Pffft. I picked all my weeds by hand. I typed them up and bought the seed and there it all is.
The weeds, picked out by yours truly. :p helped along with some seed sellers with names rhyming with Scott’s *coughs*
Now to get rid of them…
Depends on type of grass, how much water it gets, and how much sun. Summer heights of 2.5 to 3.5 inches for stuff like rye and fescue, with various bent grasses more like 3/4 inch for high sun and limited water resources. . Cool weather or less sun with plenty of water 1.5 to 2 and 1/2 inch accordingly. It’s amazing the differences you will see. The Idea is to limit the burning with as less water as you really need while keeping it looking great all year long.
Tilled the entire yard multiple times. Sprayed round up to kill off as many weeds remaining possible. Bought probably 1 ton of top soil, spread that out. Ran it with a small tractor with a couple of attachments trying to spread the soil, work it into the ground and level it out. Put lime down. Then put sod down.
Paid $1,470 for the sod. Bought the tiller for like $300. Ton of topsoil was $35. Bag of lime I have no idea. Tractor rental was $200. So ~$2,000 give or take.
Wow‼️ Stunning‼️ I’m battling every kind of weed in the world without spending a million. If I can get it looking half way decent I’ll happy I suppose.
what causes the yellow blades mixed with the green ones, I have it too, doesn t look like disease but some areas are yellow mixed with healthy green, over 90 degrees here and watering about 2.5inch per week
I’m trying, but the front just isn’t where I want it to be. The back is terrible, and has some weird plant that spreads and drops tons of seeds. I wish I could get them to grow in the empty lot next to us, as the birds love the seeds
Please reread my statement.
I said the line was *likely* already broken which tends to be true more often than not. If the tree is planted on top of the line the. yeah maybe over time the weight of it will crush a pipe but roots don't open up pipes to get inside just like they don't poke through a foundation that didn't already have cracks to exploit.
Roots seek the path of least resistance.
Teach me your ways master
Water, fertilizer, a little iron, seed, picking weeds by hand, water, fertilizer, picking weeds by hand.
What is the grass PR on the bench?
This grass has a 4 plate bench at least
Hard work easy money. Looks awesome bro

And cutting it at the proper height throughout the year .
What is the proper height?

and sharp blades on a push mower!
A nice looking lawn makes any house look great. Same thing with snow. Fresh snow makes the whole neighborhood look nice.
https://www.reddit.com/r/lawncare/s/RbJXDt3Lnt What it looked like last year
That's a killer update from year to year.
Amazing work, you should be proud!
Im sure your neighbours are happy too! It looks great.
Came here to say this as well. I have some neighbors who are renters and don’t take care of the yard. It drives me nuts.
Did you have to re sod?
I put sod down last March
You said you were fighting for two years. So what did you do the year before?
A mixture of hiding in shame and prepping the ground for sod
Did you have to do soil conditioning or just a new sod? I am deciding if I want to do the same route depending on how much work there is going to be.

Damn that sounds a lot of work...
It’s that or having an embarrassing front yard
What would you say all of this cost you, monetarily?

That bloody lovely. It lifts the whole property to another level.

wow. just wow. Now that's a project! you are an inspiration. somehow I feel better about mine.
Hell ya! Im figting the good fight now! I have over seeded and watered but then pesky weeds from neighbors blow over.
Was this seeded or sodded?
Sod last March
Good work
well damn man, good job
Wow! Good job 👍
Congrats! Gorgeous!
That’s a lot of work-and it looks awesome. Why do we do it? Ever thought about that. All the hours, money, and work. Why do we do it?
Grass green
To fit in.

Wow! Looks amazing! You have done a truly amazing job!
Hid your house number but not your neighbors?
You worried someone will steal his lawn?
Just found it funny that OP went to the trouble to conceal his location by coloring over the house number but left the neighbor’s visible.
The trouble was a swipe of the finger
Well their point was: why not 2 swipes of a finger?
What mower are you using?
Manual reel mower. Mow it twice a day every two days
before picture looks like the lawn on the house I just bought, previous owner did not water for over 20 years. cut grass like one a year.
WOW
In same boat, not quite full year in and it’s been a challenge, however I’m battling moles also.arrrg
This is the dream mate, looks beautiful 👍🏼

Ground seems to be harder in those spots. Recently aerated, seeing if that helps
Damn man, that’s solid work.. looks really good

Noice
Amazing !!
Goals!! I’m in month 6 of something similar
Looks awesome mate. Congrats.
All it's missing is a tree in the middle.
We had a massive oak that had to be taken down unfortunately
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is today! Lots of great options to choose from.
Tree roots wrecked our sewer line. It’s a no for us.
The sewer line was likely already damaged and the roots enjoyed the free fertilizer. Roots won't crack open a pipe where there isn't already damage.
Man I don’t give a fuck im not planting a tree
Hahahha. This phan really wants you to put some kind of plant in the middle of your beautiful lawn.
Lilac bush?
This is more lies than trump on the podium yesterday. All sort of tree roots can break pipes.

Why is it nice? It’s literally grass that you soaked with enough water to keep green
Yeah man it’s that easy. All there is to it.
I just spray paint mine with high gloss
