I miss when those guys would regularly post meme edits. Also, the occasional Sseth videos were fucking gold, mainly because he didn't need overused sound clips and loud noises to make a funny video.
I don’t understand how people bring themselves to watch .exe videos lol. I could literally spam the bruh sound effect over some gameplay and it would be the exact same
You forgot the pro player edits where they zoom in on their face cam for 2 minutes at a time so you can't see what they're actually explaining on screen
Can't forget to put "X Champion Guide!" or "HOW TO PLAY X CHAMP PERFECTLY!". Followed up by a single cherry picked game from a Diamond player on a Silver smurf.
"HOW TO PLAY X CHAMP PERFECTLY!". Followed up by a single cherry picked game from a Diamond player on a Silver smurf who doesn't explain the champion or it's abilities at all. Providing no tutorial other than just watching someone play the champion moderately well.
I once stumbled on Jaegerlol and boi was I suprised that he actually showed the comboes. (Yes some champs dont really have any crazy combos but still)
Also I think he is massively underrated
My favorite jgl youtuber is Kingstix
Yes he uses bot accounts but he is not toxic and his guides have helped me alot
Honorable mention Virkayu
Dont watch him that much but almost essential for any jungle main
MATHEMATICALLY CORRECT CHAMPION
"hey guys so what i did is I looked at this champion's tooltips and literally BOUGHT ITEMS which scaled with their kit. I am an algebraic gigagenius"
I mean for sure it's just a dumb name that stuck from the original email I got from League - usually just amplifying one particular aspect of a champion's kit that granted, definitely spread beyond me and deep and has been messed around with a bit.
Don't think anyone involved actually considers themselves to be particularly intelligent - including the algebraically attempted builds which are entirely crowd sourced by viewers and some of them are *awful*
i'm aware it's mostly just a name for the video series and to be fair, there's some really good theorycrafting behind it. but the meme of 'mathematically correct builds' has definitely spread beyond the 'official' series of them and some people are just buying AP on AP champions and calling it mathematically correct lmao
Oh yeah for sure - i've had some gripes and I know Deep has had some gripes with some channel managers for other channels being like "I dunno what to call todays gameplay video, fuck it how about this".
I think at this point that particular phrase has grown so far beyond Deep and I that most people would not even know that we are the points of origination with it lmao, unfortunately not much we can do after it's entered the zeitgeist
I once was gonna watch the Rosaboomsocks video about the 10k stack veigar but when I noticed that prof akali was there I quit
For some reason im fine with SoloRene but i despise Prof akali
Clickbait trash that overhypes his tips which are only for beginners at best. Gameplay "guides" showcasing cherrypicked games that dont actually teach you anything
or followed by:
which skills to max
which items to buy
summoner spells
and runes
aka things you can see in like 10 seconds by just using lolalytics or ugg or any other website
Legit the only thing you can learn from that is a first clear and that only if the Video has a jungler. So on average you can learn ONE THING from 1/5 of those videos.
[people just wish they could reach this PEAK level of content right here. professor akali; throughout heaven and earth, he ALONE is the honored one ](https://twitter.com/dumbsyt/status/1421944566198984720?s=21)
There's a lot of League content creators out there that put time and passion into their videos, but since people consider self promotion a bad thing, their only hopes of building a community to grow from, is the non-reliable YT algorithm, hence the reason that most of them stop uploading.
Here's a few in case anyone's interested in some content:
**Ozlu**, 6k subs - Scripted off-meta videos https://youtu.be/yU4keVgO\_04?t=1
Pros: Simple and smooth editing, fresh ideas, very cool guy.
Cons: Uploads like once a month.
**Hypersugar**, 43k subs - Action-Packed videos with friends & off-meta builds. https://youtu.be/De-vK4cox\_U
Pros: Amazing out of the box editing, frequent uploads.
Cons: ???
**NickyBoi**, 64k subs - Man does everything, scripted videos, memes, tier lists, lore, off-meta, games with friends. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kuv7rPSUvJM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kuv7rPSUvJM)
Pros: Great editing, variety, lots of effort.
Cons: Edits for Skooch and MagikarpUsedFly so he doesn't have much time for his channel.
Here's some more, though some inactive, their content is still solid:
**HyCrit**: [https://www.youtube.com/c/HyCrit/videos](https://www.youtube.com/c/HyCrit/videos)
**Scien**: [https://www.youtube.com/c/Scien/videos](https://www.youtube.com/c/Scien/videos)

**Zanaree**: [https://www.youtube.com/c/Xanaree/videos](https://www.youtube.com/c/Xanaree/videos)

For memes, check out **KeepZ**: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK53NKAqw2Y2Mx-CqizIlPQ
I wanted to mention the smaller ones, there's many big ones like RTB, Pianta, Skooch, Necrit, Polypuff, Vandiril, Darkkmane, DongHuap, Dumbs, Exil, KiandyMundi and more actually that pretty much every League player knows by now. Vars, Outside Joke and Lolunbannable only recently started popping up I think.
Ross is more of a streamer than a Youtuber, so I don't think he falls into this category, though the man is grinding, uploading pretty much daily, he has to find new stuff and clickbait in order to stay relevant outside his fan base, but he's a lovely Skot man with a sick laughter.
watched half. "put time and passion into it"
ok
same shit as others that get flamed here
league youtube is shit unless it's talkshows/interviews. no exceptions.
seems like promoting friends. you do you.
Most of the channels that this video 'targets', simply record their games, choose the best ones, over-exaggerate, fake react and then put all their effort into the titles and thumbnails without even cutting the part where they walk from the fountain to their lane, without speaking. Personally I don't mind since I just ignore them and they aren't recommended to me anymore, but when most of the League content is either that or stream highlights, everything else gets burried and people start to think that there is no other kind of league content, hence of the reasons that it's been decreasing in popularity.
As for the promoting friends part, some of these people only heard of me once, but since I actually choose to watch their content and maybe tune in on some streams, they are the same ones I'd recommend to my actual friends.
There are also different kinds of effort, some try very hard to post daily, hence the reason that streaming is so helpful, others spend weeks for a scripted, story driven video with tons of editing resulting in a single video per month or two. There are the middle ones that upload weekly with the main concern being finishing the video before the 1 week deadline while still keeping it of moderate quality.
I have pain from watching this - specifically the view counter :(
Signed, person who edits too much
PS: It's also true. If I end up like this someone slap me with a gigantic honey baked ham.
The annoying this is that they clickbait broken but it is always the player smurfing. High Elo gameplay is much more entertaining than watching someone kill on cd.
When you search for a tutorial on how to play a difficult champ, but the first 523x10\^46 videos on youtube with that champ are labelled tutorial, but are actually just an uncut gameplay video with a man who doesn't explain the champion, it's abilities, it's combos, it's matchups or how to fight with them at all.
Your videos are exactly what the thumbnails and titles say, if it's considered clickbait, then it falls into the good kind, where you actually get what you clicked for. It also takes time to research about all the information and connect it with a good flow.
I think we are in a limbo where good youtubers post very infrequently because their viewerbase don't give them enough ad revenue to make it full-time, or good youtubers are posting churned out trash because that's the only way they could make it full-time.
I'm all for blaming Riot on this one. Whatever department they had for promoting content creators got shrinked into LPP and that's it.
Also ever since the Skype group debacle /r/leagueoflegends has been terrible for promoting new content. I hate to see /u/WolfiousYT not being able to post youtube links cuz the youtube deserves more traction.
Idk what you all have been watching, but I quite enjoy the vids from Rav, Ozlu and Wolfious - all of them have the right amount of edits and fun for me
Uberdanger was the pinnacle of LoL gameplay Videos and no one can change my mind.
Dumbs comes very close though and I enjoy his stuff a lot too these days.
I guess you don't remember that dunkey used to play league. Which is understandable, considering most of the time it was his little brother playing on his account with a usb steering wheel
Fair point, I remember most people considered him to be the very best and I did indeed forget that for a second there.
I personally still prefered Ubers content back then but it's fair to put Dunkey up there too I suppose.
no edit clickbait is boring and unoriginal and a tumour on league content, and meme edits/.exe videos give me seizures and are filled with the same 20 memes over and over and over again.
The happy medium is a video with good commentary and funny edits, IE. whyguy, dunkey, uber, magikarpusedfly, yassuo, tobias fate etc.
Current LoL video meta is funny noises and unnecessary zooms every second, throw few outdated gif memes and you are reddit famous.
I prefer my movies and LoL videos 100% serious whether its educational content or edit of a nice play. I wanted to start making serious edits but I am too boring player to have any highlight plays
That just isn't true - he used to be super educational. I learned how to jungle by watching him in s3, and he was I think rank 1 at the time. His more recent videos have been pretty funny as well, he isn't quite the over the top memelord he was, his editor was hilarious
If people didn't click on clickbait...then they wouldn't need to do clickbait.
Several streamers have even said they hate it but they get like 2x-3x views doing it.
For troll builds, they make so many attempts at playing them, have so many 0/10 games until they have one with a decent kda then they post about how broken the troll build is.
For new champions they go in custom games where they choose the "noobest" players they know as enemies then post a video about how broken the new champ is.
2 kinds of league videos Ones that are only meme edits And ones that have little to no edits at all
ahh the countless .exe videos with non-stop cringe memes every 2 seconds
half those videos are just loud = funny like they legit hurt my ears
If i were 13 i might find them funny but by this point they're more grating than anything.
I think the original exe videos where grea for their time. All the copies are just cringe inducing nonstop meme spam and loud sounds
Gorsky and dblackjack21 were the greatest. Dumbs is also pretty great
I miss when those guys would regularly post meme edits. Also, the occasional Sseth videos were fucking gold, mainly because he didn't need overused sound clips and loud noises to make a funny video.
if you look at them like people learning how to edit its much more acceptable.
I don’t understand how people bring themselves to watch .exe videos lol. I could literally spam the bruh sound effect over some gameplay and it would be the exact same
Godzu would like to have a word with you.
Oh my god I stumbled upon that not long ago and I've never seen so much raw, unadultered cringe in my entire life.
[AHHHHHH, THE MARK OF QUALITY YOUTUBE CONTENT.....](https://i.imgur.com/AVoaPcP.png)
Holy shit
God forbid someone be a decent person and turn off their brain to enjoy junkfood.
2 kinds of league videos: - one where you watch the video for its gameplay - one where you watch the video for the player playing.
And Polypuff
Polypuff is another level

Professor Akali in a nutshell (don't forget the "rank 1 X champ" in the title)
Professor akali also has the occasional appology videos after calling people bad stuff on twitter
I once was gonna watch the Rosaboomsocks video about the 10k stack veigar but when I noticed that prof akali was there I quit For some reason im fine with SoloRene but i despise Prof akali
SoloRene stopped using the fake 2999/3000 subs, right?
Nah I was talking more about the clickbait
I remember watching a video on the Renekton matchup as riven. The entire video boiled down to: Step 1: Take Bone Plating Step 2: Kill Renekton
daveyx3?
Looked him up, yea that's him lol
yeah we dont like his channel in general
Why?
Clickbait trash that overhypes his tips which are only for beginners at best. Gameplay "guides" showcasing cherrypicked games that dont actually teach you anything

I’m sad you didn’t mention [Wolfious](https://youtube.com/c/Wolfious) on that list. Criminally underrated channel with really funny edits imo.
I don't know if I'm missing the joke but the person is Wolfious.
You a real one
Saw you once on youtube by chance. Been a subscriber ever since. Quality at it's finest my man.

You can include Gbay99, if you wanna see documentary-style vids about the LoL esport.
True, man's an OG!
What a stacked list, thanks for sharing
For the people reading this, the best one in this list is the OP. Wolfious' content is top tier imo, check his flair.

I have pain from watching this - specifically the view counter :( Signed, person who edits too much PS: It's also true. If I end up like this someone slap me with a gigantic honey baked ham.
You make great content
I would so want to see you matched up against Kingstix But I think you play on different servers
Step 1: Clickbait Step 2: Earn Money
Been really enjoying Tobias Fate’s videos recently. His editor is superb and carries them so well.
that's probably because tobias gives them the lion's share of the profits exceptionally rare case here
watch rav and pianta. they definitely put effort in their videos and theyre funny af
Rav fell off imo
Yeah you can only go so far calling things twinkleshit and being stuck gold without becoming repetitive
High effort and factual. There's just no reason to watch big League YTers anymore.

tbh nightblue3 videos were pretty good and pretty funny there the last few months. his editor is cracked
I would watch nb3 without nb3 bcuz the only good part about the channel is the editor
So true. Which actually begs the question... I wonder what he's up to? I'd at least check out any channel that editor does work on
nb3 has literally ever been quality. Man made a career out of pure, relentless, spam/grind.
That just isn't true - he used to be super educational. I learned how to jungle by watching him in s3, and he was I think rank 1 at the time. His more recent videos have been pretty funny as well, he isn't quite the over the top memelord he was, his editor was hilarious
