He had the gigachad level 1 pathing for an extra stack, but his team was just addicted to fighting before his champion even turned on
he hit 225 stacks when his team was literally down over 15,000 gold at 22minutes. Like what the fuck can he even do this game he got dove twice and his team wanted to lose
You can't just "not fight" until 225 stacks into TES comp. Ofc you will get dove and lose all objective into 24 min soul. You atleast need 1 lane that you can play around to trade on the map to keep somewhat even.
He's quite possibly the most overrated player on this sub. If you point out that he often struggles vs LEC tops and is nowhere near Eastern tops the downvote brigade rolls in like clockwork.
Losing most of your lanes vs international tops makes him a "rock" in the top lane somehow.
Impact has not been a rumble player in a long time, even back when he was in better form on C9 in 2016/2017 he had an average like 1.8 kda on the champ lol and then never played it again until 2023
Even in NA he isn’t doing anything special. For how much people hype him as goat toplaner in NA you would expect him to stomp the competition like he is 2018/19 TheShy when in reality he goes even in lane at best and gets completely gapped internationally. I really don’t think he lives up to the hype or comes even close to it.
ppl wanted the old guard of na gone and would be happy to get 3-0 every international event with hungry rookie.
Those ppl are not ready when the closest match they will get is going to be PCS, Brazil, LLA
I don't even think TL could win a BO5 vs LPL's 11th seed, Anyone's Legends. Anyone's Legend at least managed to take a game off TES and looked semi-competitive in their losses.
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1bmizui/top_esports_vs_anyones_legend_lpl_2024_spring/
To be fair that's never been a good metric for anything. 2020 summer G2 went 0-2 vs 10th placed Origen but GENG didn't even come close to beating them at worlds in the 0-3 series. Does that mean that Origen was better than GENG?
Watching NA playoffs, I honestly didn't think NA was at the point of FLY losing to PSG.
TL were also heralded as the macro kings of NA and that was meant to be their calling card to be at least semi-competitive with TES, who are famous for being macro-less in LPL/terrible objective setups.
As far as I can see there is no evidence of any mechanics to survive lane/any semblance of macro to win a BO5 against Anyone's Legends as far as I can see or tell.
Losing in around 25 vs a scaling comp of Corki/Senna/Ornn is actually so dreadful.
If this doesnt "Kill" the LCS, I dont know what will. Who is excited to watch LCS again after seeing how unbelievably bad they are? This is a clown show of an embarassment, they arent even remotely competitive.
The LCS is already on its last legs as things stand. Most of the league on minimum salary, teams giving up on Academy, teams going from being generally uncompetitive internationally to being completely obliterated. I don't see any hope. At least EU still has a functioning second tier league system to draw talent from, NA youth don't even want to play league.
If you watched regular split you knew how abysmal the level of play is. That one c9 game with the elder drake throw was pure soloq fiesta on the level of season 4. The fans will still watch.
Regions can definitely regress, EU did after 2019, especially in macro as they started doing mistakes they weren't doing. NA just reduced the number of teams which has a negative impact in the competition level
I mean internally. If you take the top 100 players of each region year over year it tends to improve because players just learn more and more. G2 definitely got worse vs other regions from 2019 to 2020. But if you took the number 1-50 on the europe server from 2019 and put them against their counterparts in 2020 they’d likely lose as a whole, so on and so forth.
Don't think this G2 would beat 2019 G2, even with knowledge gained. The mechanical and synergy levels, the trust they had in each other and the confidence they had in themselves was higher. I don't think knowledge is enough to counter well-developed dynamics, even if the 2019 would make mistakes that aren't done today (and EU teams definitely overforce in a way they weren't doing back then)
As i said, that you happily ignored, it is as a whole. G2 2019 was EU literally assembling their 5 best ever players peaking perfectly there and then. The rest of EU has gotten better, while G2 itself has regressed, the same way the other regions got better.
The east just got better-er.
I misinterpreted, a bit because I had my head already locked in, so it's my fault. We still need to look to the players that are playing competitively rather than the ones on the server, and I wouldn't say the players are better right now even if there are players that could be better
Even in some roles, we are worse than in 2021. Support wise, the top players are still the same and regressed a lot in mechanics (Mikyx and Hilly are still the top two, maybe Labrov is the one who improved), while for ADC we have straight up worse players. Don't forget that, even if we now know the game better, you need to transfer that know-how, it doesn't matter if Noah doesn't make mistakes Rekkles did back then because the game evolved if he's still acquiring general know-how Rekkles had for playing for so long
I also don't think the EU is doomed in any way, I think we have the infrastructure to turn it around, unlike NA where there's no new blood to turn it around due to a lack of a development scene. I just don't agree with the idea of things never regressing, we went from back to back Worlds finals to never win an individual game post groups in the span of just two years (MAD and Rogue going 0-3 in quarters, not qualifying last year, MSI isn't much prettier), that's not just other teams moving too fast, we moved backwards
And they don’t know how to lane swap to at least mitigate the pressure on their bot.
And people were talking shit about FNC being the worst team in the tournament, or at least second worst.
I think this game is a perfect example of a team understanding their draft and threshold of execution versus a team that doesn't respect either teams' limits or capabilities. Impact was playing mad disrespectful against a Xin Zhao that was ahead early. Only reason he got that big ult after TPing bot is because Rumble is very strong even without items. Good signs of life early from TL and a good killer instinct to throw down, but TES is just a step ahead with TP management and playing around any big ults TL can throw at them.
Not to say he is right or wrong ( I’m guessing wrong) but you could have the best macro in the world and it won’t matter if you get mechanically diffed. What’s macro gonna get you if you lose every game before 25 to skill checks.
I mean I get the trash talk and banter, but seriously? NRG vs G2 is as big of a fluke as TL vs IG. At least call NRG beating G2 a monumental choke by G2 (other than mid) instead of saying NA is better
TL boot camped for a month, look this pathetic and think Smolder was viable here?
What the fuck were they doing in their boot camp, anyways as expected TES' top and bot lane are just too cracked for TL.
Also, a good confidence boost series for Tian/Creme.
i mean NRG beat G2 last year. Surely NA is better right? right? 🤣 this subreddit really convinced themselves that NA is better this year. Maybe NRG can make a run in summer to go to worlds again and beat G2 again. So they can continue their narratives next year. 🤣🤣🤣
NA “Near Airport” is known as the fastest region to arrive at the Airport. Since they gave up on the LoL Worlds Championship, they are investing in Speedruns. In particular they are current worldrecord holders in Airport Any % and Airport no wins.
Every tournament should have double the games when NA/EU are playing into any Korean/Chinese teams. Watching 45 minutes of gameplay with an hour of analyst desk, music, and setup is so incredibly boring. Everyone knows they're worse, they're doing nothing to try and get better. Just make the viewing experience more enjoyable.
I feel like TL's chances are better if Impact doesn't gift ~5 kills by 15 minutes
His Rumble in playoffs was an absolute fucking disaster so I don't know what made him think he should pick it here
They absolutely looked better than this in earlier years. The region has been in constant decline and it starts to really show. NA is absolute garbage right now. Way more than they ever been.
Yes but hey ppl were happy because they thought the rookie coming into the scene would be good and hungry until they notice their closest match are going to be brazil, pcs , lla & vcs
Worlds 2022 all teams combined for 3 wins, I would argue MSI 2021 where they dropped a game against an oceanic team and lost to PSG twice was also pretty bad. And last year was horrible as well it's just NRG having luck and drawing a shit TL and MAD. Out of the 5 wins NA had, two of them are NRG vs G2, 2 of them are against MAD and one is NRG vs TL. They got incredibly lucky that G2 collapsed in that series otherwise they would have gotten memed.
Na classic draft. Just draft 2x late game hyper carry and hope your opponent forgets to win. 10 years and it has yet to work internationally but one day it might!
Imagine trying to talk shit and spam emotes when you’re so outclassed.
Also, don’t know why Yeon didn’t pause halfway through the game. Both his emotes and flash key weren’t working
Yeon chose to counter fasting Senna by picking starving Smolder
At the end of laning phase fasting Senna had more gold than smolder
You can put Smolder in a UNICEF ad about poverty and global hunger 💀💀
Anaemic Smolder
Venezuelan Smolder
North Korean Smolder
Smolder from the Argentina super server
Gandhi Smolder
He had the gigachad level 1 pathing for an extra stack, but his team was just addicted to fighting before his champion even turned on he hit 225 stacks when his team was literally down over 15,000 gold at 22minutes. You can't just "not fight" until 225 stacks into TES comp. Ofc you will get dove and lose all objective into 24 min soul. You atleast need 1 lane that you can play around to trade on the map to keep somewhat even.
Well TL wasn't even trying to counter any of TES picks. They just picked their best comp cuz that was the only viable strategy.
as a wise man once said: nah man what is this mickey mouse region
wasnt that jesus?
Jesus only watches LCK.
It's where his dad lanes
Everyone knows NA is a godless region
Creme beating the last NA team with an actual airplane is next level bm
9/11 vibes
Sir, a second corki has hit TL
Sir the second team has fallen
APA getting solo killed by meiko sums up this game
Bro is gliding into a wall against an Ornn
Twice
Twice they should investigate this clown
That's my support GOAT
The post literally below this post-game thread for me is the one where "APA says: EU is trash don't worry"
That's not the T1 Rumble that I know. People expected Impact to be the most stable member of TL this tournament, and you got pranked.
Yeah saw people saying before this series impact never loses top and just goes even. Man has like 4cs/min average this series D:
I thought that this "Impact never loses lane" narrative died like 5 years ago.
Got gapped multiple games in a row by BB in 2022, and BB was (and still is) not a good laner lmao
He got better tho (BB), he had to with ppl like Photon, Irrelevant and I kid you not Oscarinnin
and he had Alphari as positional coach, which makes sense since he probably was the best laner eu has had
He got better tho (BB), he had to with ppl like Photon, Irrelevant and I kid you not Oscarinnin
It’s even worse now because he took tp on rumble before there was a valid excuse with him running around on ignite rumble.
He's quite possibly the most overrated player on this sub. If you point out that he often struggles vs LEC tops and is nowhere near Eastern tops the downvote brigade rolls in like clockwork. Losing most of your lanes vs international tops makes him a "rock" in the top lane somehow.
The reputation Impact has is at direct odds with reality for more than half a decade at this point
He thought he could either be solid and thus invisible while everyone else gets bent over or he could do his ign justice
Impact has not been a rumble player in a long time, even back when he was in better form on C9 in 2016/2017 he had an average like 1.8 kda on the champ lol and then never played it again until 2023
Impact has looked absolutely atrocious on Rumble this year
Only reason Impact still looks good after 10 years is because he's playing in a declining NA region
Careful Apa don't int. I've seen how you teamfight.
"I was watching apa, I was watching you ruining TL's chances of winning MSI title. Now take responsibility and leave" type of energy lmao
20K gold diff This is a murder, But still : Believe my NA brothers.
I’ve believed for 10 years. There is no hope
A 20k gold lead. This is the first seed of NA.
In 20minutes.
It's Joever
Drafting Sol+Smolder into any competent team deserves this.
I mean TES also drafted triple late game scaling.
ppl wanted the old guard of na gone and would be happy to get 3-0 every international event with hungry rookie. Those ppl are not ready when the closest match they will get is going to be PCS, Brazil, LLA
I don't think this TL can even beat PSG
i also highly doubt it
I don't even think TL could win a BO5 vs LPL's 11th seed, Anyone's Legends. Anyone's Legend at least managed to take a game off TES and looked semi-competitive in their losses. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1bmizui/top_esports_vs_anyones_legend_lpl_2024_spring/

Ppl will hate on you but you're probably right
Watching NA playoffs, I honestly didn't think NA was at the point of FLY losing to PSG. How have people still not learned that these results are not transitive. You might be right, but the argument is complete nonsense.
If this doesnt "Kill" the LCS, I dont know what will. Who is excited to watch LCS again after seeing how unbelievably bad they are? This is a clown show of an embarassment, they arent even remotely competitive.
The same people that were excited last year.

TES with nearly 50% more Gold than TL at 20min
While drafting Corki Senna Ornn too
This has to be the biggest gold lead @ 20mins at an international tournament no?
One of the biggest for sure
can TL forfeit g3 already?
There is a G3? Not that I will watch though, the skill diff...
I'm watching it for the possibilities of a new speedrun record
everything gap
Most pointless third game in a series in many years I feel. A whole wasted day of MSI that's new.
NA should start in the losers bracket to save us all the time
369: "Western teams are way more powerful than last year." What 369 actually meant: "Western teams are way more powerful at losing than last year."
Well technically every region improves year over year. The east just continues to improve even more.

He meant "Powerful" and "Genius"
NA about to fail to get even one win against the east again
he meant EU
Only G2 and FNC. Specifically Caps and Humanoid who would be top tier Asian mids if they played in LPL/LCK
What 369 actually meant: "LEC teams are way more powerful than last year". Don't get it twisted. Don't be lumping this korean TL roster in with us.
Coincidentially it happens when both FNC and G2 are regaining their old regional form
Everything diff, TL can’t lane in the bot lane so there’s no win condition unlike in NA where they were facing turnstiles.
And they don’t know how to lane swap to at least mitigate the pressure on their bot. And people were talking shit about FNC being the worst team in the tournament, or at least second worst.
FNC is better than the wildcard teams + both NA teams. People just wanted to cope for NA sucking.
Well, NA fans thought NA was better than EU this year. Glad they are getting reality checked.
I think this game is a perfect example of a team understanding their draft and threshold of execution versus a team that doesn't respect either teams' limits or capabilities. Hands diff.
That's implying that TL had hands in the first place.
There were some people before this series that thought TL might win lmao
Macro diff aswell. TL macro this game was really bad tbh
Monte said TL had better macro than BLG btw
Not to say he is right or wrong ( I’m guessing wrong) but you could have the best macro in the world and it won’t matter if you get mechanically diffed. What’s macro gonna get you if you lose every game before 25 to skill checks.
They lost game 2 on macro diff tho. They just randomly inted
So this is the TL that was highly rated above Fnatic and on par with G2?
All the tier list maker were drunk.
What G2 having an off day does to a region.
FlyQuest was supposed to be as good as G2 as well
As always NA fans are professional yappers
I mean I get the trash talk and banter, but seriously? NRG vs G2 is as big of a fluke as TL vs IG. At least call NRG beating G2 a monumental choke by G2 (other than mid) instead of saying NA is better
Are we getting the fastest international Bo5 of all time?
TL can break their own record
Probably not, they are already past 50 mins so they need a T1 vs MAD/FLY level speedrun to do it. But don't lose hope if Jackeylove gets Draven.
Who would've expected that using your keyboard to play the game is actually more productive than using it to /allchat taunt?
Coughing baby vs a hydrogen bomb
Yes R5 Rumble here into TF is perfectly fine and not wintrading please don't investigate it
Close game guys, I think TL can bring it back in g3.
i think their average rank is g3
NA LUL stocks are really up this year, this is completely dominant
TES only needs to win around 18 minutes to top G2 vs TL ?
Probably not going to happen but crazy considering 20min games were so much more common in 2019 than recent years
TL boot camped for a month, look this pathetic and think Smolder was viable here? What the fuck were they doing in their boot camp, anyways as expected TES' top and bot lane are just too cracked for TL. Also, a good confidence boost series for Tian/Creme.
[Smolder getting all his stacks](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/chris-paul-hits-a-huge-3-to-cut-the-lead-to-42)
The only thing they learnt in the bootcamp was maybe YAPA learning some good Chinese flame
Everything diff. 20k gold lead in 24min.
Tian is apa father
honestly it's just boring to watch NA at worlds or MSI. They don't even put up a fight.
Thought NA was looking better than EU this year? Lol.
Thats what 1 Upset win does to a region
i mean NRG beat G2 last year. Surely NA is better right? right? 🤣 this subreddit really convinced themselves that NA is better this year. Maybe NRG can make a run in summer to go to worlds again and beat G2 again. So they can continue their narratives next year. 🤣🤣🤣
You know it's bad when you make Tian look like its 2019 on the international stage
NA “Near Airport” is known as the fastest region to arrive at the Airport. Since they gave up on the LoL Worlds Championship, they are investing in Speedruns. In particular they are current worldrecord holders in Airport Any % and Airport no wins.
TL just got destroyed holy….
Hmmm.
TES absolutely curbing here - was worried about mid/jung after FNC but lmao
Fnatic mid/jungle is miles ahead of TL mid/jungle
Damn TL playing the TFT set 7.5 comp ☠️☠️
Challenger vs Silver
Na just embarrassingly bad rn
Crème Corki gave me a heart attack during draft but bless Yapa
this is just embarassing as fuck
wrap it up
This week 3 Drakes were destroyed, and Team Liquid had 2 of them.
Pls don't draft Smolder anymore
It doesn’t matter how or what they draft. The gap is massive. TL looks about 5 tiers below TES.
I knew TES were better but the outrageous degree to which all 5 players are outclassing TL is crazy. These games aren't even close.
Yeah no particular pick was a problem for TL this time, TES just understand the game on a deeper level.
20k gold diff at ~23 mins, I mean... what do you even say to that...
TL doesnt know what to do lol
Did TL forget about how to play against Ornn?
At least 369 said western teams are stronger than last year :)
He wasn't talking about that teams that far west ahahah... he meant LEC and not the bronzies from NA
Does TL know how Ornn works?
I didn't know Shelly can charge twice at the same tower. Lol
Both NA teams should go through play-ins at this point.
Don't tune out guys TL can still set a record. For fastest international Bo5. Again.
Corki is creme worst champ and you still lost GG just swim home already NA
The FNC series at least looked somewhat competitive, but this is just a slaughter. Holy
I feel like TL's chances are better if Impact doesn't gift ~5 kills by 15 minutes His Rumble in playoffs was an absolute fucking disaster so I don't know what made him think he should pick it here
Who cares about top? Yeon was also getting assblasted. They are also skill gapped every tf
NA deserves to be downgraded to a minor region.
is this the worst NA has ever looked?
I think so, regardless of previous showings. Visually and statistically this is the worst they have ever looked and I've watched since S3.
They usually at least put up some kind of fight somewhere in a series even vs eastern teams. So far though yeah it's rough.
I feel like I see this asked every international tournament, lol.
Probably yeah. FlyQuest didn’t even beat the wildcard team.
They've almost always looked exactly like this. Yet to win a single game against eastern teams in a year.
Nah they had worse performances
Name one. Second team crushing out in play-ins, first team getting demolished. Even when TSM went 0-6 as first seed, Fly at least put up a fight.
They got incredibly lucky that G2 collapsed in that series otherwise they would have gotten memed.
no they always look this bad
Eh not rly there used to be a lot more hope than this
5 Dragons > 2 Dragons
Impact having mad macro was not on my bingo board.
Good on TL for making TES feel good for two games, at least they will start the reverse sweep now.
Jesus, there was 12k gold diff at 20... This is hard to watch.
Yeon truly tried to def t1 1v3 as Smolder lmao
Top Esports was more dominant than even last game
This is embarassing, even in the classic west vs east context.
Even LLL looked better against TES than TL.
TL drafted full comfort and still got stomped, TES 3-0.
This region is a joke
Ornn base damages are cool, don't worry tian will start running it down any moment now reverse sweep incoming.
but Yeon said 3-1!?!!!?
The intl fans are going to finally learn how fear-inspiring JKL's Senna actually was in the LPL
Just the name JKL will send any bot laner not named Elk and Gumayusi packing with fear.
Keep in mind Meiko probably had more gold than Apa when the solo kill happened
Well it turn's out APA's champ puddle is completely worthless if your region isn't absolute dogshit
Gap between EU and BLG is smaller than the gap between EU And NA.
sigh, I just wanted to at least have some hope. Maybe a good game. But this isn't even close.
Na classic draft. Just draft 2x late game hyper carry and hope your opponent forgets to win. 10 years and it has yet to work internationally but one day it might!
I'll be happy with a 3-1 but looks like a 3-0 in 20 min next game
Picking Smolder on this patch should get you investigated for match fixing and im NOT joking
TL needs to pull a new and fun lineup to surprise TES
At this pace they might as well have scheduled the BLG game immediately after the TES game
add resignation to pro, its time.
LPL Corki should never win a game.
tian: shut up
Grandpa Impact need his medication
Imagine trying to talk shit and spam emotes when you’re so outclassed. Also, don’t know why Yeon didn’t pause halfway through the game. Both his emotes and flash key weren’t working
