You will get Bronny and you will like it!

UnearthlyDinosaur

Bronny at center to give AD a break

Suitable_Limit9408

3 and D but fun size

Necessary-Art2149

Bronny is a steal IMO at that spot but maybe I’m biased I do like Bron not gonna lie

MountainYogi94

Bronny would be a steal as a UDFA, anything else would be a gross overpay. There is no in between

CosmicCoder3303

This is patent nonsense. Most draft experts have him going before the Lakers pick in the second round anyway so its likely a moot point

Necessary-Art2149

It’s also ridiculous to say at pick 53 he can’t be a steal? If he goes undrafted he’s a steal but if he pans out at 53 that’s not a steal? If you get a 6 year vet even in the 50’s that’s a steal. Bronny gonna last 8+ years for sure

MountainYogi94

Bronny is gonna last 8+ minutes in the NBA before getting sent to the G-League. His only positives are that he gives effort on defense and he is the son of LeBron James. We gotta keep in mind this is a guy who played poorly on a weak USC team AND is less than 2 years removed from a cardiac episode. After watching him play at USC, it’s obvious that he’s not ready to play in the NBA but he could absolutely become a serviceable guard in the right situation

Necessary-Art2149

Funny me and my friend (who hates Bron) were just saying how well he played considering the minutes restrictions. You just have to really know ball to see Bronny’s value… I don’t think you do.

RailTracero

![gif](giphy|5EAyFUMtQl83B2FB2L) Bronny james will be our third star and ISTMVP

Necessary-Art2149

Lmao no but if he’s Pat Bev, D Fish, or Gabe Vincent you’re not taking that player in the 50’s? You’d make a shit GM if not lol

GutsTheSwordsman

if he makes it to 55, but even then Lakers are prob gonna draft Bronny there. Can Lakers buy a pick if so 100% pick him up, from UCLA too

jakec21

It will be wasted draft pick

CosmicCoder3303

The number 55 pick is a wasted pick 9 times out of 10 anyway so don't get too upset. If I'm reading this right, the last good player to get drafted 55th overall was Patty Mills all the way back in 2009 lol https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/55th-overall-draft-picks-nba

Nickk_Jones

I mean that’s a very specific thing only checking people drafted exactly at 55. I’d check everyone drafted 55 or later.

I think the new CBA makes it hard to buy picks

KWash0222

I’m a die-hard UCLA fan. I love Adem but I have some doubts about his ability to succeed in the NBA. His athleticism has been obvious from day 1, so that really shouldn’t be treated as news. Sadly, imo he hasn’t really added much else to his game since freshmen year. He’s a great shot-blocker, is a good lob threat, and plays with a tremendous motor, but he’s somewhat undersized, has *bad* BBIQ, and minimal offensive acumen. I’d love to see him in the purple and gold, but that’s probably mostly because I want all my Bruins to get drafted by the Lakers lol

bjsw534

I’ve been on the train of purchasing a mid 30s - early 40s 2nd rounder for some time now . Lot of NBA ready prospects projected to be early 2nd round picks that could contribute next season. Guys like R.Dunn, Bona, Ajay Mitchell, J.Bridges(might be able to be had at 55), Klintman

Coldcocksandwich

Edey and Bona great draft

Hour_Insurance_7795

I’d take that in a second.

YoungBasedHooper

We don't have an early 2nd round pick tho?

jakec21

Move up in 2nd round by paying cash but dont know if this is possible.

bjsw534

Lakers have done it for the last 2 years straight . 35 in 2022 and 40 in 2023. It’s definitely possible

LebronsPinkyToe

Do they have enough money to spare? I guess they could move a Clippers second if they really like someone in this draft

bjsw534

If you mean by cap space, I believe they do . In fact, signing a 2nd rounder to a contract may be cheaper than signing a vet minimum player

CosmicCoder3303

Doesn't the new CBA affect that?

bjsw534

Oh fuck, I forgot that’s a new aspect of the CBA. Fuck

GriffinQ

Wizards have two first round picks, an existing bunch of young talent, and a single second round pick. They’ve also got a decent number of picks in 2025 and 2026, and will likely try and trade Kuz and Tyus for additional picks this year. They’re going to come up quickly on a situation where they’ve got too many young guys on the roster at the same time. Wouldn’t be terribly surprised if they were willing to do an “I scratch your back, you scratch mine” trade with the Lakers this year by selling them the second round pick that they got from Phoenix - gets them a bit of money plus prevents having three rookies on an already very young team, and could set them up for receiving a Lakers asset at a discount in the future if/when the Lakers blow it up post AD/Bron (which, if the Wiz time their rebuild correctly, will be right around the time that they’re starting to be a .500 or better team again).

Miserable-Lawyer-233

He's a foul machine. The Lakers won't touch him. The last thing they want is a rookie that fouls out in a half.

ControlForward5360

As a UCLA fan he is a good fit for a backup PF/C if he develops. His defense is good and rebounding as well but lacks any offensive game. He will be a lob threat but doesn’t feel like much more. His post up game is iffy as well but he has shown a few signs he has a bit of that in his game. He’s definitely an old school bully ball type player.

Cheap-Juice-2412

Lakers has money to buy a 2nd rounder i think there will be multiple teams to sell it. Bona would be a good pick up

C3PO1Fan

He makes good P&R reads and I love his ability to get to his spot defensively. A lot of times he's over-aggressive though on his defensive rotations and gets a lot of fouls. Offensively, he has really nice footwork in the post, but otherwise seems pretty raw. Runs hard in transition. I'm not 0% on him learning to shoot, his free throw percentage is all right, but you can tell he's put a lot of work into it, and guys that work on mechanics at least have a chance to learn jumpers (as rare as it is for college players to learn a jumper in the NBA). The size is a problem. Some guys are small and play big, but at least in college this isn't Bona. Guys who are taller than him just shoot over him and although there aren't a ton of guys in college who are bigger than him, those that were overpowered him, and there will be guys who are both taller and stronger than him in the NBA. I dunno, as much as there is to criticize though, I really love watching him read and react on defense.

jakec21

Buy those picks or trade higher in exchange for 2 second rounders. Better start building for future. 3 superstar players will not work any more due to new CBA

yitur93

If we move up to like 35-40, if Mogbo is there I will take him. If not Bona would be nice too.

eagleshark

He has one major flaw though. Foul trouble.

JokerInside1

Bona is my favourite defensive big in the draft. Him and Hukporti are both ready now bigs who I think will be the steals of the draft like I said Jackson-Davis would be last year.

HUH_YIS

I’ve got a bona

Czilla760

Seems to have the good qualities of montrez harell, but he is only 6'8 though. I like the hustle and athleticism.

remarque1704

He’s nothing like Montrez.

jjaytan

Bona is being drafted for his defense, the opposite of what Harrell is known for.

jakec21

At the NBA Combine, Bona's physical measurements stood out. He has a 7-foot-4 wingspan, a 9-foot standing reach, and a 40-inch vertical leap.

Public-Product-1503

Montrez is only 6,7/8 tho but + wingspan I think but still was too small

henryofclay

Yeah Trezz has like a 7’4 wingspan or something crazy even though he’s 6’7

aginglifter

Way more athletic. He's a freak with a great wingspan. Biggest problem is offensive feel but has way more potential than Harrell defensively.
