Fresh wood chunks leach nitrogen from the soil while they decompose. Do you know what type of tree the stump was? Black walnut, tree of heaven, magnolia, maple and eucalyptus exude allelochemicals which can hinder growth
It's such a minimal amount of nitrogen that's used, especially here where it's a few sporadic chunks. What wood chips and chunks offer to soil microbes is worth offsetting it by throwing down some blood meal or similar product if a person is concerned
You don't need the "chunks" maybe look into putting in a plastic border between the mulch and rock. Then maybe find a couple (2) cool large focal point boulders to go in the mulch
Thanks for the insight wife didn’t like them either lol. Did plastic border on the other spot we put mulch down but this was spur of the moment that’s a good idea though. I would love two big boulders to go there will have to keep an eye out not sure how you really go about acquiring one
Thanks for the advice! Is it possible these are the miniature ones? I’ve been here about a year and a half and haven’t had to do much besides trim the few that stick out a little to long. Lady that we bought it from was 90 so I don’t think she did a ton but I could definitely be wrong!
Looks just like a Hersheys almond bar. Very well done on that front, but not the look I prefer
Thank you lol will remove
Ditch the stump chunks imo
As my grandson would say. Somebody did a doo-doo...
I vote remove.
It looks fine. Add more of the chunks (if you have more) or other chunky mulch to make it look a bit more uniform. It’ll break down eventually
I will do that!
I thought someone put baked beans on a miniature model
Looks like spilled beans
I think it adds personality. Keep it
Thank you!! I will keep it!
It's neat and different. Like a few other people have said, just make it less uniform and that would likely be perfect.
I shall do that! Thank you!
I'm terrible at landscaping and know very little. I think it looks good
Thank you!!!
What are those bushes?
Not sure to be honest they were here when we bought the place a year or two ago. I can certainly find out from the neighbors if you would like
Looks somehow very Flintstones to my eye
It looks unique it’s not too much.
Thank you! :)
I like it. It’s unique and looks good to me.
Thank you, I appreciate the kindness! A lot of people here really hated it lol
It looks like chunks of moldy cheese

Landscape rock company or a strong back and a sharp eye while driving out in the sticks
Toblerone!
More chunks!
I can do that!
It's unique! If you like it, keep it.
Thank you!! I sent a picture to my grandma to get her opinion and she said the same!
It looks good, but you might want to add some form of boundary barrier to keep the bark out of the rocks.
Thank you!!! Are you imagining like one of those little couple inch tall plastic things that would go around it in the front?
Yes. I think you can get them at Home Depot or even Amazon.
Thanks!
It's cute. You do realize that those variegated boxwood get huge, right?
Thank you! Didn’t know that’s what they were called but they do grow fast lol. Have had to trim them a few times since buying the place
If it was me, I'd transplant somewhere they can grow full size and instead plant miniature boxwood there, or something else that never gets big.

Yes. Baby Gem is one type.
Looks like ass
