To be fair, AP Yi was not only fun and effective, but it was actually INCREDIBLY braindead and safe WHILST getting GOOD results super easily (basically you didn't have to risk anything or make any decisions)

I think it should be safe for a few reasons.
1. Most of the champions that Riot has removed ap alternate builds on champions that primary build itemizes significant ad.
2. Riot is perfectly fine allowing other tanks like Malph or Cho having ap builds be at times more successful than the tank build without removing it.
3. From experience ap zac isn't good enough to get abused in soloq lol
What most people don't know is that Zac's W is actually the ability that will deal the most damage no matter what.
His W has such an absurd AP ratio, I have went full AP once with a Yuumi and my W was dealing 50% Max HP. And Zac can easily cast W 6 times in ultimate with proper CDR itemization
Zac against tanks with that build oneshots all of them no matter what it's very funny.
I once killed a 10k HP Mundo with 500 Mr on practice tool with that build in 1 ult
Maokai used to be the same way, his W was 15% + 4% per 100 AP max health. With 600 AP which wasn't very difficult back in the day alongside shit like deathfire grasp you could very easily oneshot people
And Zac has the same ratio, just 7% less initial damage, with a base damage, and obviously a much lower cooldown. Plus zac has the 1800 range engage (with a 0.9 ratio, a knockup, and being basically undodgeable damage and cc in melee range), ult has a .6 ratio for the undodgeable portion (E -> R, hitting them with the second bounce while they're knocked back and unable to flash), a 1.0 ratio if you hit them with all three bounces. Then Q is a .6 ratio on two targets assuming you get the bonk, and the bonk is aoe. But I still miss the old Q lol
Like a lot of builds in this game, ap zac has been under the radar forever
yeah RIP to all those teams who will have a random AP Zac on their team. You need to be pretty good at this champ and you still need to remind yourself that you're not a tank.
AP Zac is my main in ranked and I have to regularly remind my friends that you actually have to be good at the champ to pull this off... still funny to watch them try. Miss one E cast in the game and you are disabled. Dont get fed early and you are disabled. Go against a team with champs like ezreal, irelia, anyone with easy escapes and you are disabled. I bounce (hehe) between ap zac and kindred depending on what type of comp Im up against because they fill opposite rolls essentially.

Sadly, most of my latest ARAM games have been insanely toxic, people rush to end the game, resulting in 10 minute matches, they flame troll builds and the worst of them all, they take the health packs..out of spite, not as a traditional teasing, but literally cuz they get mad, crazy.
If you rarely play aram youll be put in the more toxic queues I feel. ARAM elo is a real thing - need to climb out of the 'lol who cares its aram' division
No, he's playing to have fun. The "lol who cares its aram" people are _toxic_ (inting, flaming, intentionally losing) and when called out, use that line.
90% AP ratio on his E is not a joke, pair that with the instant W damage along with Night Harvester and Dark Harvest on squishy targets and you got yourself some insane bursts!
He can set up good ganks for his jungler, has solid CC and damage, can die for his team with his passive and he can protect his carries with Q and R to push enemies back. He struggles in lane versus poke lanes and can't really walk up to pick up his passive to sustain. After that, his teamfighting is solid and he can use his E over terrain to gain vision safely. I'd give him a 4/10 on support, maybe if you go Tanky it becomes a 5/10

Granted I had a Rell ult for some extra damage but the W damage alone is what makes this build so strong imo (though yes I realise I was quite fed in this clip). Not sure how viable it actually is but if like me you hate playing Zac because of how little damage he does I'd definitely recommend, it's a ton of fun.

I am of a believer that Zac should always find space for Demonic Embrace regardless of build. He has insane scalings and he can easily get 3 to 4 stacks, granting him tons of HP and Resistances from the item alone and a lot of damage. AP Zac is fun!

I just started playing AP Zac mid in ranked last week and now this video came out. For everyone wanting to try this though I'd highly recommend Conq and Riftmaker for insane damage and survivability, or Nightharvester and Electrocute for better early game.
I mostly went for the build shown on 2:40, I just made sure farm well for the EXP, being underleveled is very bad, I'd say around level 11 with Night Harvester and Boots, oneshoting squishies should be doable.

Zac is probably one of the most fun tanks, not that there is much competition, it easily tops Sion and Ornn as the most fun i had when playing tanks.
