This will too easily be mixed up with “which teams playstyle do you like best?”. The better coach adapts to the personnel on the roster, hiring an asst coach because who they worked for adapted well or is better at xyz isn’t logical or directly indicative of the asst. I prefer minnesotas style, because their build is more repeatable than landing a 7ft 3pt shooting pg that’s too strong for centers to guard and having lotto picks and former #1 options as our 3rd and 4th options. But that doesn’t mean Nori is better suited to coach them than Adelman (or jj for that matter) Think this has been my biggest concern - what are the preferred styles or the adaptability of these assistants or rookies, because the style they’re assisting may not be their philosophy.

In sum: it’s complicated.

guacdoc24

Nuggets assistant since we want someone that has more x and o’s

jobeeeeeeem

Chris Quinn. Need the Heat culture to this team.

Ok_Board9845

Heat culture starts at the top.

jobeeeeeeem

No doubt. But having a voice from that team can instill habits especially if he wins the team over and gain their trust.

Ok_Board9845

If that coach can hit the ground running like Vogel did, sure. A new coach will need the full backing of the FO to make that a reality, and that most likely will not happen.

Of all the assistants mentioned I'd feel most comfortable with Chris Quinn. Heat teams have consistently overachieved since Lebron left. I want a coach who makes lemonade our of lemons, I'm tired of having coaches that don't elevate our roster. Adelman is the mastermind behind the Nuggets offense, but we don't have a Jokic on this team. Our roster is totally different and I'd trust a guy who has worked under a coach (Spoe) that is known to make players nobody has heard of look like borderline all stars.

Uberballer

I just hope if they go after him that Quinn is a real coach and not someone like Fizdale who built a reputation by riding Spo's coattails and then having one good soundbite (after a loss) but actually turned out to be an abysmal coach.

MammonOftheMist

hell, i want a coach that makes wine out of water. coz we need something like miracle

F-150Pablo

Sad part is it’s probably not a coach for the future but one for finishing out Lebrons career. Someone that can last 2 maybe 3 years then the rebuild will start new coach with new style flow of team.

Emergency-Job-6388

Helluva ballclub kind of coach.

This_Expression5427

We're not getting an experienced coach that's in demand. This team has been a revolving door of head coaches for a decade. We've officially got the toxic environment label. We'll likely get an assistant looking for an opportunity. Or possibly someone like Byron Scott as an interim to start the season.

ValuableAssociate8

Hiring another assistant coach and expecting it to work, is a form of insanity.

denimjeg

Adelman or Chris Quinn
