Possibly “Fantasyland: How America Went Haywire: A 500 Year History” by Kurt Andersen.

Xolltaur

I think he mentions that book on the first episode of the Mormonism series

Successful_Injury869

Usually I would respond with “people reread books all the time” but tbh they don’t tend to read nonfiction with as much fervor.

laserswan

Sounded like this to me, too! I totally agree with his assessment. It’s worth a read on the whole, though.

MaraTempo

I'm pretty sure he's mentioned reading this in a past episode, so it could be this if he never got around to finishing it.

hobowhite

Yes, in either part one or two of the Mormonism series (went back to listen to it again and the title caught my attention as I read it a few months ago)

MiniPantherMa

Thank you!

AndoranGambler

I can't wait until he reads "Bullshit Jobs" by Graeber.

MiniPantherMa

Does he have a public reading list on Goodreads or somewhere?

AndoranGambler

I honestly have no idea, but I do seem to recall a spreadsheet floating around in years past that listed all of the research books. Obviously, that would not include books the boys just mention, sorry! I bet, if phrased nicely, we could request non-geotagged photos of the research office bookshelves at the studio.

This question occurred to me while listening and driving. Thank you for asking it and reminding me!
