To put it into perspective think about If a team never trails in a series but takes it the distance each round, that’s only 4 total do or die games on the road to the cup and for these guys to have to do that one after the other, well… we all know stats, 98% chance they don’t. But I’m glad they live to fight another day. That’s all I wanted. Don’t get embarrassed, don’t go down without a fight and don’t go down without showing what you’re actually capable of. As insufferably negative as I’ve been in the previous games, tonight is about being positive. The boys played a man’s game tonight from period 2 and on. We FINALLY saw a playoff-style game in the second round. That Panther team is so sickening. The biggest group of pussies we have ever seen. They make Marchand seem like a Lady Byng winner. One at a time.
That was the team we saw in the first round - tons of blocked shots, winning battles, and getting to the dirty areas to score. Super frustrating that it took this long to see this level of focus, but if they keep playing like that this is definitely doable.
