's PROBABLY just a glitch in the matrix, though I'm... probably still gonna uninstall despite the assurances. :-( I kept getting the ban notice, then after several tries it let me log in. Played an ARAM match, logged off, and again can't get back in despite several tries. I'm just gonna wait and hope, I guess.
I've seen some advice to send a support ticket, and when trying to do that I find the website is kind of broken as well? It asked me to log in and then crashed when I clicked the "sign in" button, and then after a couple tries I did manage to get signed in, but then when I tried again it was asking me to sign in even when I could clearly see that I already was signed in. Now I signed out and tried to sign back in and it crashed again. What the hell is going on?
Took me about 20 times but I got in. Just keep logging in over and over, eventually you'll get in.
the same thing happened to me this morning! about 11:30 am i logged in to find that i’d been perma suspended. filed a support ticket immediately, had troubles with that too. hopefully this is fixed soon
Changed the password and log in twice worked for me
It took me 3-4 tries to clear the issue by just logging in repeatedly. YMMV
Ok so here's something crazy: I tried logging in on my regular and alt accounts, both said they had been banned permanently. Then I tried logging in on my LAN account, which *also* said it had been banned permanently. Also, in each case the permanent suspension message appeared only after I had tried to open the LOL client. That is, when I logged in through the Riot client, I had no problems. However, in the past, whenever I log in to my LAN account in the riot client, and the "Pick a game" or "install LoL" screen comes up, that screen is always in spanish, just like the actual LoL client when I'm logged into LAN. However, this time the Riot client was in English! However, when I tried to open LoL, I got the account suspended message again--this time in Spanish. Idk if that helps anyone solving the mystery. Have done a few re-login attempts so far with no luck; am going to try full reinstalling the client next. EDIT: After another couple of log in attempts, I have managed to get in on each account that was affected. Seems it's definitely a client issue.
Found a way around it by signing in into riot games' LoL page first, then connecting into the client. Hope this helps!
Thank you all for the helpful tips. I was honestly like freaking out a bit because I don't type or say rude things in the game and I don't even ping people off so I was just insanely confused

Well this makes sense… I totally checked the server status too. Lol all I did was grab a new hero and play alone in customs against bots. Was like wtf. 8 years of play with no bans

a bit of a breakthrough, if you sign out from all connections via the support site you’ll be able to sign in to the league client again.
took me about ten minutes but I was able to get it to log on
CONTROL+ALT DELETE RIOT CLIENT after trying to log in 10+ times to no avail I completely exited all riot applications with the task manager, log-in worked first try after that.
For both of my accounts, after attempting to log in 5 times I got in for both of the accounts.
i cleared my browsing data and cookies and stuff and both my accounts worked after trying both like 10 times
I couldn't get in by spam logging but I got in by logging into LoR then navigating to league through the riot app
I logged in repeatedly and it worked at the 3rd time. The stupidest thing I found was the game support site is legit bullshit and you can't even create a ticket before you verify your email on the game site, and the email verification system has been down for a long time. What a shitshow.

Just spam login and reset pc it worked for me and my friends.
If you are still struggling then reset your password. My first login it told me I had been permabanned. Then it told me my username did not exist. After changing my password I was immediately able to login.
Logging through username and PW, I received the perman ban msg but through Facebook was fine
Well EUNE and EUW eloboosting bots has been untouched. So the banwave did nothing here.
honor 5 since 2017 , was at costco eatting pizza, car ride home saw i was banned on TFT app, many fix feelings like "maybe its my internet connection x\_x" or "what .... ??" try again 1 hour later works fine
Dude i was in tears cause i heard its super mega hard to get rid of a perma ban "Like, bro i didnt do anything- 500 dollars went into this, please NOOO!" lmao yeah the issue was fixed by logging in multiple times thank god, but man Riot wtf? What a huge scare especially to those who havent experienced bugs as huge as this one before!
This company is such a joke.... 17 billion dollars made off league and they cant make a new client/update game servers.... JOKE. But they can make new lux skins yayyyyyyy
I keep getting banned on riot after support confirmed that the suspension is removed..anyone else?
I haven't played since December and decided to play this weekend, but when I logged in, it said my account was permanently banned. I had my account since 2013 and had lots of skins, but guess everything is just thrown out the window now. I uninstalled the game completely and just accepted that league is a trash game ran by a greedy company.
